- KenSPT, on 12/28/2007, -11/+220Freaking selfish people, only one guy slowed down to see if the dude who got hit was okay ...
- fadetoone, on 12/28/2007, -6/+199Nowhere in that video did I see rain produce a road...
- timla, on 12/28/2007, -13/+193Poor bastard, first he hits the cover (or the cover hits him, i am not quite sure) then when he gets out to inspect the damage the thing goes off again.
- sodypop77, on 12/28/2007, -3/+176Damn kids flushing cherry bombs down the toilet again!
- ikcilabd, on 12/28/2007, -2/+128so thats what happens if an entire city flushes their toilets the same time
- CrimsonFate, on 12/28/2007, -2/+106If a car hadn't stopped to wake me up while being unconcious in a burning truck on the side of the highway in September, I wouldn't have been able to get the door open and my foot unstuck. In other words, I would have burned to death if someone wasn't shouting at me and trying to get me out of the car that later burned to the ground.
I understand what you're trying to imply, but leaving anyone entirely alone after an accident is a terrible, terrible idea.
/true story - wontstoptalking, on 12/28/2007, -0/+91One day man will conquer water and water will be harmless again. One day.
- Paktu, on 12/28/2007, -9/+93This video seems to make front page a couple times every year. For those of you who don't know, this happened on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis (a few miles south of the bridge collapse).
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -4/+88Traffic camera...
- CrimsonFate, on 12/28/2007, -13/+94Yeah, we saw the video.
- Hockey13, on 12/28/2007, -8/+86How's the weather back there in 1999?
- hammerpants, on 12/28/2007, -1/+66That was no accident. That was mole people.

- trevah, on 12/28/2007, -2/+57I'm impressed. I've never seen anyone live up to their name so spectacularly.
- jquipp, on 12/28/2007, -3/+50It's incredible that no one got hurt..was sure there was going to be a pile up.
- Salmoclarki, on 12/28/2007, -0/+43http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&tim ...

- r0b0, on 12/28/2007, -0/+30No, thats in Soviet Russia
- rspeed, on 12/28/2007, -2/+30If I had $1000 for every Digg title with a misplaced modifier I'd have a ***** of money.
- MrSidnet, on 12/28/2007, -3/+30 The Most Amazing Accident On Road Produced By Drain
- Vindexus, on 12/28/2007, -2/+28Holy ***** I'm not reading all that.
- merreborn, on 12/28/2007, -1/+25According to a comment on the video on youtube:
"good old Calgary Alberta Canada, that was on Glenmore Trail and the camera was to monitor the flow of traffic because of the construction that was going on. Hail plugged the storm drain and caused a hail dam. when it broke free water cam from the surrounding communities which are up to 50 metres ( 160 feet) higher. it was all clean rain water"
...At least one of you (Paktu, and the youtube commenter) must be wrong.
I expect snopes will have an explanation up before long. - Scynet, on 12/28/2007, -2/+23Yeah he was lucky. It's much worse when the sewage system spontaneously spits out sulphur acid instead. I hate when it happens.
- EmperorAwesome, on 12/28/2007, -1/+22@stupidumb
Alright, after typing out your name I have a hard time seriously chastising you, but you've missed the point entirely. - venicerocco, on 12/28/2007, -0/+19My favorite bit is the page peel transition at 01.04 - that must have been quite the rage in 1999.
- bartofdahammer, on 12/28/2007, -2/+21Not enough water overflow protection for the water system, the area probably runs on combined sewers, where storm water and sewage go into the same pipe, and the storm was so huge that the treatment plant was getting backed up and the system needed to release somewhere, and well thats where it was easy to escape.
- PixelEater, on 12/28/2007, -2/+20Because the Highway would be a better place if everyone had stopped right there.
- tyywebb, on 12/28/2007, -4/+22This was on digg so recently it's still in my cache.
- swazo, on 12/28/2007, -5/+22I love the youtube comments.
Bukakke! - endlessoul, on 12/28/2007, -0/+16Even if it's not right, it sure sounds plausible. Nicely played.
- mal1964, on 12/28/2007, -1/+17Yep you're right , it was lefty loosely, rightly tightly
- Kyrra, on 12/28/2007, -2/+17But it depends on the situation as well. Stopping to help at an accident when driving conditions are far from safe can be detrimental to the situation as a whole. You can't hold the idea "I'm going to help anyone that is in trouble" as the situation dicates if you can help while also keeping yourself safe. I believe it's unfair to call people "selfish" without looking at the situation as a whole.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -1/+16Earth got acid reflux.
- xyqxyq, on 12/29/2007, -0/+15Rain continues to fall.
- signal15, on 12/28/2007, -1/+15Wow, I drive this all the time and didn't see a cover there, but I'm apparently wrong:

This is in Minneapolis. - Bahimiron, on 12/28/2007, -1/+15I love the keywords for that video and how the video itself seems to have very little to do with hot girls, *****, wiis or PSPs.
- azimir, on 12/28/2007, -1/+14All hail the Google Road View. Kinda freaky that we have the data available at any given time.
- Namakemono, on 12/28/2007, -0/+12Those pesky Ninja Turtles are at it again.
- skeeterbug84, on 12/28/2007, -0/+11Sewer drain crits you for 928339?
- mattboyslim, on 12/28/2007, -0/+11That is fantastic. Thanks for finding that.
- kahlessreborn, on 12/28/2007, -3/+13Actually this has been on Digg no less than 3 times, and it appears the person died who drove into the Geyser
- TomFrost, on 12/28/2007, -0/+10Dude.. it's ***** youtube.
- nreynolds, on 12/28/2007, -0/+9Rand McNally actually. They wear shoes on their hands too.
- Vindexus, on 12/28/2007, -1/+10Then tased him.
- pintomp3, on 12/28/2007, -2/+10life on geyser highway.
- Devotia, on 12/29/2007, -0/+8Seriously. If this would have been NYC a few years back, there'd be pink slime all over the road.
