Pilot, flight attendant arrested after romp in woods
chicagotribune.com — Jeffrey Paul Bradford, 24, and Adrianna Grace Connor, 24, both employees of Pinnacle Airlines Inc., were at a diner on the outskirts of Harrisburg on Sunday night before they apparently decided to walk into the woods, police said. "They told the officer they wanted to go do it in the woods, essentially," said Lower Swatara Township police...

- borez, on 05/21/2008, -1/+27What, you've never had sex outdoors mate?
Actually wait...forgot I was on digg for a minute there- VitriolAndAngst, on 05/21/2008, -0/+7I'm sure sex while not on a computer, would be novel in itself.
Sex outdoors -- well, first step first, right? - oxdeltaxo, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Sex outdoors is fun and kinda kinky, the thrill of getting caught is half the fun.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 05/21/2008, -0/+7I'm sure sex while not on a computer, would be novel in itself.
- mnemy, on 05/21/2008, -0/+15Nothin wrong with a little woodland sexy time. Those police have no sense of humor. They should have gotten a slap on the wrist, some public embarrassment, and sent on their way
- blackinthmiddle, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I initially thought the same thing you did. They probably would have done that if the office was the one that initially saw them. However, it was the neighbors. So there's a phone call and a record. The question after that will always be, "did the police follow protocol?"
Police are often maligned for not following a consistent policy."I like you so I'm letting you go." "You're a fat, pudgy dude so I'm arresting you." They broke out the heat vision helicopter so it's a safe bet that their superiors made that call and were involved the whole time. The cops probably were not in a position to come back afterwards and say, "Ah, let them off with a warning."

- sjl127, on 05/21/2008, -1/+7The police hit them with a string of ridiculous charges. They did nothing wrong, jeesh. Can't have fun anymore. And, I'd hit it.
- brundlefly76, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1What police department mobilizes a ***** heat-seeking helicopter for a naked man report?
A gay one, maybe.

- listerinemouth, on 05/21/2008, -1/+7Some cop will steal it in jail, then.
- greytfriend, on 05/21/2008, -0/+11If I were doing it in the woods at night, I sure wouldn't take off my watch. Try finding that in a hurry in the dark.

- ericmerrill, on 05/21/2008, -1/+30He was doing well until they called in heat-sinking technology. I mean, come on. Not to sound like a police-state conspirator, but you should be able to bang in the woods without worrying about high-tech helicopters tracking you down. I weep for the next generation.
- dkapuchino, on 05/21/2008, -7/+1On the other hand, you get caught having sex in the woods, but the cops also catch that drunk 15 year old getting raped in the woods as well.
- popfrogs, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Yeah, you gotta watch out for that high tech HEAT SINKING technology. Your core may bleed off too much heat.
- darlyn, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Did you skip the article?? The police were called in because one of the nieghboors saw a NAKED man and a DRUNK woman running by their house next to the woods. I don't know about you, but I would most be at least discomforted if I saw some dude taking a brisk walk with his wally-wag flopping around and his drunken accomplice stumbling by.
Oh, and the girl also stole a flashlight from a vehicle.
That said, I think having the airline initiate an investigation is ridiculous.- ericmerrill, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I did read that. I've seen weirder...and laughed.
- thcobbs, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Nah, the mistake was not allowing the little birdie to join in...

- sofaKing812, on 05/21/2008, -3/+27You have to be pretty god damn drunk to get lost in the woods while trying to "do it." I want to know their blood alcohol level.

- netant, on 05/21/2008, -1/+3Who the hell are you? John Rambo?
Its in the middle of the freaking NIGHT, in a woods both people were UTTERLY unfamiliar with. You can get lost in the woods during the DAYTIME if its large enough not to see signs of civilization.- Merendino, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1But the point is, how do you lose your clothes?! You take them off RIGHT WHERE YOU HAVE SEX, or at least in the same general vicinity. And who the ***** thinks... ***** i've looked for my clothes now for 10 minutes, ***** it, I'll just run outta the woods naked.... thats a MUCH better option. I guess I've never been THAT drunk and still standing, let alone, wandering around in the woods.
- YoshinoAiki, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Except they also lost their clothes and were seen by people living in the area. That doesn't sound like they were deep in the forest, just really stupidly drunk.
- gurudrew, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Yeah, if you lose track of your partner during sex you're probably doing it wrong.
- Merendino, on 05/21/2008, -0/+11Came to the comments specifically to ask that question. How the ***** do you get lost in the woods and separated from each other. And how did he lose his clothing?

- ElSnuggles, on 05/21/2008, -2/+16It shouldn't matter what his job is, just like he shouldn't be suspended from his job for this act unless there is a policy against pilots and flight attendants having relationships.
I'm sick of hearing about teachers canned for putting on a bikini and stuff like this. What people do in their free time is not their company's business.- Merendino, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1While I agree mostly with what you said. There are circumstances that warrant people being fired from their jobs, when they do something stupid at home.
Say there's a Pedophiliac teacher. He/She needs to not be a teacher any longer. But in the case of the pilot running around naked drunk and wanting to *****, you are absolutely correct. - YoshinoAiki, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5A lot of companies don't like it when you get arrested for stuff. They probably also wouldn't want the bad PR of employing pilots dumb enough to run around drunk and naked in other people's backyards.

- 9TailedFox, on 05/21/2008, -2/+19Cop mentality- I ain't getting any, neither should anyone else.
- captric, on 05/21/2008, -3/+7Cops were enforcing the law after people called and complained. The cops probably got a good laugh out of it. They dont MAKE the law they just enforce them. In addition - they might have saved this guy and his girlfriend from harm since they were so drunk they could not een find their clothes or their way back. Incidentally, anyone here who thinks the cops are dumb and they they are smarter than cops plays right into the hands of law enforcement. Cops capitalize on the perception that they are dumb and catch criminals DAILY that think they can outsmart the cops.
- vexingmodstwo, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Very true. That was meant as more tongue in cheek. I appreciate all the police do. I just meant to say that the cop could have just told them to put their clothes back on and scram instead of booking them.

- Hetman, on 05/21/2008, -2/+25I can understand the indecent exposure charge. But do they really need to suspend them from work and be charged with public intoxication? It seems like a little much to me. It is not like they hurt anyone and I imagine that embarrasement of being arrested naked was bad enough.
- subscriber, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5Since it was a pilot and flight attendant together, it may have happened on a layover. That raises the question of whether they were drinking past the "eight hour bottle-to-throttle" rule. The company has suspended them in order to investigate, and I'm sure that will be an issue.
Also, if they were on a layover, the company may consider that the pair brought public discredit on the image and reputation of Pinnacle Airlines. There is probably language about that in the company's rulebook.

- tnoo, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1I agree. Why didn't I hear about this locally? Not like there's anything else going on around here now.
- gak001, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Maybe the Patriot didn't find it quite as amusing? or appropriate? Central PA can be prude-central on occasion.
- MISking, on 05/21/2008, -1/+10Too bad the watch wasn't indiglo, he could have found his way out of the woods.
- gak001, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Dugg for Indiglo - oh to be in elementary school with the coolest watch ever again.
- eyebits, on 05/21/2008, -8/+125Oh come on... I am so sick of a society that would arrest someone for doing this. Who cares if they are in the woods having sex? Good for them! Who cares if they were drunk? It was probably some stiff, old, uptight, frigid person who called the police. Damn it, leave people alone who are having fun. The fact that you don't know how to have fun doesn't mean other people shouldn't have fun.
- captainanndor, on 05/21/2008, -2/+48I could understand calling the cops, if you're sitting at home with your kids, look out the window, and see a naked man running around. That's a bit too bizarre to just shrug off and ignore.
But calling a heat seeking helicopter?? Come on! That seems ridiculous! Like something out of a stupid action movie. Arresting them seems a little overprotective too, but suspending them from work? Were they doing this on company time? Would they have shown up for work late or drunk?
If their weekend escapades wouldn't have impacted their job performance, they shouldn't be disciplined at work.- kanabiis, on 05/21/2008, -0/+6Damn sex offenders have ruined it for the normal people.
- Killwize, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5Damn normal people have ruined it for the normal people. (they did not make the laws or the excessive attitude)
- captainanndor, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2I'd have to agree with Killwize (if I'm interpreting his/her comment correctly).
It's the rest of society that is over-acting or just behaving stupidly. I doubt the pilot and flight attendant were sex offenders. They just made a bad judgement call and were stupid enough to get caught.
Yes, the community seems to have over-reacted, but that still doesn't make their decision to go have drunken sex in the woods in a residential community a good idea.
I wonder if there have been any studies done lately, though, about whether the numbers of sex offenders crimes have gone up dramatically in recent times, or if our current society of "oh god we're victims someone help us" we're just reacting more loudly and more violently.
Like, are there more kidnappings, or are people just being more irresponsible with their children, or is everything the same as always and kidnappings are more publicized?
I don't really want to give an impression of "oh, she asked for it/deserved it" but if there is an increase in sexual offenses, IS it related to the fact that "fashion" is becoming more and more slutty, showing more and more skin, focused more and more on women being sexual objects? As a mid-twenties female, I feel gross just looking at magazine pictures of what is expected of me. And now we've got bikinis for toddlers and elementary school girl clothes with "hottie" written on the ass of their mini skirts.
Wtf society.
I went on a tangent, I apologize. - kanabiis, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2My sex offenders have ruined it for everyone was more of a comment about the fact that people see naked man in the woods and think the worst, due to the rampant sex offenders. I didn't mean to imply that the couple were sex offenders, rather that they are normal, and the fears of sex offenders is what got them caught.
Hope that helps =)
- Killwize, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1Amen! I feel the same why with teens and high-school.
- captainanndor, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I'd be even more against it for teens and high school, because now the school is doing the parent's job.
If a kid attends a wild party over the weekend and gets drunk and embarrasses him/herself, but does not cause any damage, hurt anyone, etc.... the school should butt out.
I could see expelling/suspending MAYBE if they hurt other students, damaged school property, were on school property, etc.
It's not a school's job to babysit students, it's the parents'. School is for educating.
Although on the flip side I do see why school's have to do this more and more. I remember in high school there were always those stupid, obnoxious, failing kids. The parents obviously didn't give a ***** what sort of trouble their kids were into or if they were failing. So someone has to step up and make sure the kids aren't going to disrupt and ruin everyone else's education, or hold everyone else back.
- captainanndor, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I'd be even more against it for teens and high school, because now the school is doing the parent's job.

- dgulbran, on 05/21/2008, -1/+28Sex in the woods? Who cares. But did you *read* the article?? The guy was naked, wandering around a *neighborhood* drunk. And the female was taking stuff from cars--even if was just a flashlight to find their way home...
You know, I'm all for fun. But if I see a naked, drunk guy wandering around my neighborhood, and another naked chick, rummaging through cars, you're damn right I'm calling someone. Sheesh. It's not about being a prude, it's about some goddamn common sense. - ktk1336, on 05/21/2008, -2/+9As a former resident of the Harrisburg area, I can attest that many people there are in fact some combination of stiff, old, uptight, & frigid.
- ell0bo, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1yes, and I can't wait to get out. If only I didn't have a job I love...

- captainanndor, on 05/21/2008, -2/+48I could understand calling the cops, if you're sitting at home with your kids, look out the window, and see a naked man running around. That's a bit too bizarre to just shrug off and ignore.
- TheJas, on 05/21/2008, -0/+35They are only 24. It's not that weird at 24 to get drunk and do ridiculous things. They just got caught.
- toracubed, on 05/21/2008, -7/+14You're arresting people for having sex?
- LaBella023, on 05/21/2008, -2/+12in someone's backyard???? are you for real? if i walked into my yard one night and some some drunken idiot in nothing but flip flops behind my shed i'd probably freak out. sex is always ok...as long as your not scaring other people.
- cdahlkvist, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4"sex is always ok...as long as you['re] not scaring other people"
I guess that eliminates me.
- cdahlkvist, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4"sex is always ok...as long as you['re] not scaring other people"

- RemovesTime, on 05/21/2008, -1/+5Gather rosebuds while you can, eh? I wish I had done it in the woods.
- kreatre2007, on 05/21/2008, -8/+47Why is sex so offensive? I don't get it.
- lolmacs, on 05/21/2008, -3/+23Because this is Christian America and we would rather have violent movies and games than see someones boobs an naughty bits
- fxu1989, on 05/21/2008, -1/+14Welcome to Bible-Thumping Country!
- DeadlyTedly, on 05/21/2008, -1/+4I find this hilarious simply because I'd totally be in jail for something like this if I lived south of the cool border.
- Shoebox639, on 05/21/2008, -1/+10sex is only offense to those who aren't having it.
- mCanada, on 05/21/2008, -1/+9Because in the earlier part of Christianity circa 8th century(?)+ many of those who held power within the church were engaged in sexual acts with women. This however allowed women of "questionable position" to attain influence within the church. It was realized that women were attaining power within the church through their sexuality. The Church not exactly one to give power up further demonized any pre-existing perceptions about sex
to ensure that the lower minions didn't divulge any secrets / power. By demonizing the act , they could control when it happened and thus keep control of the flock. - spwpi10, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Because they were in someone's backyard.
- kreatre2007, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1In that case, just sit back and watch! It beats a movie :)
- neems25, on 05/21/2008, -3/+7He's got game
- porkdanish, on 05/21/2008, -2/+10Why don't they do it in the road?
- kahakauai, on 05/21/2008, -0/+58How do you.... in the middle of having sex.... get seperated from each other? Like, pulled it out and stuck it in the ground by accident? Then she got up and started wandering around aimlessly looking for that missing piece of man?
They must have been smashed lol- Theisos, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Lol!!! Two Points!!
- Marinium, on 05/21/2008, -0/+8I was wondering the same thing? Separated?????
- blackinthmiddle, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3I doubt that they ever started if they were that drunk.
- Hangly, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Do they need to?
- diggopolous, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Google the term "Angry Pirate"
- iranewb, on 05/21/2008, -17/+2Old news .....
See yesterday's link on Fark.

I believe someone even found pics. of the chic.- mnemy, on 05/21/2008, -1/+9Yesterday is old news? Some of us dont scour every new site out there for breaking happened-5-minutes-ago news
- fahrvergnuugen, on 05/21/2008, -1/+6"Uh... what article do you wanna read?"
You Fail- ColonelTribune, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Failure is not an option.
- cdahlkvist, on 05/21/2008, -1/+2http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink ...
Not sure if that pics is really her but if it is I'd gladly taxi my plane into her hangar.- dorkino, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2That's the pic from her MySpace page
- BryanG412, on 05/21/2008, -1/+3They so crazy!
- spunkmyer, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Hey I bet he offered her a free 'tic' check and she took him up on it.
- elliotys, on 05/21/2008, -1/+13In my opinion, No harm= No foul. I mean seriously, is this what we use our helicopters with heat-seeking vision for?
- mnemy, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5Could've been the drunk nakid guy who could have potentially died in the wilderness seeing how he didn't have the wits to keep tabs on the woman he planned to do nature-style, much less the wits to survive in the wild
I mean, I think the police have wayyy over-reacted, but I can see how they wanted to spot the guy for his own good.- gurudrew, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Dear Government,
Stop trying to protect us from ourselves. Darwin's Law will take care of it.
Signed,
The people with common sense
- gurudrew, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Dear Government,
- DDBdestroyer, on 05/21/2008, -0/+6this is the exact reason we payed for expensive heat-seeking helicopters - to find ourselves when we do this
- mnemy, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5Could've been the drunk nakid guy who could have potentially died in the wilderness seeing how he didn't have the wits to keep tabs on the woman he planned to do nature-style, much less the wits to survive in the wild
- chrisduser, on 05/21/2008, -2/+15I see nothing wrong with public nudity and intercourse.
- camel2021, on 05/21/2008, -1/+6How is this news?
- bocaJWho, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Even by Digg standards, I agree. Buried as lame.
- judicar, on 05/21/2008, -0/+12Drunk, naked and lost in the woods ... sounds like every date I've ever been on.
- MysticSavage, on 05/21/2008, -1/+3You forgot the part about the dead hooker.
- Foot56, on 05/21/2008, -2/+62 trees 1 couple?
- IlMagnifico, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3No, 1 couple, no wood.
- xxgigavirusxx, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4So whens the second date?
- DeathAndTaxes, on 05/21/2008, -0/+23How did they get separated? Isn't that like, the exact OPPOSITE of what they were trying to do?
You fail at sex. Please try again.- anatraj, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Actually, it's probably best if they don't try again. Who knows what other crazy, drunken, night wanderings might occur.
- ForceBlast, on 05/21/2008, -1/+4Yeah, I agree that tracking these two down was a complete waste of resources. Seriously, how uptight are people when you break out the helicopter to find a naked couple having a little fun in the woods. Who really cares?!
- Amack77, on 05/21/2008, -7/+1I'm so confused, how is this anywhere near the front page?
- LZeppelinJ0, on 05/21/2008, -7/+2Never saw so many people trying post "one-liners" in the comments thinking they are funny. Maybe one day you'll get noticed.
- RonBurgundy76, on 05/21/2008, -2/+2Sadly, you will not... as you're buried.
- Demener, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Some of us have all comments turned on!
- TheClassic, on 05/21/2008, -1/+3Everybody complaining about the situation (as an overreaction) probably didn't read the article, doesn't have a family, or both. The police were called when residents of the neighborhood saw a naked man and a intoxicated woman wandering around. I would probably call the police too, its better safe than sorry.
- SFJoe, on 05/21/2008, -2/+3Yes, but would you want them to use a helicopter costing ~ $1,000/hr ? Since you have a family, wouldn't those tax dollars better go to your children's education than protecting them from possibly seeing a naked drunk man?
- spwpi10, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I would like the naked drunk man to get home safely rather than freeze outside in the woods. I'm cool with them using the helicopter.
- Abomonog, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Yeah the reaction was idiotic. They broke out the 'copter to do what a few fellows on foot could have done. Find a guy behind a shed. Waste of money and resources.
- SFJoe, on 05/21/2008, -2/+3Yes, but would you want them to use a helicopter costing ~ $1,000/hr ? Since you have a family, wouldn't those tax dollars better go to your children's education than protecting them from possibly seeing a naked drunk man?
- Bunnybutt, on 05/21/2008, -6/+2" His only attire was a pair of flip-flops and a wristwatch"...Ha! Classic!!
- MikeonTV, on 05/21/2008, -6/+1She stole a fleshlight out of a car?
- Killwize, on 05/21/2008, -2/+9Am I the only one that thinks that 2 animals have a god given right to have sex in the woods, no matter how 'smart' they are? (read; human)
- Hetman, on 05/21/2008, -1/+7I agree and the same can be said about relieving yourself. Seriously if I have to pee I should be able to go behind a tree a relieve myself. As long as I am not waving my wang around frantically I do not see why that should be against the law.
- YoshinoAiki, on 05/21/2008, -2/+1Sure, but when you are hiding behind people's sheds in the nude and stealing flashlights out of cars.... I think most people would call the cops if other people (naked or not) were stealing stuff out of their car.
Of course, I would off an attractive naked woman food and shelter -- screw the cops!
- o0JoeCool0o, on 05/21/2008, -0/+12Im so glad "A helicopter with heat-seeking equipment was called in," or my god these peopl could have got away with having sex in a.. forest.. obscured by trees and a shed. Cant imagine a better way to spend tax payers money.
- londubh, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2Well the guy had a heat seeking moisture missile and it didn't help him find the girl.
- norcalscan, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I'm so glad the helicopter had a heat-seeking device on it or it would be a worthless waste of tax-payer money. Not sure how many times I've seen "heat-seeking helicopter" mentioned in these comments. Just about every law enforcement copter has night-vision cameras and/or lights that will give you a sunburn a mile away.
- martoq, on 05/21/2008, -2/+6The relevance of them working for an airline is what exactly? Would we care if they were garbage men?
- atgmac, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Well if he was going to fly a plane in a few hours then I'd care.
- djangoxl, on 05/21/2008, -0/+7Am I getting old, or is it impossible to just screw a girl WITHOUT alcohol involved?
- RonBurgundy76, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4This could be restated as an 'and' question and still be valid. :)
- VBDon, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2If she's attractive, she has to be drunk. If she's not attractive, you have to be drunk. Those are the rules. I didn't make'em. They're just there.
- djangoxl, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Ha ha ha, You've made my day:-)
- djangoxl, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Ha ha ha, You've made my day:-)
- kahakauai, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1You sir... have not found any of the right girls if that is the case... :P
