- relaxeder, on 05/13/2009, -4/+164In his defense, Hitler was kind of a dick.
- epyon8282, on 05/13/2009, -3/+90A little extreme to rip the head off? Maybe.... Totally awesome? Hell yeah it was....
- JellyFish62, on 05/13/2009, -1/+61Yeah, because attacking a wax statue is a great way to stand against fascism.
- inactive, on 05/13/2009, -13/+72he's a tool.. from an historic, artistic, factual, shocking, emotive, almost ANY standpoint, the statue deserves to be there. i'm sure some people have found offense, but instead of turning the thought or feeling into ANYthing productive (a picture, a painting, song, essay, blog, tweet, *****) dude decides to get a little publicity as a faux hero. i woulda fined him more, but, then again, i like to sculpt..
- JohnnyMarr, on 05/13/2009, -1/+60FTA: "As for the Hitler statue, it is back at Madame Tussauds, in a more secure location."
Madame Tussauds' secret bunker? - DrVic, on 05/13/2009, -1/+44just a little bit.
- SpectralSounds, on 05/13/2009, -1/+43Anne Franks wax attic.
- inactive, on 05/13/2009, -2/+33Never again! It'll happen again if dumbasses keep destroying history.
- HopeForTomorrow, on 05/13/2009, -3/+30It's important to remember our history, through whatever means we have. I feel that attacking a Hitler statue will not have any benefit, to anyone.
Hitler is dead. - unclejimbo88, on 05/13/2009, -0/+25Most evil leader of the 20th century? Pretty sure that title belongs to Stalin. But at least he wasn't our ally! Oh wait....
- directedition, on 05/13/2009, -2/+25Yes, let us flush from our memories the most heinous criminals of our history. How is history going to repeat itself if we keep trying to remember stuff?
- ironhide, on 05/13/2009, -0/+22So conservatives love Hitler? Is that what you're saying?
- BlackX4Life, on 05/13/2009, -3/+24not really considering how hard someone worked to make it just so it would get its head ripped off.
- spamspam, on 05/13/2009, -2/+23Plus, think about all of the wax Jews this man saved!
- PointGiven, on 05/13/2009, -0/+17"Liberals think it's ok to harass people or destroy property just because they feel their position is inherently right."
Sounds like the Bush Doctrine to me! - CoD4, on 05/13/2009, -1/+18He should've blitzkrieged the ***** outta there!
- inactive, on 05/13/2009, -0/+16Godwin's Law must have been a real pain in the ass during WWII
- ironhide, on 05/13/2009, -0/+14"it's ok to harass people or destroy property just because they feel their position is inherently right when it's really just that they're emotional weaklings who think the world should cater to them."

Indeed. - dalittle, on 05/13/2009, -0/+14Stalin killed 50 million of his own people. He was a very very evil man.
- Avaseal, on 05/13/2009, -1/+15That'll show that inanimate wax object what's up.
- FeloniusMonkey, on 05/13/2009, -2/+16Tasteless, but funny.
- joot2112, on 05/13/2009, -0/+14I'm not sure what they mean by "never again", but if they mean genocide, there have been several since WWII. Cambodia, Rwanda, Darfur, etc. What do they mean "never again"? It's happening as we speak.
- FishThePirate, on 05/13/2009, -1/+14And now they don't have a Hitler wax statue to point to and say "Remember guys like this. He was an evil bastard."
I don't think the guy reall thought his plan all the way through. People don't make this stuff to honour Hitler or something. It's akin to burning down the holocaust museum and shouting "NEVAR FORGET!!!1". - merreborn, on 05/13/2009, -0/+13@rhoonah: welcome to digg.
- sorepheet, on 05/13/2009, -4/+17Godwin's Law in 5...4...3...2...1
- Radan, on 05/13/2009, -1/+13Everyone together now! Ready? Aright, one, two, three; "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it."
- kingnothing1, on 05/13/2009, -0/+12Totally agree there. Stalin was much more evil than Hitler was, and the atrocities that he committed are often overlooked in our educational system today. I didn't learn about it until I got to college, but I learned about the Holocaust in the 3rd grade.
- inigomntoya, on 05/13/2009, -1/+13I heard he decreased the unemployment rate, encouraged women to stay at home to raise their children, increased the birth rate in households, eliminated classes from Germany, built a magnificent infrastructure that is still in use today, started a car company that built cars that everyone could afford, and a few other things.
Oh yeah, he also killed LOTS of Jews. So, uhm. Yeah... But he had those other things going for him, right? - captspaulding, on 05/13/2009, -4/+16I support anyone that takes down one of those creepy wax figures.
- catalysis, on 05/13/2009, -2/+13Think of it as interactive art. Tearing off the head completes the work.
- ryan631, on 05/13/2009, -0/+11Keep tearing statues down statues you internet tuff guy.
- directedition, on 05/13/2009, -0/+11Hey, if he didn't stand up for himself, that wax statue would have walked ALL over him.
- PointGiven, on 05/13/2009, -0/+9what
- jaikob, on 05/13/2009, -0/+10Maybe he was staring?
- iDanSimpson, on 05/13/2009, -0/+10Does't seem so much of a fine as much as a fee. I think the headline should read:
It only costs $1,200 to rip off head of Hitler, says museum - CrackyJSquirrel, on 05/13/2009, -0/+9Or maybe the money he/she was contracted to do it for...
- doctechnical, on 05/13/2009, -1/+10But only one ball.
- inactive, on 05/13/2009, -2/+11Finally, someone managed to assassinate Hitler.
Eat your heart out, Tom Cruise. - doctechnical, on 05/13/2009, -4/+13Did he skull-***** it? Because if he did, that was TOTALLY worth it.
- Nekateman, on 05/13/2009, -10/+19why? I read he built camps...
- harajukukei, on 05/13/2009, -0/+9it isn't happening to the white people?
- venom8599, on 05/13/2009, -0/+9Yeah, with Adolf not around, the Russians would've built giant Tesla coils and Mammoth Tanks and invaded Western Europe.
- magic6435, on 05/13/2009, -4/+13Dude someone spent alot of time and effort to make that figure...
- LugaZap, on 05/13/2009, -2/+10"Never Again", Im so tired of hearing that *****. Take some of that money you all seem to hord away in banks and spend a few bucks stopping the genocides in places like Darfur, Rwanda, etc... Oh whats wrong, they arent your equals so its ok to turn a blind eye? Ya ya ya keep bitching about ***** from the 40's and completely ignoring the tragedies of today.
- inigomntoya, on 05/13/2009, -1/+9Wow, another tasteless (yet extremely funny) joke on Digg. 5 Internets for you, sir.
- thenorwegian, on 05/13/2009, -2/+10No reason to rip his head off, he's a historical figure- regardless of his evil deeds. Man should certainly be fined this amount or more, considering how much work goes into these figures.
- cigawoot, on 05/13/2009, -2/+10Whether you like it or not, Adolf Hitler was a major player in 20th century history and his actions still affect us today, whether it be for the better or worse. Think of what would happen today if Adolf Hitler didn't exist to form history, we might be worse off then we actually are now. Note this comment does not condone the actions of Adolf Hilter, but he is key to 20th century history.
- marcduke, on 05/13/2009, -0/+8Dude, it's not really him - ease up on the caffeine there, Turbo.
- MaxPowers, on 05/13/2009, -3/+10He should have went to jail.
- Bloodboiler, on 05/13/2009, -0/+720th Century's most evil leader?
The only things that set Hitler apart from others is that his regime lost and it all happened in the so called west. For instance Stalin's death toll was about 5 times larger, but he was on the winning side of WW2 and killed mainly Russians so I guess they don't count. -
