- shanehonda, on 05/19/2009, -11/+157A little more transparency. Good on him.
- nwlinkvxd, on 11/14/2008, -1/+139Not backward-compatible with FDR 1.1
- Jareth86, on 11/15/2008, -2/+110Coming soon: Obama reacts to 2girls1cup.
- DanteDefiance, on 11/14/2008, -4/+100Pretty cool! If there's one thing we've learned from this election, it's that Obama and crew know how to reach the youth of America (and those that are not ***** senile). He's on Digg, he has his own official iPhone application, and now he'll be the first president to reach out to us through the internet.
It would be really funny if he responded to comments on his youtube vids.
"LAWLZ I totally nailed that video! Did u guyz hear de new Kanye?!?!?" - jasdf, on 11/15/2008, -0/+90YouTube comments are the scum of the internet, it makes me sick to see the total nonsense that people spew.
- Attol, on 11/15/2008, -3/+90I want Obama's weekly addresses to be in Zero Punctuation format.

- Inoeth, on 11/14/2008, -7/+78This is excellent news and is very cleaver. He will really reign in the younger generations and will make the white house far more transparent.
- bboyjkang, on 11/14/2008, -8/+73all politicians should be doing this
Obama should do a "digg dialogue" format where he responds to the most-voted questions/comments - gcnaddict, on 11/15/2008, -4/+67This is the modern version of the fireside chat.
It's about time we had a president who talked to the people of the nation he serves again. - inactive, on 11/15/2008, -5/+58Hey.. this is cool. I can't wait till the President's official public addresses are grounded with real world comments such as "***** niggurz" and "O RLY?"
- hopefuel, on 11/14/2008, -1/+54In coherent sentences no less.
- geoffg, on 11/15/2008, -2/+51very cleaver indeed.

- sp89, on 11/15/2008, -1/+38Actually, most Digg users have something either useful, educated or funny to say. With some exceptions, Digg comments usually make my day.

- Shogi, on 11/15/2008, -5/+35Do you even know what Socialism is? Because usually the only ones who make statements like that are the morons that don't understand and are just repeating what the anti-Obama critics cooked up during the campaign.
- Ultraviolet98, on 11/15/2008, -1/+30And he's a terrorist!!11!1one
- cuevas4711, on 11/15/2008, -3/+31how so?
- DirtyVicar, on 11/15/2008, -1/+29Digg comments are light years ahead of the moronic ***** comments on YouTube.
- reva, on 11/15/2008, -1/+28With any luck, they'll disable comments. Maybe just open up an email account for input or something, if they want feedback. That way there will be a second step for people to think about what they're saying before they send it.

- WorldLeader, on 11/15/2008, -0/+22"There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk -- that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras -- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover. The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments." --George W. Bush -- July 2008
To be fair, he's trying... - riyehn, on 11/15/2008, -0/+22Weekly presidential Redtube address?

Hugo Chavez also breathes air and lives on Earth. He eats and sleeps, too. Everyone that falls under any one of these categories MUST be evil, right?
Obama hasn't even been sworn into office yet -- he's the president-elect -- Get over the hype of the election and reserve judgment until you see what Obama does once he gets into office....
Just sayin'.... - ScottMitchell, on 11/15/2008, -0/+19Did you know that for most of the last century every President recorded a weekly radio address? Each week Bush records a weekly radio address, and before him, Clinton, and so on. So I don't see why they wouldn't make it all four years. This is just a more up-to-date a hipper version of the weekly radio address. In fact, I'd wager that the audio from the recording is what will go out in the weekly radio address.
And FYI, you can subscribe to the current President's weekly radio addresses at the following podcast:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/rss/radioaddress.xml - gcnaddict, on 11/15/2008, -0/+19Yes it does. It allows for interaction, which is something a weekly radio address does not allow for. Just like how fireside chats were the first time a president would talk directly and frequently to those he governs, this is the first time people can actually directly reply to a president's address.
- jasdf, on 11/15/2008, -1/+19If you knew that, you could be a multimillionaire.
