why are first posters often so trolly? - newstart, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22One day we'll run out of names for kids. The metrological deparment should look into this issue.

- Chenny, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20Why are hurricanes named after women? Because when they come they're wet and wild, and when they leave they take your house and your car.
- NanoStuff, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18"Germans stopped naming their babies "Adolph" after WWII."

"katrina."
"oh, ever hear of a tongue tornado?" - Battleloser, on 10/11/2007, -18/+33Don't worry, black people seem pretty good at pulling baby names out of their asses, we'll just get them to name em.
- silverchrysalis, on 10/11/2007, -10/+24"my name's timmy, what's your name?"

- gcnaddict, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12"wtf does battleloser have +4 diggs???"
Because there's nothing racist about his comment, perhaps? Culturally ignorant, sure, but not racist. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Thanks.
- Battleloser, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I'm like Mr.Colbert. I've moved beyond your petty ism wars! I can make jokes about people of other races without feeling bad about it, because that's how un-racist I am! Bruahaha

- drcreek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Same reason the name Chernobyl lost popularity in the late 80's.

- Ender008, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I think Katrina is an amazing name, it's too bad...
- gcnaddict, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5"It's true, what's ignorant about it?"
The comment assumes that only American Caucasians use any rhyme or reason in generating a name (or that they just use a book). It doesn't assume that other cultures may have other factors in deciding a name. Little River is a name, but we'd think of it as a name pulled "out of [Native American] asses" (in this case) simply because we're not familiar with that type of name. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This isn't news!
- FortyCaliber, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3In unrelated news... Fewer kids are named "Bertha" or "Eunice"
- moogle516, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7Yes lets dig this bastard down for having a supposed girlfriend.
- zombiedepot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Maybe they shouldn't give disasters human names.
- crashflow, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2actually, kids with those names are plenty.
But when they get to age of majority, they immediately change their names...right after they bludgeon their own parents to death. - Hoogs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2...and this is supposed to be surprising?
- lava, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I used to know a guy with the last name bacca, people begged him to name his kid jesus. Apparently, the nickname for jesus is chui, so the kid would be chui bacca.
- AgentConundrum, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Yes, Brownie did a heck of a job indeed.
- beneathbrooklyn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2i figure i'll name my offspring after ordinary things you find around the house...
