- Nidy1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+267At least it's unbiased...
- controltheweb, on 10/22/2007, -18/+257Browsing with Opera, dugg for IE: Ha! Ha! I'm surfing the internets!
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -7/+218firefox without extensions looks hardcore
- IpHa, on 10/19/2007, -11/+200My Firefox would be like the Humvee in the picture, but with a couple of RPG turrets and after burners.
- atdigg, on 10/25/2007, -39/+193Opera even though it has more features than Firefox has a smaller download, explain that... it's funny when I read about Opera's "bloat" and I point out that Opera is with 2MB smaller than Firefox.
- glasnt, on 10/22/2007, -7/+150Opera comes with a license to kill? Since when?
- backwoodsbob, on 10/22/2007, -6/+116Here's a question. I have noticed a severe slow down loading Digg pages, of late, with Firefox. As an experiment I switched to Opera and it loads much faster; about 1/3 the time. Anyone else notice this? I haven't noticed the difference with any of the other sites I usually visit.(o/s =Linux)
- terminal157, on 10/22/2007, -6/+113I jumped from Opera to Firefox for the extensions. The degree to which I've been able to fine tune my browsing experience with Firefox is amazing. I'd probably have to say that Opera is the better browser at the core, though. It's definitely faster.
- Verven, on 10/22/2007, -7/+79Bloat isn't anything to do with the size of the installer file.

Windows for Solitaire - Rapax, on 10/22/2007, -3/+63Absolutely true.
When it's running, the difference is even greater, Opera consumes quite a bit less resources than firefox, even without any 'extensions'. - dolske, on 10/10/2007, -5/+54FF based on the "core source for IE v4"? WTF? Uhm, no.
- bilgates, on 10/10/2007, -9/+56Opera looks James Bond style..
But, I still go with Firefox with Extensions. Adblock.. - gwhardyiv, on 10/22/2007, -1/+48Firefox...Opera...whatever. I think we're missing a good opportunity to unite as we all point our fingers and laugh loudly at Internet Explorer.

It makes heavy use of JavaScript and XUL, but JavaScript is in no way Java. The core of Firefox is C++/C. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -34/+75Windows for everything

- quii, on 10/22/2007, -4/+43James bond would use Lynx. Fact
- wolfie8914, on 10/22/2007, -3/+42The Internet Explorer caption honestly made me laugh out loud and now everybody in the room in looking at me...
- 0ceanic, on 10/22/2007, -2/+40opera has a very optimized rendering structure. it is capable of drawing the page element by element without needing to wait for the entire structure. it supports a true zoom. (for example opera can zoom a flash movie along with the page. ie7 can also do that, firefox wont until 3.)
excellent renderer. mobile phones, wii, new adobe reader, all use opera's drawing engine. - terminal157, on 10/10/2007, -5/+38Huh? Every firefox user I've ever spoken to uses a ton of extensions. On small random message boards I've visited there is usually a thread where people list their favorite extensions.
- HollowMarkeD, on 10/10/2007, -0/+33Very accurate picture :) I use Opera for casual surfing as its quicker and the hand gestures, buttons etc make browsing a lot more streamlined, but Firefox for work since it has lots of add-ons I can't do without (including StumbleUpon). I usually have both open on my desktop. As for IE, why bother, every time I use it I get virus alerts popping up.
- ffleming, on 10/10/2007, -6/+39Hey, I have a great idea! Let's argue about browsers on the internet, as if anyone will ever give a rat's ass what some internet nerd thinks is the best way to look at a web page. It can't go wrong, and I'm sure the discussion will be well informed, relevant, and interesting.
- lee85il, on 10/22/2007, -3/+35HA HA, I'm using the internet
- h4mx0r, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33I have 8 extensions and I actively use 6 of them on a near-daily basis.
- amc178, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30since last update, didn't you read the "new in this version" bit
- HigherLogic, on 10/18/2007, -7/+37Not as functional as a BASE installation of Firefox?! You've got to be kidding me. A lot of the extensions available for Firefox that you have to download are already included in Opera. On a purely base install to base install comparison, Opera is more functional (and faster, and lightweight) than Firefox. And the extensions that aren't already built in, most can be found for Opera as well. It surely wins in terms of customization as well, there's no denying that.
- ivanvanderbyl, on 10/10/2007, -3/+32Just about every web developer uses the FireBug extension, just to name one.
- Markpdotcom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+29Digg is awful in firefox! If I try to open several pages from diggs "live bookmark" in tabs and its so slow its unusable! I've only had this problem since the new comments system was added to Digg. Rubbish!
- myak, on 11/12/2007, -4/+32It's only because they have to. I haven't met anyone who would be tech savvy and using IE just because they like it.
- ForkySpoony, on 10/10/2007, -2/+29Its based off Netscape not IE
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+28It's spelled N-e-t-s-c-a-p-e, but it's pronounced Mozilla.
- Richandler, on 10/17/2007, -6/+31Wait so if you use Firefox you're either a little girl or a jarhead?
Since I just Opera I guess that makes me James Bond. - lowlywrm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+26I wouldn't say Firefox sucks, but I have noticed a speed issue. I have also noticed that, if I leave it up over the course of a few days, it tends to use up resources to the point that it slogs my system down. Shutting Firefox down and reopening it speeds things up again.
- heystoopid, on 10/10/2007, -16/+40Vista for zero productivity !
- Koedoe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24Huh? FF is based around IE v4's source code? I thought it started out from Netscape Navigator's source? Please can someone enlighten me...

Mac for when I have money - Baku, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21I like both Opera and Firefox, but also use FF for the extensions.
If Opera had the option to "dock" the addons like the del.icio.us plugin rather than having them as psudo-separate programs... I'd probably be using Opera. - bushnoh, on 10/22/2007, -2/+21http://xkcd.com/198/

- toxicityj, on 10/10/2007, -13/+32did you forget to install your sound card? yeah, you need that for sound.
- 0ceanic, on 10/25/2007, -6/+24opera has the ability to change the colors of any skin.
it renders everything fast. (sony, nintendo, and adobe all use opera's presto rendering engine)
it handles bit torrent links natively.
i never have to click on a back button, or a forward button, or a new tab button, a close button, or a refresh button.
and firefox doesnt zoom shockwave games, or flash movies. (hell even ie7 does that)
and i never see an ad. - blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19They have that for firefox already. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Other-Intern ...
- amadeusdemarzi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18ummmm, since when does opera use the webkit rendering engine?
