- Huxl3y, on 01/25/2008, -2/+434Q. How many Scientologists does it take to change a light bulb?
A. None: the lightbulb must find $80,000 dollars to become clear, then it will have the selfdeterminism to change itself - orangefly, on 01/25/2008, -1/+108but if i'm driving by a burned out light bulb, i would know that i was the only one that could change it....
- Virak, on 01/25/2008, -1/+103Best part:
"A spokesman for the Church of Scientology told NEWS.com.au that the church was not the "right target" for these kinds of attacks.
"These types of people have got some wrong information about us," the spokesman said." - techobo, on 01/25/2008, -3/+58Laugh out loud out loud out loud out loud out loud?
- paiNn3ck, on 01/25/2008, -0/+51I like this line:
“Anonymous has therefore decided your organisation should be destroyed, for the good of your followers, for the good of mankind and for our own enjoyment,”
rofl! - Anon983214, on 01/25/2008, -8/+52DIG IT THE ***** UP WOOOOOOO
- smacksaw, on 01/25/2008, -1/+37Question: DOES Co$ own any vans?
- KentAllard, on 01/25/2008, -5/+34I wish it was still banned in Victoria :(
- adamrgolf, on 01/25/2008, -1/+28More propaganda: Scientology is selling its e-meters on ebay: http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Scientology_E_Meter_for_ ...
- mcgarry83, on 01/25/2008, -0/+23sounds like they are getting scared....attack while they are weak...kick them while they are down...destroy them.
- tman84, on 01/25/2008, -1/+22The Boston Tea Party was considered terrorism to the British. It all depends what side of the fence you are sitting on to decide whats Revolutionary and whats Terrorism. Viva la Resistance!
- smacksaw, on 01/25/2008, -0/+20What, you think Anon hasn't already figured that out with ***** like CP and furfags? Everyone knows they aren't going to go away, but if they're going to stay they aren't going to run roughshod over everyone like Co$ does with it's threats and lawsuits. If that galvanises them, so be it. But they WANT to survive and the only thing that is assured in a war of attrition with someone who doesn't care if they lose is destruction. You can't beat Anon because Anon isn't in it to win or lose and Anon has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
It's the nature of the beast.
In closing, I say "so what?" - inactive, on 01/25/2008, -0/+20The Westboro Baptist church is so far out there that they don't really pose a threat to indoctrinating other people, and already have other groups working against them. Scientology, however, is much more successful, claiming many celebrities among it's ranks and sometimes killing it's members, or preventing them from receiving proper medical treatment. They also impede free speech and the flow of information, and force people to pay large sums of money to join the church. Basically, it's just one giant scam, and Anon cannot allow people to be harmed in this way.
- chaosium, on 01/25/2008, -0/+19"Other religions don't ask for insane amounts of money for their knowledge. "
Other religions don't copyright their sacred documents. - phantom_mullet, on 01/25/2008, -2/+22I love it how the news says that "a group of computer hackers" is trying to take down Scientology.
- borez, on 01/25/2008, -1/+17"A spokesman for the Church of Scientology told NEWS.com.au that the church was not the "right target" for these kinds of attacks.
"These types of people have got some wrong information about us," the spokesman said. "
Translates to: Help I'm ***** bricks! - MarkOfTheDead, on 01/25/2008, -0/+16The people in topeka aren't responsible for the death of emotionally frail people who run out of money trying to buy "happiness" from this "church" that no longer finds them useful.
http://whyaretheydead.net/ - Vowieotw, on 01/25/2008, -3/+19Normally I would agree with you but Scientology is suppressing the freedoms and knowledge of its members. Anon is doing the opposite, getting information to the public and showing them what Scientology is really about. Is there any reason for their organization to continue its existence?
- Semprini, on 01/25/2008, -0/+15$cientology deserves this, they started this. The doctrine of "fair gaming" as put out by LRH allows for the cult members to act in pure thuggish ways. Google Paulette Cooper or Mark Bunker, they were critics, so the cult went out to destroy them, accusing them of child molestation and the like, going to neighbor's houses to spread the lies, handing out leaflets in the neighborhood, etc.
Its a cult, the folks running it are goons and thugs. It is a gigantic mind control scam that messes people up, locks people up at Gold, ruins families and steals money from their members.
All because a failed writer decided it would be neat and profitable to form a religion and soak people.
RESIST THE CULT
Information is what will kill this cult.
Find out the front companies of the cult (Earthlink, Narcanon, etc), don't give them business. Spread the word about the damage this cult does to people (Lisa McPherson), think about the premise of the cult, they will make you mental supermen, their tech is so important, it will save the earth, however, its copywrited and will cost you about a half a million dollars and years of your life as a robot to earn it!
And, for all these superpowers, when have they been demonstrated in a lab?
Never
Its a cult, its a scam, its a trap, and it needs to be eliminated. - WWWoody, on 01/25/2008, -2/+17Not a terribly well written article, but it's getting the word out.
I've sent information to all of my local news stations. Hopefully they pick up on it. - WildTurkey00, on 01/25/2008, -0/+14I can't control myself. I'm completely addicted to Scientolgy bashing. Thank you Digg.com.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -0/+13Oh we're not targeting the right people are we? I've looked this over quite thoroughly, and I can definitely conclude that we're after the people we said we're after.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -2/+15The Church has killed people and when anyone speaks up about it, they're sued into oblivion. You think that's okay and we should sit back and let it happen? Really?
- bbtweb, on 01/25/2008, -1/+14nope mr. spokesman. Their info was correct.
- Jenadae, on 01/25/2008, -4/+16Wow this is horribly written
- bbtweb, on 01/25/2008, -1/+12ummm NO, not even remotely close.... at all.....
- dondara, on 01/25/2008, -1/+11Ok, I'll bite. Co$ is NOT a hurricane. It is a criminal conspiracy to defraud individuals of their money. They use intimidation, lawsuits and slander to silence critics. It can be stopped and it will be when every person knows the truth behind their lies. Thats what Anon will do. There are no lulz this time just justice.
- WildTurkey00, on 01/25/2008, -0/+10The Enemy Deserves No Mercy . . . . . Cobra Kai
- pigg123, on 01/25/2008, -1/+11this is feel good news right?
- troy1of2, on 01/25/2008, -0/+10Man! There's a lot of reverb in this place!
- iceeblue, on 01/25/2008, -0/+10Scientology is not harmless. I respect anyone right to believe the moon is made of cheese however when you intimidate bully and take money from frightened lonely and confused people you lose my sympathy.
As for persecution Scientology is not a religion it is a business that profits from insecurity and loneliness. Anything that spreads the word and makes it harder for this insidious organization to function gets a digg from me. - truspect0r, on 01/25/2008, -0/+10Here's a quote from an ex-scientologist
"4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
When in the cadet org I walked in on my cousin accepting small handfuls of sugary cereal to allow young boys to put there penis against or in her vagina. I yelled at them to stop but everyone in the room seemed to be in agreement with what was going on, so I walked out. "
http://www.forum.exscn.net/showthread.php?t=2239 - getrealnow, on 01/25/2008, -2/+12TRAITOR!
- Schpariel, on 01/25/2008, -1/+10SHUT UP and INFORM YOURSELF. These guys harrass people, bribe judges and extort their own members only to fill their dirty pockets with $$$, L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of the CoS, is a SCI-FI writer and a crook. You must be insane to believe that these monsters bring happiness to anyone's life, they should be eliminated ASAP with any means possible.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -2/+11Yet you've posted about it in three different stories in the last few minutes. Sounds like you may have some interests to defend?
The tactic of Digg Scientologists is to proclaim how boring and trivial every story related to Scientology is. Pick a new one, you're all too obvious. - lazerus9, on 01/25/2008, -0/+9Scientology is for short people with elevator shoes.
- PleaseJustDie, on 01/25/2008, -0/+9You actually think the DDoS is their primary plan to take them down? Even a script kiddie can see DDoS a server won't take the organization down. I personally think its entertaining and I realize this can only be phase 1.
Not to mention that this gets Anonymous lots of publicity and could bring publicity to the cause behind WHY Anon is doing this. That kind of publicity might however have a damaging effect to the CoS. - rougepanther, on 01/25/2008, -0/+9Tom Cruise, it's time to come out of the closet....
http://www.scientomogy.com/southpark_scientology.p ... - vibrokatana, on 01/25/2008, -0/+9Next thing you know they will develop a toilet for ***** bricks and charge 80,000 dollars so their members can ***** in peace.
- MacEnvy, on 01/25/2008, -0/+8It's just a galvanic response sensor. Here, build your own:
http://www.extremenxt.com/gsr.htm - lcarsdeveloper, on 01/25/2008, -5/+13Funnily enough, as much as I hate Scientology and despise everything about it...I want one.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -2/+10Cry more.
- psyjoniz, on 01/25/2008, -1/+9that was so good i had to log in, digg it and friend you.
- Pix869, on 01/25/2008, -0/+8"to attack a group undoubtedly weird, but harmless,"
I can see through your pseudo-intellectual ***** and I have realized the fact you know nothing of Scientology. - inactive, on 01/25/2008, -0/+8We don't care what they actually believe. They can believe in thetans and intergalactic warlords all they want. It's their actions that don't sit well with us. Learn the difference.
- getrealnow, on 01/25/2008, -1/+9Ebaums and their tricks again, tsk tsk....
- Vlatro, on 01/25/2008, -2/+10"These types of people have got some wrong information about us," the spokesman said"
Perhaps. But only because we didn't pay for the correct information. Although, I have seen the torrents, and it's a good laugh. I sometimes wonder if their members really do take it seriously and it's not just some sci-fi club for wealthy dorks. There are after all people who payed to learn Klingon. They're flaky nut jobs sure, but they're entitled to be so, and the absence of Scientology won't exactly make them any more sensible. - BoneheadFarker, on 01/25/2008, -1/+8We can't stop a hurricane by yelling at it, but we can seed the clouds with silver iodine in an attempt to prevent a hurricane from ever forming...
