ajaxflakes.com — Excerpt : In this post i will tell you what happened to me when my content was hijacked and placed on digg for link baiting, I will also try to explain how you can deal with it without going trough extensive procedures and lawsuits.
- 136 diggs
- digg it
- pondlife, on 10/12/2007, -17/+2Digg Spam? Who would dream of doing something like that?? ;)
http://www.addanimage.com/ ;) - mathewbrowne, on 10/11/2007, -5/+976.2% of everything submitted to Digg is blog spam. Fact.
(Actually I made that up. But it seems plausible.)- sidabraj, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6check out my blog where I break down these statistics (link)
:) - kedohmen, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Fact: 73% of facts are made up on the spot
Fact: 85% of fact percentages are made up too.- mrweasel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+160% of all people know this.

- dcarrero, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2We have fight to spam with our content :) Sorry my english :)
- Thex1138, on 10/11/2007, -7/+3lol it took DIGG spamming to market a story about Digg spamming....what a coincidence! BURRIED!
- srameshdking, on 10/11/2007, -6/+0could u tell abt blog spamming. i dont know abt that.... how is it possible?
- IHaveIssues, on 10/11/2007, -19/+4***** off Mr. AjaxFlakes.
- Kenelm, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Why ? Did he stole your content ? :D
- NachoBusiness, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Will any of these things actually work? Various people on Flickr steal my images... I complained about the first few a year ago... Flickr has yet to do anything.
I'm just saying, most websites do not give a damn about copyright complaints unless you send something formal, like a takedown notice.- frazw, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I thought all content uploaded to Flickr was subject to Creative Commons licensing. Is that not part of the T&C? I don't know I don't use it personally but I have seen people making reference to Flickr as an excellent source of royalty free CC images.
- PaperMonkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You have a choice as to how your images are licensed and if they are even available to the public at all. It has been a while since I have uploaded anything but I think you can default what you want the license to be but it can be easily changed at any time and is quite clearly marked when viewing the images.
- frazw, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ok thanks :)
- dinostabOMG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I don't know too much about flickr personally but there are CC licenses that don't permit that kind of thing. Maybe flickr specifies which CC licenses are acceptable, though.

- 0crabby0, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Seven steps? I hang out at Digg, so I only have time for three steps...lol
- Nougat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1And I think you may have just wasted them by typing "l o l."
- Rowen7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2You are my personal hero right now.
- Hosalabad, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2Call the waahmbulance.
- Eivo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Buried for complete lack of punctuation. I can barely read that damn article.
- databoy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0Blogs are only rants by egotistic people.
There are too many naive or ignorant people on the net. If you want to publish something on the net, it will be plagiarised. That is a 100% guarantee. The only way to protect your work on the net is to watermark it.
You have two choices, if the work has commercial value don't publish it on a blog, get it published by a recognised publisher. If you want to blog, publish extracts of your work and sell electronic copies in a protected PDF format. - presidentjapan, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2A seriously well written article, practically covers everything you could effectively do.
- mlostracco, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Well-written if you don't factor in any proper use of grammar.
- presidentjapan, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Meh, I figure if I understand what they are saying it truly doesn't matter.
- mlostracco, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Well-written if you don't factor in any proper use of grammar.
- dinostabOMG, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Look, you had some good ideas and your process makes a lot of sense. Very useful information. But I find it hard to believe that someone stole your content; please work on your writing skills. Particularly, your punctuation is atrocious. I'll digg you up next time if you can polish things a bit more, language-wise. Deal?
- Kenelm, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2There's a long way to the day we'll finally got rid of spam, but you've definitely helped taking a step towards it. Thanks a lot.
- vtnerd, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3It's hard to take anyone seriously who spells "through" without the h consistently throughout an entire article. A "trough" is what pigs eat out of.....
- jeston13, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1digg removed this useful post from front page and offbeat new listing..within 33 minutes of going live to frontpage
why? they probably do not want to be depicted as being spammed so often.. maybe they think it will hamper new registrations..
my opinion: it is just egocentric censuring of valuable content.- greatkingrat85, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Your post isn't that useful and your content isn't that valuable, btw.
Sucks that they stole your content, but get over it. - dinostabOMG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Another good observation, dude, but again you're coming off as a noob at language. The comments here should indicate that people aren't taking you seriously. As a blogger who has ideas that are good enough to get a decent number of diggs, this should worry you. It would be so easily fixed - imagine how many diggs you'd have if people like me in the grammar gestapo weren't so turned off by your "style"?
- greatkingrat85, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Your post isn't that useful and your content isn't that valuable, btw.
- greatkingrat85, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1While I don't advocate stealing someone elses content. I think the IFX article is much more accessible and easier to read than the AJaxflakes article. So given the choice, I still choose to bookmark (and link to) the IFX one.
It's like choosing to view a 'print' version than the original article because it's easier to read. - blewsdawg, on 10/19/2007, -2/+1Buried for the irony of Digg Spamming a link to stop Digg Spam
- unitedstatians, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hello, jeston13, I understand your uproar, this is why I make it a habit to digg the originals, and favorite (my#1) the cream of the crop. I believe, the success of the duplicate, sincerely, was due to the time of submission, the well thought-out headline, which attracted so many eye-balls.
