- aspangenberg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+53This could be a cool font.
- Domza, on 10/12/2007, -7/+52Not at all. I used to work part time in a butchers shop before i became a lawyer. The browning on the capital B in the close up means that the ground beef is old, and has been exposed to the air for a long time - its loses its moisture content and starts to go stale that way.
I'd suggest avoiding the letter B tonight. - Cruelapollo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43Because when I buy my meat, I like to frame it and stick it on the wall for all to see.
- diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -6/+43Hold on, let me use the Diggulator 5000 and I'll tell you the next ten stories on the front page.

Yeah that and the fact they went out of date 2 years ago. - kcmedic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33Can anyone make a font out of this?
- Seth024, on 10/12/2007, -7/+33Do I get a discount if I buy all 26 letters??
- openyoureyes17, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28no mashed potato frosting???
- dasutin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24If they packaged meat like this, I would mess with the customers and spell out MAD COW when I put it on the shelf. You can see teenagers spelling out all sorts of stuff and messing with the supermarket.
- JTtheXIII, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22someone has too much beef/time on his hands
- serpanterra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21You can never have too much beef time!
- ross., on 10/12/2007, -2/+17You forgot the most popular..
11. APPLE ______ UN-BOXING PHOTOS!! FIRST L@@K!! - coffeebot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Next thing you know, PETA will be calling Campbell's Alphabet Soup the gateway alphabet. Spells trouble, in my book.
- moiremusic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@crillbilly: Have you ever used Photoshop? If someone worked at a meat counter, it would be *way* easier to package 36 piles of meat than try to digitally create realistically shaped and shaded letters out of meat with perfect and varying glares from the packaging that follow the contours of the meat texture and wrinkles of the stretched portions and... oh crap, I could go on and on. There's no "make alphabet out of meat" filter.
- lpcustom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14You forgot
12. Something that's 10 years old but just now being discovered by the current generation of teens on the net.
Edit: damn you ross! Took my Number 11 spot. - PRocker267, on 10/12/2007, -6/+19In soviet russia, beef spells you!
- dnthomps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Did you guys figure out who did this?
I did: http://pub.realm304.com/PETA.gif - crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Hey kids! Today's E. Coli is brought to you by the letters 'B' and 'O'!
- Pluckie, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13yum
- captainpete, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Yum indeed. Reminds me of summer BBQ's. I live in VT and have to drive by cows all the time, so I usually go for the free range meat though. Carnivore for Life!
- Obsidian743, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10@rompom7 - That was some of the dumbest, made up ***** I've ever read. All of it.
- Netrilix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I live in New England, and around here we mostly call it hamburg.
- Dradis, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12I wish they actually sold beef like this, it's so much more interesting than just a lump of ground beef.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10If this makes a Vegan cry... I'm all for it!
Mmmm BEEF - Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Just curious, but isn't that stuff called minced meat in English? Or is it some British/American regional variety thing?
- caution, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6If we resort to spelling things with our beef, the terrorists have already won.
- julienbh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Dugg just to reach the 26th digg
- openyoureyes17, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yup
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minced_meat - Cwo655321, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the alphabet has never looked so delicious
- rickytan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@rompom
Not Giant Food Stores, each package has it's very own label with correct weight. It's not that impossible to think ABC weigh the same. This is absolutely from someone who works there because no one in their right mind would have the time to photoshop this to that great of detail.
Also LOL Giant. - Barryke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I call it Gehakt (nl), others call it Hackfleisch (de), Hakkliha (et), Carne picada (es), Viandhaketaĵo (eo), 挽肉 (ja), Kjøttdeig (no), or Köttfärs (se).
- namit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3whats the most expensive one in weight?
- lazyeyesam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Or just mince... not sure how often anyone's called it 'ground beef' in the region I'm from.
- omgomgomg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6this was dugg? what's next? no, seriously, what's next.
- m3t00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If they could make sliced cheese shaped like the burger it would be a gold mine.
- yournamehere, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4this burger brought to you by the letter 'K' and the number '3'
- po43292, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The letters are PEOPLE! but not the numbers.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Someone's got problems...
- holyskeleton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2correct title: why is America fat.
- razrielle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3because dig is a social bookmarking site, not a news site
- razrielle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3gah, I ment digg, sorry, very early for me
- jonesyb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yes that is correct. Or sometimes it's called 'Ground Beef'. However I understand that is a term from the USA which we borrow from time to time.
- Duhitsmichael, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@rompom7
Your blood is always red... - thescimitar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@kdavyd
Close, but no cigar. It wasn't photoshop that caused the duplicity, it was the photo stylist. He/She simply used the same labels over and over again, as you can tell in the way the labels become more damaged between shots. Photoshopping texture, over translucent plastic, over glare, is damned near impossible. But good eyes on noticing the styllist's laziness. - Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20xDEADBEEF
(Someone better get this) - robojames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1better yet, can someone make a serifed version of this?
- rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not dugg at all to leave at 26 diggs.
- moofer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2wow - the alphabet they made up looks surprisingly like the one we're using here.
- bluenash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ha ha i get it now
