- bargainmusic, on 10/11/2007, -11/+270At least he died doing something he loved...falling off cliffs.
- polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -8/+111No pics?
Edit: ok that sounded weird. I meant of the cliff, not necessarily the dude at the bottom. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+86Was this guy asleep at the wheel? Why didn't have have the presence of mind to jump out of the cart? Police said no alcohol or drugs were involved so what is the excuse? It's not like the things have seat belts..or doors for that matter. I've personally bailed out of several out-of-control golf carts (don't ask) in my lifetime. It really isn't that hard.
- Coinspinner, on 10/11/2007, -16/+83The last thing to go thru his mind?
His ass. - airquotes, on 10/11/2007, -7/+72"At least he died doing something he loved...falling off cliffs. "
If that was your joke, You ***** rule - Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -4/+69Only if a cow was driving the cart, and a duck was in the back seat saying something ironic.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -5/+61I think you both mean AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHhhhhhh... *plop*
- tblasko, on 10/11/2007, -6/+58Maybe he was looking for his ball
- Anrkist, on 10/11/2007, -9/+59Hole in one? or One in Hole...

pictures!! - Scrollfx, on 10/11/2007, -2/+44I bet this old man never ever dream that his death would bring in so much laughter. Bless him and his flying cart.
- bIuebonics, on 10/11/2007, -3/+41"Drugs or alcohol were not thought to have been factors in the crash."
yea right... is he playing the same golf that everyone else plays? alcohol was a factor... :P - Scyth3, on 10/11/2007, -10/+39I feel terrible for laughing at your comment
- goeatsmsht, on 10/11/2007, -7/+32Mind if I play through?
- uptown, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26....more evidence that they should!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+30MULLIGAN
- Netmindstorm, on 10/11/2007, -10/+31Great, now we'll start getting pressured from WAG (Wives Against Golfing) to have seat belts in the golf cart and no beer.
I guess he should have used a driver for that hole. - silverchrysalis, on 10/11/2007, -5/+26not to be callous or anything, but does this remind anyone else of a Far Side cartoon?
- Satanael, on 10/11/2007, -4/+23He wasn't golfing he was golf cart base jumping. New extreme sport.
- siddhartha1138, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17I live near here and drive by that golf course everyday, there is no way that cliff is 75 ft, its more like 20-25 feet and its not like the road is teetering on the edge of the cliff. Even if you were drunk you'd have to go out of your way to go off it.
- dyreschlock, on 10/11/2007, -5/+20More evidence that old people should not be allowed to drive.
- mccrusc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15I used to work at a golf course, and one morning I found one of our rentals in a creek.
I broke the transmission on one and had to drive it back to the shop backwards.
You can't hit squirrels with them-- as far as I can tell, it's impossible. - nutcase, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15find the cliff:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=2001+Old+Highway+395,+Fallbrook,+CA&sll=33.369818,-117.167473&sspn=0.189523,0.390015&layer=&ie=UTF8&om=1&ll=33.357757,-117.160757&spn=0.012241,0.022101&t=h&z=16 - Cerialthriller, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15wow that path does look kinda dangerous. atleast his clubs dont seem damaged.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17He was just looking for his Slazenger 9.8 m/s/s.
- HenvY, on 10/11/2007, -15/+26Apparently he had a poor drive.
- Blisshead, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13Maybe it was a heart attack or stroke.
- MrEguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10This happened in FALLBROOK, Calif.
There's irony for ya. - EochaidRiata, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11No, most people are done reproducing by age 65.
- Gr8Pumpkin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9The golf course is in Fallbrook, CA. He should have seen it coming.
- skankyBacon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Maybe no one finds your joke as funny as you do.
Just let it go. - imacashew, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5jesus...can you ***** at least skim the comments before making obvious lame jokes? that like the 5th time that joke was made
- bmartin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I agree, as long as they're driving in a way that doesn't put non-old-people at a risk.
- rbreece, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Wow, I'm surprised this story made it on Digg.
Here is the story and video the local news did.
http://www.fox6.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=bd6cabda-9e54-4428-bfce-0370d0047928 - DangerMouse9, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Yeah, it was actually 2 strokes. He was 2 over par so he drove off the cliff to avoid the shame.
- EochaidRiata, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Video: http://video.nbcsandiego.com/player/?id=110701
Screen cap: http://i19.tinypic.com/6h3xoh5.jpg - imacashew, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Props to H080J03...awesome pictures....I totally love the one with the guys golf shoe hangin' out from under the body bag with the seat on top.
I wonder if that shoe was still attached to the foot, and if that foot was still attached to that leg, and if that leg.... - TheBanditKing, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Understanding a joke doesn't make it funny. Unless that is you're the kind of person who likes to laugh at highbrow jokes to show those around you you "get it".
Luckily you don't have to worry about that pomposity in the anonymity of the internet
It wasn't really that funny, get over it. - imacashew, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4digg needs to implement screening for duplicate comments....
- Solis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Actually, I pictured that big distant shot of the atomic looking dust cloud from the Road Runner cartoons after Wile E. Coyote fell off a cliff.
- homerj1965, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Now that is a bad lie!
- ikak, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2RTA...
It said he was ejected from the cart before hitting the ground. Now, how much good is an airbag if theres nothing to hold you in the cart to make sure you hit the airbag? - newsheatdotcom, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6I guess his venture into Extreme Golf Carting will never take off...
- HowitZer25, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I almost crashed a cart when I was going downhill and the asphault was wet. I hit the brakes and we just slid down. I hate carts. Walking is way better.
- netferret, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Always wondered why they were birdies in golf.
- bunk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1how did his clubs stay in his bag?
- wiremonkeymommy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2for all those that wondered why he didn't bail... "object fixation phenomenon"
/hilarious, tragic, all rolled into one tiny morsel - bargainmusic, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5@airquotes
Yes, that was my own.
Thanks, i'll be here all week. - misterhat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I played the course a number of times about 8 years ago and that is definitely where it happened. Though when I played it that was the 10th hole. I'm sure they just changed the course around.
- lothar250, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5I always knew golf was a dangerous sport
