Oh so selling them to the NEWSPAPER is not the wrong hands ?????????... nice.- mrASSMAN, on 04/20/2008, -9/+2He didn't sell it.. it just says that he gave it to them. But yeah, good point, he probably just wanted attention.
- jackalsclaw, on 04/20/2008, -0/+21if he gave them to the government they might not have fixed the problem that lead to them being thrown out in the first place. press attention will make them try to fix it.
- KlogereEndGrim, on 04/20/2008, -0/+7Maybe he thought this was his big break, being homeless and all, you dont have many chances of anything.
- Brad324, on 04/20/2008, -2/+2maybe he should try playing the spoons on his knee
- matschig, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3There's surprisingly little money to be made playing spoons on your knee actually. Quite a disappointment.
- raindogmx, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1Fortunately he'd never be allowed on a plane.
- Chirp08, on 04/20/2008, -5/+14Have they started on this thing yet?
- willynilly, on 04/20/2008, -2/+7Hopefully not. The plans for this belong in the trash. They should have rebuilt the WTC, exactly the same, but 30 percent higher. Instead, we have nothing, and nothing but plans to wallow in misery and render the scar permanent instead of restoring New York's skyline.
The WTC fiasco is an excellent testimonial to what is wrong with the U.S. Even the name "Freedom Tower" caps off this debacle with an insult and a lie, the lie perpetrated by the Bush administration that our enemies did this "because they hate our freedom."
You want to talk about anti-patriotic? That claim epitomizes "anti-patriotic": It insults every American, living and dead, by calling them stupid. Stupid enough to believe that anyone gives a ***** about our "freedom." THEY HATE OUR POLICIES IN THEIR PART OF THE WORLD, and everyone goddamn well knows it. And anyone who doesn't know it surely shouldn't have a say in our government or policies. - Zilk, on 04/20/2008, -0/+5Yeah. Watching FRIENDS skyline after 9/11 was never the same

- InorganicMatter, on 04/20/2008, -9/+95Anyone can go to the city hall and look up the building plans, as well as all permits and tax information, for free. What's the big deal here?
Must have been a slow news week.- rohanch, on 04/20/2008, -4/+23The article says that the document was marked "Secure Document - Confidential" so I doubt it was one that anyone could go and look up.
- heliox, on 04/20/2008, -3/+11Company's mark items "Secure and confidential" all the time for competitive and image reasons. The company I work for does to protect it's patents, trade secrets etc. I doubt bid-laden would use a medical device to blow up the world.
- wphj, on 04/20/2008, -1/+4They also said it was available to anyone bidding on the contract.
- stageidea, on 04/20/2008, -0/+4I used to work for a design company and we marked everything secure/confidential even though there was nothing special about. This story is worthless.
- djcreamy, on 04/20/2008, -1/+3(U) "Secure Document - Confidential" is worthless and it doesn't meet classification standards. "CLASSIFICATION: CONFIDENTIAL" would be legitimate, but even then "Confidential" is pretty low and irrelevant. Now if he found something that read "TOP SECRET" with plans for a giant death star embedded into the tower, then we would have something newsworthy.
- mojonandha, on 04/20/2008, -3/+1u dont know jack *****. Just STFU
- justjoehere, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3Not only that, anyone bidding on the project would have had access to the plans. Plus, classifications in the private sector aren't worth anything.

Remember the fire in December?
---------------------
Cheney was in the White House with President George Bush receiving their morning intelligence briefings when the blaze began and people were evacuated from the executive office building safely, White House officials said.
Smoke billowed from the second floor of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, a hulking granite structure that is part of the White House complex and faces the West Wing of the presidential mansion. Firefighters arrived and quickly brought the blaze under control.
"Everyone's been evacuated safely," White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said. "There were no injuries that we know of."
The fire appeared to have been contained to only a few offices. Smoke was wafting from one window of Cheney's office.

- ralphthemagi, on 04/20/2008, -2/+5Incompetence. Mystery solved.
- captric, on 04/20/2008, -4/+4Investigate our own governments ROLE in what? Do you really believe that you can conduct an evil massive undercover government sponsored attack against your own people and NO ONE would object or question the authority for such a suggestion that would involve hundreds of co-conspirators when you cant even get a BLOW JOB in the WHITE HOUSE without the whole world finding out about it????? PLEEEEEZE!!!!
- metapop, on 04/20/2008, -2/+1what makes you think that if there was a conspiracy that it had originated from the oval office? do you have full comprehensive knowledge of classified information that you can defend your viewpoint? if you truly take a second look at the events of 9/11, you are compelled to come to the conclusion that if the events weren't planned, they were at the very least enabled or had been allowed to happen. regarding the numerous levels of questions surrounding the events of 9/11, even the most skeptical individual cannot provide full answers for all of the mysterious activity on this day, and the bush administration's silence on so many questions only magnifies my suspicion, as should it yours.
- captric, on 04/21/2008, -1/+1Of course there was a conspiracy!!! It ORIGINATED with Al-Queda!!! They admitted and bragged about it!!!! For Christ sake what does it take for morons like you to recognize fact from fiction. Maybe you should get some professional help for that problem or more easily, get an EDUCATION so you can learn critical thinking skills.
- GhostyBoy, on 04/20/2008, -3/+3I'm going to ignore your god-awful use of caps-lock and attempt to respond to your "logic".
"massive undercover government sponsored attack" - According to the official story it only needed 19 hi-jacker with box-cutters to succeed. The official story is more ridiculous in that regard.
"NO ONE would object" - That's just based on the assumption that someone among the terrorists has any morals. We don't give Al-Queda that benefit of the doubt.
"BLOW JOB in the WHITE HOUSE" - Let's all stop pretending we're stupid for a second. How many politicians do you think get blowjobs that we never find out about? How many scandals actually go off without a hitch for every one that gets uncovered? If you answered none, then you might be naive.
You know all those "crazy fringe lunatics" running around talking about controlled demolition? Take a look at their science...it's pretty god damn sound.
I would have said that such an attack would be the dumbest idea in history, but seeing as how well it seems to be working I guess that whoever did this is pretty damn smart.- ssn697, on 04/20/2008, -3/+4"You know all those "crazy fringe lunatics" running around talking about controlled demolition? Take a look at their science...it's pretty god damn sound."
REally? We have been asking for said science for nearly 6 years. Can you produce this supposed science? - ssn697, on 04/20/2008, -3/+4Digg is driving me nuts today:
Is "19 hi-jackers with box cutters some sort of denier playbook required phrase? Is the rhetoric supposed to suggest there weren't hi-jackers, and the didn't fly planes into the WTC's?
As for science, here is a short list of science that has shown there was no controlled demolition:
The National Council of Structural Engineers Association.
The Council of American Structural Engineers
The Structural Engineering Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers
MIT
NIST
Michigan State University
Are all of them lying? Can you show me one Structural Engineering association, or one major University study saying it was a controlled demolition?
Dismissing the hi-jackers with some lame phrasing isn't science. The organizations listed above are. Are they all lying, in some gigantic coordinated effort? How is it there is not one single member of any of the organizations above listed in the 911patriotsfortruth stuff? Why would that be? Could it be because there really isn't any factual science, despite your claim? - captric, on 04/21/2008, -1/+1OK all you guys pointing out facts and logic to Ghost boy is like trying to convince a creationist of evolution. He IS CANADIAN after all and only a product of his environment including a hippie parents bridled with drug usage, homosexuality, and a poor education. On second thought, he has earned all of the criticism you can heap n his ignorant ass.
- captric, on 04/21/2008, -1/+1Ok all you guys criticizing Ghostboy, just realize that he is just a product of his environment (Victoria BC) which includes hippie parents, drug usage, homosexuality and a CANADIAN education system! Trying to convince him with facts is like trying to convince a creationist of evolution. On second though, go ahead, he deserves all the criticism you can heap on him! LOL

The guy's a plant. The U.S. media is complicit in keeping the population terrified of anything that moves. This story is one of thousands a day that are fake and designed to manage YOUR perceptions.
The U.S. is NOT under attack from anything other than it's own current administration. That administration has an agenda and that agenda is supported by keeping YOU, Mr. and Mrs. U.S.A. terrified all the time. That administration has a goal of keeping you fearful and believing that the U.S is under constant threat of attack so that when the next 'attack' happens, you'll be primed and ready to react
One word for you, people. IRAN. It's next on the agenda.

- justjoehere, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Yes they do.
- writerwriter, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Are you quite serious? Are you one of those who still believes a 757 can completely disintegrate but that the 'bodies' supposedly on board were identified by fingerprints?
Are you one of those who can see CUT steel girders at the BOTTOM of a state-of-the-art building and still say an airplane brought the building down? Are you one of those who still ignores the ME that attended the "crash" in Shanksville and left 20 minutes later because there were no bodies, blood, suitcases, seats or even evidence of an aircraft???
Whatever man. If you want to believe your government is totally all for you then go wild. Reality does not support that theory at all. and neither does the endless footage and interviews that are easily accessible everywhere in print and video and face to face.
Ask questions man. If you really think YOUR theory is air tight, then do some research and see if it holds. And by the way, when you dig up the easily-found articles on the "Whoops,we're sorry; our sub was not attacked in the Bay of Tonkin, in fact, it was never even there, but what the hell, we're already at war," or yeah, I know the Japs are going to bomb our boats but how else do we get the public to buy in to the German war?" let me know how you explain all that, OK?
Seriously. Go do some research. A closed mind is a dark place.

- captric, on 04/20/2008, -8/+6The only conspiracy here are losers like you and the people who make these fake "documentaries" that are trying to cash in on a tragedy that killed 3000 innocent people from every religion and country on the planet.
- writerwriter, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1There is no question 9/11 was a tragedy or that 3000 people were killed. However, I note even in your comment a lack of remembrance for the supposed victims at Shanksville and at the Pentagon.... Seems to me there's something missing.
What is tragic is that so many people have been coerced into believing something that is not true. Yes, the buildings were hit by airplanes.
No, they were not marked aircraft and that is obvious from the footage.
No, a 757 did not hit the pentagon.
No a fully loaded airplane did not crash in Shanksville. Othewise, the ME would have not left after 20 minutes for lack of bodies.
These people are ON RECORD stating there is no possible way things happened as you've been told.
Now, as you've used the word 'fake,' back up your comment.
What evidence do you have to contradict the veracity of the many docs out there?? If you have no alternative information, on what do you base your assertion that any of those docs is fake?
The incidents most definitely happend but HOW and WHY is what many people now dispute.
- writerwriter, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1There is no question 9/11 was a tragedy or that 3000 people were killed. However, I note even in your comment a lack of remembrance for the supposed victims at Shanksville and at the Pentagon.... Seems to me there's something missing.

- Armakillo, on 04/20/2008, -4/+3I can see why people hate the Iraq War, but since when is Islamic terrorism not a real threat? There are many Islamists who really do want to destroy Western culture, that's not even a question. London Tube, Madrid train, World Trade Center, etc. Imams in Europe openly proclaim that sharia law should be implemented in Europe. People are murdered for saying Islam is violent.
- FunnyBunnyBo, on 04/20/2008, -1/+1You are either an ignorant idiot or a shill. If you're not getting paid for your contribution, than you are probably too stupid to rationalize my point. "Funny" how the pentagon uses stupidity as its mascot.
- Armakillo, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3How can a conspiracy theorist who honestly believes George Bush pulled off the most elaborate hoax in history call someone else an ignorant idiot? Also, if you'd like to actually comment on my point about Islamic terrorism, feel free. It may be very difficult to stomach, but Islam is the most violent religion in the world, it does not mesh with a pluralistic or democratic society, it oppresses women, it stones gays in the street, it has its own political movement, it yearns for a worldwide caliphate, and it must be reformed.

Now, they're scared of building it above 50 stories lest it be a target. Nonsense.
Look at Dubai - look how tall their buildings are.
I'm disappointed when I walk by there. its shameful to see the junk thats coming up in a ridiculous spiral and not as tall.

- blacktriangle, on 04/20/2008, -1/+3In order for a building to be named Freedom Tower the exact opposite of freedom needs to exist so, they are waiting to completely abolish The Constitution and The Bill of Rights before they begin.

- jmo14, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1as someone who works in an engineering construction firm, the odds of these drawings being the least bit helpful to anyone is extremely slim. thousands of drawings go into building a structure of this magnitude and for them to be any sort of complete set that would allow any type of "planning" is highly unlikely. that said though, they still should be disposed of in a proper manner if truly confidential.
- AvangionQ, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Theoretically speaking, any building is vulnerable to demolitions, regardless of availability of blueprints, if sufficient explosive charges are used and physical access is available ... blueprints only help in minimizing the amount of explosive charges necessary to bring down a building and assisting in bringing down a building into its own footprint, to minimize damage to adjacent structures ...
