Man Arrested in Venice for Photographing 3000 Women's Asses!

news.bbc.co.uk — A man who allegedly photographed more than 3,000 women's bottoms as they toured Venice has been arrested. The man was stopped after police became suspicious of a large bag he was carrying as he followed women through St Mark's Square.

I think since he tried to film up girls skirts, it's considered an area that someone would normally not see in public. This is b.s, of course, because girls in short skirts show their asses all the time. But they'll probably go after him aggressively because of the upskirt stuff.

        because he was going upskirt, that's a big no no.

        even though, yes, most girls in short skirts manage to flash a little ass all the time, or in some starlet's cases while getting in and out of cars, show everything.
        (in other words, the paparatzi that get the flash while in or out of car shots *could* get sued for invasion of privacy just like this guy)

The women deliberately chose to wear mini skirts in public, so I dont see how it can be viewed as infringing their privacy, when they made it not so private.

It isn't right to look through your co-workers journal when you are at his house. It isn't right to peep through a window to see your neighbor naked. The question is whether these actions are illegal in a civil sense (I'm going to sue you for invading my privacy) or in a criminal sense (the government thinks your behavior threatens society, and we are going to punish you communally). I think reasonable minds can disagree as to whether invasion of privacy is criminal...I only think extreme cases are...but I think European law criminalizes these types of upskirt photos...so this guy is screwed.

      i read this book when i was younger, and realized how true it was getting. I can barely *look* a the "company ink" let alone dip my pen in it.
      all it takes now a days is a look. some how, glancing at "betty's" too tight sweater/pants, or office inappropriate plunging neck line is me 'harassing' her.

      At the risk of sounding misogynistic (and i'm not, I love women) we need to return to the time when sexual harassment was "sleep with me or you get fired/never promoted". if "betty" wears an outfit more suited for a club than office, she should be told to go change, and/or deal with the stares she obviously wanted.
