I was in full "tongue in cheek" mode. Didn't Poland get the memo? This "gay teletubbie" story is at least 8 years old.
From the article:
"Poland's deputy speaker of parliament Ludwik Dorn, a conservative Catholic, reprimanded Sowinska, telling her to avoid public statements that could make the ombudsman's office look "ridiculous," said Dorn's spokesman Witold Lisicki."
Too late! - EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4@subman, this appears to be new. Check the date on the article.
- EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Falwell thought he was going to heaven. Instead, he got sent to Poland, and turned into a woman.
Frankly, I wish he'd been turned into a pink teletubby. - ciaocibai, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Well, I have to say I'm not the biggest Teletubbies fan, but the following quote comes to mind:
'I may disagree with what you say but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it'
'Nuff said. - Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I bet it'll be a deep-probing investigation, where they'll plunge the depths of Tinky Winkys depravity, brutally penetrating the hole issue of how teh gay agenda in childrens shows molests the sweet, innocent, nubile, little children.
I bet there'll be catholic priests involved as well. - toddcat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3They could ask Falwell...oh...wait.....
- Phrag, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2How does a fictional character that never has sex (unless I missed that episode) and lives with several other fictional characters that have no easily identified sexuality, sexual identitity, gender or even genetalia; promote any sexuality of any kind let alone homosexuality?
- DiggMasterJ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1let's find out.
- YaDigIt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Can you honestly say that you don't associate people's voices with a person, or feeling? TV commercials, movies, radio DJ's, any media associates voice with a certain theme, tone, or image. The voices of the teletubbies will no doubt have some kind of ramification to the child's idea of those voices, colors and overall imagery. So can we say that a clearly male voiced purple teletubby carrying a bag will have no influence on the child's preference for bags? Compound that with the not so clear Po's sex. The hugging, and the non articulate English, and repetition of things, I believe this show is not the most intellectually stimulating show for kids, but rather a stupifying one.
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3The poles are a bit slow on the uptake, aren't they?
I wonder how long it'll take them to find out, like Falwell did, that Tinky Winky is female?
I pity Poland. No sooner have they thrown off the shackles of communism before they're under the thumb of repressive religion.
