- TomEEE, on 11/14/2007, -17/+350they just dont make kids the same way they used to
- gmprunner, on 11/14/2007, -28/+280Man, that's screwed. Kid does something stupid, teacher reacts rashly, and somehow gains a fatal injury to his spine. Sounds more like bad luck than anything.
- shagg187, on 11/14/2007, -39/+264Such arrogant responses in this page. None of you live in India or have been in India, yet you "complain" and "make jokes" that Chuck Norris should be the teacher or why they don't Home school kids. Be glad you guys are living in the "land of the free" (yea right). Not everyone can afford in this world. Alot of people are poor in India and it's neighboring countries. The education system is not up to the standard, the "beating" is a common thing there. Infact, i don't even think he got slapped. I think he was beaten considering slapping is the least they do to kids. People who can afford send their kids to private schools where the education system is better. People who can't afford send their kids to whatever is available for the least price and the teachers are illiterate and uneducated. Be glad you people get better education and spill your ***** and Chuck Norris jokes here in digg. I can go on and on about how NOT funny it is to make fun of situation like these just to get your e-penis an inch longer. You don't have balls to express your freedom of speech in real-life and then your 2-cent bedroom critic shows up and talks behind keyboard. No wonder your president is a ***** monkey. But then again. im pretty sure i'll get a "buried" and "Internet: Serious Business" response.
- cococooky, on 11/13/2007, -33/+228Home schooling means you miss out on the most important thing about school - the development of social skills.
- thebillgonadz, on 11/14/2007, -29/+183That'll teach him.

- noahhoward, on 11/12/2007, -9/+107Broke his spine... I'd say that's the full-wind up backhanded twisting bitch-slap™
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -11/+104You realize this happened in India, right? Did you watch the video?
- cgruber, on 11/14/2007, -28/+106He died on the operating table. But hey it's digg who cares.
- xSet, on 11/14/2007, -18/+92Do we know if it was a back hand or just a normal slap?
- ripple123, on 11/12/2007, -4/+61Who slaps a kid hard enough to knock them over? Seriously
- thunderwolf333, on 11/12/2007, -4/+58Thank you for talking some sense.
- nextyoyoma, on 11/12/2007, -29/+78alright, there's a lot of digging down going on on this page...but I want to be dugg down the most! Let's go people!

You know I think I was supposed to be insulted by that line but somehow I find it hilarious because it's true. Maybe we made fun of you because despite all our advantages we still elected a monkey into office. India is poor and 51% of the US voters are brain dead so we're about even. - jbrown101st, on 11/11/2007, -6/+32Do you even know what your talking about?
- Cerpin_Taxt, on 11/11/2007, -0/+21That kid is ***** brutal. I thought i was socially deficent.
- bmartin, on 11/11/2007, -2/+23I've been a US citizen for 24 years and spent three months working in India. After my visit to India, I can tell you that they don't "make" people there the way they do in the west. Every day is a struggle for the people of India; many of them survive on a couple USD per day, For $1, you can get a gourmet meal over there, yet most people are so poor they can't obtain many of the nutrients they need to be healthy. India's an up-and-coming country, but most of the population is still poor and rural.
I can't tell you how many people I saw that had difficulty walking due to malnutrition in youth. Many people get just enough sustenance to get by. On top of that, people don't raise their voice at one another. It's hard to believe when you're from the US, like I am, but people... express their anger differently in India. They have a lot more patience. Violence is almost non-existent as a part of everyday life. I can't say if it has always been their way of life or whether Gandhi had a large part to play in that, but has their universal respect.
Something like this incident is the exception to the rule. Most of the people you'll see over there look so frail that one good whack is all it'd take to do serious harm. Compared to them, we're so bulky and angry that it seems we can endure infinite punishment. If you can't understand, you don't know what it means to be dirt poor. - noahhoward, on 11/11/2007, -5/+25Yeah because slapping always ends in fatalities. 'Wrongfully' is a matter of opinion by the way.
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -1/+21Look at the size of their population. There's always something going on if someone in the media wants to find it and report it.
- ThinkBox, on 11/14/2007, -1/+20I think that is just internet tough guy stuff... most people on digg get dugg up for humor or relating things to memes and other inside jokes. There is no real discussion, and very few times to I actually learn anything from the comments in a digg story.
Diggers have been trained to react to humor and digg it. That is pretty much it. Its sad, I'd like this to be a cool forum for discussion, but it mostly turns to mob rule, mob jokes, etc. - k4f123, on 11/12/2007, -2/+21I'm quite surprised to see that shagg187 is the only person here with a decent response. If any of you posting these ignorant comments ever lost a family member in a needless and tragic way such as this one, you would realize how incredibly painful a loss like this can be. My heart goes out to this poor boy's family.
- bradpurchase, on 06/12/2008, -0/+19Oh for ***** sake...
- inactive, on 11/12/2007, -8/+27That's not true for all home schoolers.
A lot of my friends are home schooled, and they have absolutely no trouble socializing at all, they actually make friends pretty easily. Think before you post such generalizing statements. - inactive, on 11/11/2007, -16/+33It's because America is going to attack India in a few years and is starting to pile on the justification now.
- euro22, on 12/17/2008, -3/+18Ha! You're mind tricks don't work on me! I'm still digging you down!
- shortarabguy, on 11/11/2007, -1/+15Was I the only one who got the impression that dewildeman is saying that the kid should have died because he couldn't take a spine-injuring smack to the face?
- mtrip, on 11/14/2007, -8/+22Americans are heartless and cruel and completely lack empathy. At least that's the view digg gives.
- Humptydank, on 11/11/2007, -0/+14Thanks for that glimpse into your process.
- laserman92027, on 11/11/2007, -5/+18OMG WHAT A GEEK - He will never find a girl.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -3/+16No reason to hit a child? Have you ever even seen a kid?
- saisumimen, on 11/11/2007, -2/+15You don't learn *that* at public school.
- Rustymetal, on 11/11/2007, -0/+13maybe they should drink more milk and less soda
- swoopdog, on 11/11/2007, -4/+16lol wtf?
- inactive, on 11/11/2007, -0/+12It was a joke, idiot.
- shortarabguy, on 11/11/2007, -1/+13This sounds like a pretty strong smack... I've never seen anyone killed by a slap.
The teacher went way too far with whatever force( I'm assuming) he was using. The kid forged his parent's signature. I did that tons of times in school. It was always something stupid and I had forgotten to ask them or it just wasn't important. Granted, he( and I) should have been punished, but this kid died as a result of that punishment. That's just not fair. - HappyScrappy, on 11/11/2007, -1/+12Yeah, it was being on TV that made him ask if she pronounced his name wrong. Or made him pull his arms up in that geek way.
- mrurc, on 11/12/2007, -8/+19He died on the operating table while doctors were attempting to repair the damage done by the slap. It sounded like the slap disconnected his head from his neck or otherwise broke his neck, either of which is usually fatal, even if he makes it to the operating table. But hey, it's digg, who cares?
Look, I can punctuate, in addition to having critical thinking skills! - ctrlv, on 11/11/2007, -2/+13(don't slap me bro)
- cococooky, on 11/11/2007, -7/+18I think you were paying attention to the wrong things, my friend. The vast majority of humans are good people, its a shame you have to look down on them.
- pikpikcarrotmon, on 11/11/2007, -5/+16Maddox sez: If your children don't cower in fear when you come home from work, you've failed as a parent. I suppose teacher applies too - clearly that student won't be forging his parents' signatures anymore.
- mrurc, on 11/11/2007, -5/+16But he was homeschooled. He can't figure out things like "other languages" and "accents" and "modes of dress." Don't stress him out like that!
- Todesengelvr6, on 11/11/2007, -0/+11bitch better have your homework!
- AceLy, on 11/11/2007, -0/+11Maybe it was a punch and the kid was not able to refute the teacher's claims.
