Just like you did in the New Testament with that cross thing you love so much. - Berkana, on 10/14/2008, -11/+288The popular misconception that Jesus' "middle initial" is H comes from the abbreviation of "Iesus Hominim Salvator" (Jesus Mankind's Savior), or IHS, commonly used as a glyph or abbreviated symbol in Catholicism to represent Jesus. There is no Biblical evidence that Jesus had a middle name.
- Adwt0125, on 10/14/2008, -22/+218I don't like him because I heard he was an Arab.
- uriman, on 10/13/2008, -33/+217Hellraiser
- ErickStevenson, on 10/14/2008, -17/+200He wasn't born in the US was he? Wasn't he born in the middle east? So doesn't that make him an Arab? And isn't Jesus a common spanish name? That makes him an Arab/Spanish Immigrant! THAT ONE does not belong here in the USA!
- d2002, on 10/13/2008, -47/+213I don't think illegitimate children get birth certificates back then.
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -13/+149Jesus died for our sins, if we dont sin does it mean that he died for nothing?
- ErickStevenson, on 10/14/2008, -2/+128Don't forget the Universal Health Care he provided! I can't believe he gave out free healings! The nerve of this guy!
- TheVirus, on 10/14/2008, -26/+116The H was added to make saying 'Jesus Christ' more profane-like. It has no symbolic meaning in the history of Christ, though some people think it means 'Holy' or 'Harold' (Our Father, who art in Heaven, Harold be thy name).
That, or he's a.. a... an arab. - kaiyraa, on 10/14/2008, -32/+105Terrorist.
- rexykik, on 10/14/2008, -5/+76Christ is a title, not a last name.
- Aurabolt, on 10/14/2008, -1/+69There needs to be more comments like this. Bravo, and thanks.
- Duffalpha, on 10/14/2008, -10/+73Did anyone else notice that Jesus has dreamy green eyes you could get lost in for hours?
- zephc, on 10/14/2008, -1/+64from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_H._Christ
The More You Know ★==== - Aurabolt, on 10/14/2008, -4/+60That is correct.
Now find me someone who has not sinned. - inactive, on 10/14/2008, -2/+52I heard he was an awesome carpenter.
- ErickStevenson, on 10/14/2008, -3/+51He is an ARAB! He was born in the Middle East!
- LibrarianEtarip, on 10/14/2008, -1/+42Logical, informative, and interesting comments do not belong in this thread. Begone with thee!
- Ravenlark, on 10/14/2008, -1/+41....
Oh, sorry, what were you saying? - BossKey, on 10/14/2008, -3/+38By the way I want to make it clear that I have absolutely no problem with religious moderates. It's just the extremists...Muslim and Christian...that give us such problems.
- rdldr1, on 10/14/2008, -0/+34And Jewish too.
- jlimon, on 10/14/2008, -0/+34Middle name? Hah, he didn't even have a LAST name. It's not as if his adopted parents were Mary and Joseph Christ.
- ErickStevenson, on 10/14/2008, -5/+37OMG IT MAKES SENSE!
His an Arab(born in the middle east)might be Spanish too!(JESUS? WTF!? Why not John or Joe?), He gave his followers free health care(he didn't charge for his healing powers!), he was a community organizer, he forgave prostitutes and outcasts!.... That does it! We have to hang this guy! ***** Arab Terrorist Socialist!... Let's run him out of our great country THE U.S. of A!!!!! A for Ass-kicking! - warsongs7, on 10/14/2008, -3/+34For ****'s sake. He was an arab. And he more than likely did not have white skin, lipstick and green eyes.
- pintomp3, on 10/14/2008, -0/+31and a socialist!
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -0/+31Quiet you, with your fancy facts and logic
- Clbck, on 10/14/2008, -3/+32Does that make him a *****?
- dvsbastard, on 10/14/2008, -7/+35A religious submission that is inflammatory just for the sake of being inflammatory on Digg?!
Inconceivable! - DevilInPgh, on 10/14/2008, -0/+28John = Yochanan, Paul was originally Saul=Sha'ul, Peter was originally Simon=Shim'on (Peter/Petras is a renaming), Matthew=Matityahu (yes, Matisyahu is the same), Mary Magdalene=Miriam Magdala (Hebrew+Aramaic), and so on.
- rdldr1, on 10/14/2008, -0/+27No ma'am, n... no ma'am.
- ZombieSociety, on 10/14/2008, -1/+28His last name is Hong. Jesus Hong.
Says he has no idea where people are getting "Christ." - jsaya, on 10/14/2008, -0/+27Not a mistranslation - the name Jesus (Gr., I·e·sous′) corresponds to the Hebrew name Jeshua (or, in fuller form, Jehoshua), meaning “Jehovah Is Salvation.” The name itself was not unusual, many men being so named in that period. For this reason persons often added further identification, saying, “Jesus the Nazarene.” (Mr 10:47; Ac 2:22) Christ is from the Greek Khri·stos′, the equivalent of the Hebrew Ma·shi′ach (Messiah), and means “Anointed One.” Whereas the expression “anointed one” was properly applied to others before Jesus, such as Moses, Aaron, and David (Heb 11:24-26; Le 4:3; 8:12; 2Sa 22:51), the position, office, or service to which these were anointed only prefigured the superior position, office, and service of Jesus Christ. Jesus is therefore preeminently and uniquely “the Christ, the Son of the living God.”—Mt 16:16
- Doctype, on 10/14/2008, -2/+27I thought God was his father...
- DrLeePhD, on 10/14/2008, -9/+34Dugg, no matter how many people bury it.
- BTConan, on 10/14/2008, -0/+24No, he IS God, so he's his own father.
- Duffalpha, on 10/14/2008, -1/+25AND he's wearing a shirt with a cross on it. /Irony....
- RobotBuddha, on 10/14/2008, -4/+28Your story is unrealistic. It's more probable that an immaterial spirit bird raped her using ghost sperm in order to become his own son.
- topgigmedia, on 10/14/2008, -1/+24He was a Jew. But he was also considered a liberal of his time.
- Infidelephant, on 10/14/2008, -2/+25"Our Father, who art in Heaven, HOWARD be thy name..."
- diggitydad, on 10/14/2008, -1/+24I'm impressed someone around here knew that.
- Alphabet, on 10/14/2008, -2/+24Jesus wasn't white and didn't have brown/blond hair either since he was born in the middle east. I have no idea how present-day Jesus looks the way he does.
