- mostie, on 02/06/2009, -3/+78Oh! Well if that's the case, then by all means, rob away!
- robwhite1979, on 02/06/2009, -4/+55WTF, how about instead of robbing some place you try these things: A) Find a job (even if it's low-pay and *****), B) Go back to school and retrain so you're skills are applicable, C) Welfare, D) Sell something/downsize... I could go on but I have work to do...
- d2002, on 02/07/2009, -0/+49There's no crying in bank robberies!
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -2/+49F) Sell that ass
- theblueprint, on 02/07/2009, -1/+34"Why not? Nobody ever robs restaurants. Bars, liquor stores, gas stations... you get your head blown off sticking up one of them. Restaurants on the other hand, you catch with their pants down. They're not expecting to get robbed. Not as expectant anyway."
- bringmeupmusic, on 02/06/2009, -5/+37Our home was recently robbed. I wouldn't feel better about it if the person came crying to us telling us they were down and out. It is a shame times are rough for people, but you don't see me hitting up the 7-Eleven and trying to steal extra change with my slurpie.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -2/+31E) have a few beers, and worry about it tomorrow.
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+25Any of you ***** pricks move, and I'll execute every ***** last one of you!!!
- Snappysnap, on 02/07/2009, -0/+25In the UK, Cherie Blair (Tony's wife and a judge) argued that women shouldn't be put in prison. Why? Because they have families that need them. Men in prison of course have no families and of course their families don't need them and they don't need their families. So she'd have us believe.
Yes, she really does want a sexist two-tier justice system. A harsh one for men and a kind, gentle one for women who cry a lot. - orithidon, on 02/06/2009, -3/+22yes, we don't see you because this is the internet...
though I feel bad that you were recently robbed, clearly these are desperate acts. - wunksta, on 02/07/2009, -2/+20"You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve."
- drapelyk, on 02/07/2009, -0/+17Tell that bitch to be cool! Say, bitch be cool! Say, bitch be cool!
- parax, on 02/07/2009, -0/+16Anyone with half decent character doesn't even have robbery on their mental list of options for handling a tough situation. She thinks her life is rough, how about the people whose luck is just as bad as hers, except now they're getting robbed?
- regression, on 02/07/2009, -0/+15I bet you could cut down on the hero factor in a place like this.
- coyote1284, on 02/07/2009, -2/+16"B) Go back to school and retrain so you're skills are applicable"
You see what you did there, right?
I'm not arguing against you. In fact, I agree. I just thought that it'd be better off pointed out nicely rather than some jackass who'd be nasty about it. - JoeMerchant, on 02/07/2009, -0/+14$30/ month = $1/day = 3 packs of Ramen Noodles = 570 calories, yep - not much for 2 people for 1 day.
Thing is, welfare / food stamps is more like $250/month per person - if you buy sensible food, you can be fatter than Oprah on $250 a month. - Murdats, on 02/07/2009, -1/+15so how many diggers have been to jail? everyone is an expert on what its like and apparently its just like in movies.
- Lavarock, on 02/07/2009, -0/+12bawwwwww,
lock her in a cell. - deadapostle, on 02/07/2009, -0/+11Crocodile tears.
- Lavarock, on 02/07/2009, -0/+11"If I wasn't down on my luck, I wouldn't be doing this"?
Okay, yep. Sex. - mattyk123, on 02/07/2009, -2/+11sounds like me when i'm having sex..
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+9We're going to be like three little fonzies, here! And what's fonzie like?
- Trekhawk, on 02/07/2009, -4/+13In all fairness, prison is a great way to save money on housing, food, health care costs.....you know, prison doesn't sound like a bad place to ride out a recession/depression.
- Chompy, on 02/07/2009, -0/+8There's no "waiting out" a recession in prison, because after you've been in jail you will never be able to get a decent job, no matter how well the economy is doing.
- kent1146, on 02/07/2009, -1/+9It actually became a lot tougher to get loans and federal grants after Bush and Congress passed a budget that de-emphasized educational spending.
I'm not Bush-bashing here (though I love to do it). Just simply stating a fact that may not make it as easy to "fill out a FAFSA [and]... probably get grants or something to go to college for free." - inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+8Black people don't either.
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -1/+8But I thought women never committed any crime?
- MaynardJK, on 02/07/2009, -0/+7"We should shoot them while they are robbing us"
I agree. - inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6She sounds like a real pushover. I would have just slugged her.
- jwolcott, on 02/07/2009, -1/+8"OK, OK, take it easy, I'll give you $200 for each tear if you suck my dick."
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6*****. Crime in general Will rise, but she deserves no simpathy.
- malman4, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6I usually cry painfully when I walk out.........
- allisonaxe, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6unless you can rap, in which case you get *better* gigs after some time in the clink.
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6Buried for cheap viagra.
- danthepiercer, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6yeah...um, no.
im just not into the whole prison butt love thing.
this economic ***** may suck, but at least when im in the shower the worst thing i have to worry about is my wife flushing the toilet. - DonnaPage, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6now this is funny
- opticwind, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6...$10 says you could drop a Joker quote on ANY digg article and still get dugg up.
- tnoy, on 02/07/2009, -0/+5Only thing?
You're forgetting about all the other important things, like oven mitts. - inactive, on 02/07/2009, -0/+5@murdats; You have no idea. Im a correctional officer ... I see it every day.
It ain't like the movies, and there is rarely a happy ending. - Biscuitz, on 02/07/2009, -0/+5Actually, our McDonalds pays 8-9 dollars an hour to hire on's. So yes, I do know, and with basic necessities, they would make it.
But it seems you don't know anything about it.
No wonder everyone is so blah, damn negativity doesn't help anything. - berroci, on 02/07/2009, -0/+5I usually get tearful too when I walk into a Long John Silver's.
- Biscuitz, on 02/07/2009, -2/+7You don't need credit to go back to college (I am living proof, will be graduating in March), and it's called Financial Aid. My school doesn't require us to even begin to start paying back our loans, until 6 months after graduation and my credit is ***** 6 ways from Tuesday, and I got into college 2 years ago, when Bush was in office, and as much as I can't stand him, I will say he had nothing to do with my getting to go back to school. Your statement is that of someone with no ambition to even try, maybe it's best you don't.
- t0ny, on 02/07/2009, -7/+12I know someone who is o welfare and it is a joke. They except two people to eat on $30 a month.
Also how can you go back to school if you dont have any money or credit? - connieLingus, on 02/07/2009, -0/+4she thinks she in bad shape now...wait til her first few "meals" in the county lock-up.
- danthepiercer, on 02/07/2009, -0/+4@ unreg
"Proportions of welfare recipients using, abusing, or dependent on alcohol or illicit drugs are consistent with proportions of both the adult U.S. population and adults who do not receive welfare" -http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/oct96/niaaa-23.htm - Biscuitz, on 02/07/2009, -1/+5Yes, to wrap around your neck when you're sleeping.
- ispshadow, on 02/08/2009, -1/+5A. Yes, there are jobs. I'm not trying to start an e-penis contest, but I've worked in a chicken house (ONLY english speaking worker on that shift besides the boss), fast food, gas stations, etc. I got my education and I work in IT now.
B. Get financial aid. If you get denied, you'll almost definitely be able to get student loans. I did (with ***** credit) with two other people and we managed to use the money to go to school AND support ourselves. It sucked and we were poor beyond reason. We pulled it off. It CAN be done.
C. It's time to "man up". You broke the law. Handle this problem, and many opportunities will open up. I'm not saying it will be easy, but I've done jail. You CAN handle it.
D. I'm sorry. That sucks. I was at the point more than once in my life. I hope this works out for you eventually. Really.
Unless you're stealing wifi or managed to get it free (ex. friend's house), this is an expense that could go. It's a tank of gas. I'm sure you may be feeling like you can't get out of this hole, but it will only get better if you make it happen. Telling people that you can't doesn't help your situation. A lot of people that are hurting in this crisis just don't want to work the jobs that are available. I'm sure that there may be somebody out there that really can't find a job anywhere, but I have a hard time believing it's as bad as ALL of them say. - mcquitty, on 02/07/2009, -0/+4Or any quote from Trading Places.
- CoD4, on 02/07/2009, -1/+5did someone call the whaaaambulance?
