Mysterious happenings near a major military base??? You don't say. - Zaxcomp, on 03/30/2009, -0/+26They sound like a porn superhero duo.
- ncapone, on 03/30/2009, -0/+22Don't worry, you're not the only one.

- chinaman1212, on 03/30/2009, -2/+20It was the sound of our economy collapsing in on itself.
- tofur, on 03/30/2009, -3/+21It was an object seen from Maryland down to North Carolina. MSNBC is reporting that it is was a Russian rocket that possibly crashed in the Cape Hatteras area of North Carolina and Phil Plaitt(Bad Astronomer fame from Boulder, CO) said it was possibly a large meteor skipping off the atmosphere back into space. No hard evidence has come forward at this time. However these seem to be the most plausible explanations at this time.
- PaulClayberg, on 03/30/2009, -2/+19rwitoff used Texas in reference to most states in the southern United States, criticised regularly for their religiously influenced and backward seeming education systems. In saying "their education system would have known the answer right away," rwitoff was talking about their study of Creationism. Creationism, contrary to the theory of Evolution, is the Christian belief that God created the entire universe and everything in it. In pointing this out, rwitoff meant that because there was a big bang and a flash, most southern Americans would have been lead to believe that it was an act of God, or in some cases, a "miracle."
- UtahApocalyse, on 03/30/2009, -5/+22Someone hit 88.5 MPH

- Fishn2, on 03/30/2009, -0/+13I prefer your interpretation.
- tofur, on 03/30/2009, -0/+13Why is this getting buried? I just pointed out what has been posted from two sources. I just want to know what's up with the negativity.
- SeaMowse, on 03/30/2009, -4/+17I'm willing to bet it's from F-16's. Given the fact that it's in an area where the military is located and this sort of phenomena has occurred before and was found out to be F-16s.
- ultraJesus, on 03/30/2009, -1/+11Thank you, I thought he was referencing Faust.
- Gaalsien, on 03/30/2009, -3/+13All evidence points to MYSTERY!
- Nosferotu, on 03/30/2009, -0/+10Not only did I bury your comment, I clicked your link and buried that too.
Are you impressed? - letsgetsurgical, on 03/30/2009, -0/+10They've all been flashy-thinged.
-MIB - ryan83189, on 03/30/2009, -0/+9I don't know much, but I know i'll be damned if I am going to believe the official story. I have over 2 people who will vaguely cooberate a story about a UFO landing and plan to air them on the history channel and discovery channel in 7 years time.
- koldmilk, on 03/30/2009, -7/+16Sounds like a thunder storm.
- offrdbandit, on 03/30/2009, -2/+11That's what happens when you come out of hyperspace too close to the system...
- Jeffler, on 03/30/2009, -0/+9What does Pavel Bure have to do with this?
- Jough, on 03/30/2009, -1/+10Yeah, it is, but it is not usually coordinated with a flash of light.
- Balath, on 03/30/2009, -0/+8It's maddening how one little line like that can make me feel so nostalgic and impatient.
- gianthorse, on 03/30/2009, -0/+8Vignia
- tobsterius, on 03/30/2009, -9/+15it was probably the mythbusters.
- cycreaver, on 03/30/2009, -3/+9They're here.
- Crossmenjeff, on 03/30/2009, -3/+9why were they calling 911 for their doors and windows rattling?
- tofur, on 03/30/2009, -1/+7Not new. Just posting what was read and the bury brigade comes a calling. I just wanted an answer. I can accept buries but I just like an answer to why sometimes.
- WriterSD, on 03/30/2009, -0/+6Too bad. I was hoping it was a top secret test of a warp drive prototype. :( One can only dream...
- varun1s, on 03/31/2009, -0/+6Could be other classified military experiments, maybe even weather related.
- haveaniceday91, on 03/30/2009, -0/+6I can honestly admit I thought it said the exact same thing.
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -1/+7Agreed. Sonic booms are incredibly loud and startling. Made the whole apartment shake. As for the flash of light??? Probably Flash Gordon.
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -1/+7from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
- LonelyTylenoL, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5Are you trying to tell us that this big boom was caused by some guy trying to impress a girl...?
- JesusHimself, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5yo
- DDRSkata, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5Yeah. That was the joke. Good job.
- mathsciteach, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5I thought it was Mystery Flash and Big Boob Rattle Vagina. I was picturing a baby rattle shaped like a big boob... don't ask about the flash and vagina connection...
- vbullinger, on 03/31/2009, -0/+5I vote for this.
The first test flights of stealth bombers were in 1973. 1973... think about that.
What kind of stuff do you think the government has been building these past 36 years? We have much more advanced things than stealth bombers.
One big limitation is the fact that a human can only take so many G-forces. At a certain amount, a human will get knocked unconscious or break their neck, etc. But what happens if you take the person out? You get a much more agile, faster, sick aircraft. We have tons of unmanned aircraft.
These were probably the result of some military experiment of some ridiculously advanced technology that I hope we never use. Unless it's just some slick, new plane. - ceredron, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4if only it was that brief and painless...
- BowZzer, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4swamp gas
- DeadPlasmaCell, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4I shall do the same.
