- ffttoteof, on 06/02/2008, -0/+53There's way freakier ***** than Pascha in Germany.
In Hamburg's red light district, there are so many prostitutes on the street, and they're aggressive. You walk by and they _grab onto your arm_ and try and convince you to engage in some sexy fun-for-money. They pretty much all speak German, English, and whatever their native language is. (Or at least enough of those languages to be able to negotiate prices and discuss sex acts.) If you manage to pull yourself free from one's grip and move on, she'll shout down the street to the other girls "English!" so they know what language to accost you in.
In Hamburg's red light district there is also a street where only men are allowed. It's a short street, only one or two blocks long, and each end is blocked with a big metal gate and signs saying only men may enter. Inside it's just a bunch of red neon-trimmed windows with hookers sitting in them, like in Amsterdam. I did however see many female tourists entering this street just so they could see what was inside, and nobody seemed to be stopping them.
In various cities there are these big sex-dormitory type places. Multi-story brothels with just corridors and little dorm-sized rooms, each one containing a hooker. Like the Pascha, but smaller and without other entertainment.
In Berlin's Oranienburger Strasse on any given night there are tons of hookers in the street. They're all dressed super hot (like white miniskirts and boots and tight-fitting tops). I've been told that they're an accepted and even somewhat beloved part of that street, and during the winter go into the various restaurants and cafes on the street to change out of their warm coats and into their whorin' outfits in the bathrooms. I would bet that almost all of them are from eastern Europe. If you just walk down the street without a female in your party, they'll accost you, though not as aggressively as in Hamburg.
In Düsseldorf I had the misfortune to live on a street with lots of streetwalkers. Streetwalking is illegal in Germany if they don't work for a brothel. Why would these girls want to take the illegal option for their profession, when prostitution is legal in Germany? Take one look at them and you see why: they've all got serious problems. Ultra-skinny, sunken cheeks, dark eyes. Not healthy looking. It's not common to see them shooting up on the street, vomiting, or just being obviously ***** up. One time I saw one going around without any pants or underwear on. Seriously. One time one of them said to me in a sweet, high-pitched voice "Hallo..." and when I didn't reply then said in a more natural sounding man's voice "Hallo." I soon figured out that their secret code for "Do you want to have sex for money?" is asking if you have a cigarette. I always said no, except one time after a night on the town I did have some cigarettes in my pocket. I said "Oh, yeah, actually..." and gave her one. She took it and looked kind of confused and said "Aber du hast kein Lust, oder?" (But you're interested...?) Men would always slowly cruise through this street and sometimes pick them up. I can't believe anyone would not be scared ***** of what diseases the illegal junkie streetwalkers might be carrying.
FYI, I never slept with a hooker. I wouldn't have anything morally against the industry if that really was what the prostitute wanted to be doing for a living, but you always hear about girls (especially from poorer countries) being trafficked and forced into it. Who knows if you can believe the numbers, but I'd bet it does happen, and I'd certainly feel terrible about supporting that. - Trax91, on 06/02/2008, -4/+43Related Websites:

- christophelyon, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3About #5 "Bordels Mobiles de Campagne" (or just BMCs as the French usually call them...)
It's not exactely that. They are not mobile anymore, at least for most of them. These are old, sometimes very old delivery trucks, some of them are even unable to move, which have been put all along some steets in "strategic" places within big French cities. The photo in the site was taken in Lyon (see my pseudo, I know it very well...), where the prostitutes usually are at three main places : around the soccer stadium (lots of guys coming there without their girlfriends/wives, plus it's a bit secluded), and two places among the Rhone river, one just next to a big military complex (no need to explain why), and the other at the junction of the two major highways (the one from Paris to Lyon and the one from Lyon to Marseille. At this place, everybody who is driving across Lyon, expecially truck drivers, have it easy to stop and park any kind of vehicle).
But don't forget it's still an organised business. There are a few older prostitutes who own their own truck, these don't come where the others are, usually they drive their truck to a secluded place outside the city (a public park, a remote parking by the highway...), and stay there by themselves during the day, then drive back home every evening (they don't stay there during the night, since it's too dangerous). But the vast majority of the women who work in the trucks are foreigners, mostly from eastern Europe and Africa, who were brought there by pimps who arrange all the business. It's almost all classified, you may see 10 or more identical trucks, with almost identical women in them, one after the other on the same street.
For years, almost every mayors of Lyon have tried to target the prostitution problem. Their main way to do it : take measures to forbid truck parking in the areas where the prostitutes. It usually works... locally. The prostitutes may stage some protests, but they end up somewhere else after a few days, a bit further from the city center.
Of course, these "BMCs" are also seen around other French cities. In Paris for exemple, they have reappeared since the two woods (bois de Boulogne and bois de Vincennes) have become closed at night. - inactive, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Really, there are plenty of crack whores who would do it for 20 bucks.
- page2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2#3 is completely misleading, because Japanese sex businesses often see foreigners as a source of sexually transmitted disease, and most of them won't let gaijin (foreigners) in. The guys who stand out in the street trying to get people to come in to Soaplands avoid eye contact with non-Japanese, and even people of Japanese descent are often kicked out if the operators detect a foreign accent. So #3 would require a lot of research into which clubs (if any) allow gaijin, and even if you find a gaijin-friendly club you have to speak Japanese fairly well or they might refuse entry (ahem) anyway.
- inactive, on 06/02/2008, -2/+4You're thinking about Thailand.
I wonder if the founders of Bangkok knew what kind of businesses would end up there. >_> - nominalgeek, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3I think you fail to see the point.
- ep53, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2You will fly half way around the world to pay $1000 to get washed by a hooker? Isn't there somewhere closer to home you can get that done?
