I swear, every time the government wants to do something bogus, they bring the kids into the picture. - jollyholly, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14118 U.S.C. section 2257 and 28 C.F.R. 75 already require adult film producers to verify all models, actors, actresses and other persons that appear in any visual depiction of actual sexually explicit conduct were over the age of eighteen years at the time of the creation of such depictions.
Nothing else is necessary.. - chicoer2001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+102More waste of government resources
- The_Wallbanger, on 10/10/2007, -2/+74More ridiculousness from the neo-con "prove-to-us-you're-not-guilty" Justice Department.
- str3ama, on 10/10/2007, -1/+66Fine that's acceptable, so long as every Priest, Rabbi, Cleric, Clergymen is kept in a database - so as to ensure that they don't have any pedophilliac backgrounds.
- Tyrsson, on 10/10/2007, -5/+66"For the good of the children" is the clarion call for nascent tyranny.
First step, registration. Second step, confiscation? - supermanred, on 10/10/2007, -0/+57This comes after complaints from Justice Department officials who referred to Justice Department parties as "all balls" and "sausagefest". Now, they will have a list of potential "entertainers" to improve the situation.
- shifty2, on 10/10/2007, -2/+42"and slap stiff penalties on producers who don't cooperate."
ball gag, whips and bondage suits included? - timusca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+35"Justice Department Wants to Register Every Porn Star"
"and slap stiff penalties"
Golden. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+33It's all about government power and getting more tax money from this industry
- StatiK69, on 10/10/2007, -1/+33I want to register every porn star too... Please remember to fully fill out the registration including age, telephone number and bust size please! The secondary part of the registration will be in the form of an "oral interview".
- dragonfly183, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30OMG, does this include all of the self made online porn stars that are out there too? shesh. They are sooooo dreaming if they think this is going to work.
- 0zzy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+31And it works. ***** parent unions.
- UtahApocalyse, on 10/10/2007, -1/+30The "Black List" starts off with Porn Stars this time?
What about that porn me and my girlfriend made, do we need to register? - rhabd0mancer, on 10/10/2007, -3/+31Did homosexual prostitute Jeff Gannon have to register before visiting Bush in the White House?
- RedStateRetard, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27I'd hate to be that govt. pencil pusher who has to do that paperwork.
"Please list any aliases you have used"
Fluffy Cumsalot, Bill Hardman, Sailor Joe, Merritt Smurf, Michael Goldstream, Tommy Tough Nuts.... - Error601, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24Don't they already have to do that and report it to the IRS?
- 0rion16, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21Jenna Jameson looks like an old leather coat, I'm sad.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21man i would love to give this comment a 100 diggs. kids are far more at risk from those deviants.
- DivineLackey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21House Resolution 4472 [ http://www.hr4472.com/ ] also requires any company which scans an image of an adult movie or sells it online to be considered a "secondary producer" and also keep the personal records of the individuals in the videos. Disgusting.
- DivineLackey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21Taking away the privacy of people is neither amusing NOR funny. You didn't even get a mirthless laugh with that one.
- Sornos, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21We want to remove all human rights. So that the children can be safe from potentially dangerous adults.
- hambend, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18First they came for the porn stars, and I said nothing...
- ChronicColonic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19LOL at the caption under Jenna Jameson... "JENNA JAMESON - She'd be in head count." Tell me an editor didn't just let that one slip by.
- jimmiss, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18Or a Department of Anti-Redundancy Department
- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18It's so ***** annoying. They act like 17 year olds consensually doing porn is worse than adults' privacy being invaded.
- ATHEISTinHELL, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16I guess are federal government needs an anti-redundancy law.
- Masefield, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16What's next? A five-day waiting period before renting porn? (At least until the instant check system is running.)
- rabidjester, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16Hmmm a fine question. Post a link and we'll get back to you.
- SaladCactusKing, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16I'm with Captain America.
- gfreeman223, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16What a monumental waste of resources... this is what happens when you vote "family values" republicans into office.
They should probably look into the page-*****, diaper wearing, money laundering, male prostitute hiring mirror!!! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Yay, more of our resources wasted on fulfilling the religious right's anti American agenda.
- webovative, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14So a pedophile can maintain a blog of tips for other pedophiles legally in the US but if I post a pair of ***** on a website and I dont have 8 pages of documentation and her personal information available to the public I can go to jail for 10 years? hmmmm, whats wrong with this picture?
- DangerCollie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Exactly. This must mean we have that terrorism thing all handled, right? That they have time to waste agency resources on something like this must mean we have no other more pressing priorities.
- kenvsryu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14I'll need a copy please.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14The first and biggest mistake of any government is when it abandons the notion that all people are innocent and begins to assume that all people are criminals, and if they aren't, they shouldn't have any problem with telling the government every last shred of information about their personal lives that they know.
- robman30, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15next they will want to start registering Jews, gays, homeless and patriots. What do you expect from a fascist state.
- SaladCactusKing, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Iron Man: Register, It's The Law!
- KidVicious, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15It always confused me how prostitution is illegal, but if you're getting paid for sex and it's videotaped, it's called porn and it's completely legal.
Prostitution is sex for money.
Porn is sex for money on video. - Bunmei, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Amen
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11The topic is misleading, it's not just pornstars, it's anyone who appears in "sexually explicit" conduct as defined... yadda yadda.. Currently this doesn't cover breasts, but does cover the pubic area and any sexual situations.
If you post pictures of you and your girlfriend, according to the new guidelines, you would have to post your name and address on every page where the pictures/videos appear, telling the FBI where they can go to ensure your records are in order. You will need to be available at that address 20 hours a week during normal business hours in the event the FBI decides to stop by. Furthermore, if you have "affiliates" who advertise your websites, you would need to SEND THEM a copy of you and your girlfriends drivers license or other ID's, so that they can comply with the FBI as well. - kingkilr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Idiot.
- shinelikeitdoes, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11for penis terrorism most likely
- Keach, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11***** that.
/No pun intended - RedStateRetard, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11the dyslexic in me read "nascent tranny"
- Somnabot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Couldn't have said it any better myself.
- wiremonkeymommy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9You're missing the point by a wide margin, if this act becomes law, even the "classy and upstanding" producers of porn will be fooled by fake ID's. This is just another method by which your freedoms are reduced and tax dollars are wasted so politicians can say, "Hey, look what I support, I care about kids, I ordered 5 raids right before my re-election race, vote for me!!".
Also, using the spell checker is greatly appreciated. - psyops2000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Well gee, I didn't realize that every murderer, drug dealer, rapist, gang member, and terrorist have been locked up! I guess the "Justice" Dept. has nothing else better to do.
- rodii, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I'm sure Peter North will be pleased to make your acquaintance. Enjoy your oral interview.
- BigRed7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Legislation is already in place to "watch" over the adult industry. This is a blatant attempt to try and bring adult industry down. Enforce the laws already on the books and everything will be fine.
