- Claw787, on 05/27/2008, -1/+264I wonder who had guts to build it at the first place in 1901...
- Nobiting, on 05/27/2008, -11/+206Reminds me of Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
- OpCzar, on 05/27/2008, -3/+194I was just waiting for the moment when a cement platform would crumble from under his feet.
- UnterDenLinden, on 05/27/2008, -1/+185Woah, is it just me, or is he NOT clipping into the wire on the side, even for the parts where he tip-toes along the rails? Crazy.
- oMeSSiaHo, on 05/27/2008, -1/+131http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caminito_del_Rey
There is some information about the path. Apparently its closed but people continue to climb it anyway. - inactive, on 05/27/2008, -1/+102towards the end of the video there was a valve. My video gaming instincts tell me that I should detach it. You never know when a valve might come in handy.
- MrMax99, on 05/27/2008, -1/+87$50 bucks to anyone who skateboards down it
- sroop, on 05/27/2008, -2/+85Just waiting for some combine to repel down..
- inactive, on 05/27/2008, -0/+67I like the gaping hole in the center of the trail that the dude seems to breezily jaunt around. Id be ***** myself.
- livegreenordie, on 05/27/2008, -3/+68 Cliff walking from home--love it!
- Lagger, on 05/27/2008, -1/+61I wish he would stop looking down...
- CalamariAce, on 05/27/2008, -0/+55Looks like something out of one of the Myst games.
- grodrigu, on 05/27/2008, -0/+53Makes my heart pound just watching the video
- chadillak, on 05/27/2008, -1/+53nerdiest. comment. ever.
(but i do totally agree) - Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -1/+52There's no way I'd trust myself to walk that path. I can't even stand still on an even surface without stumbling and twisting my ankle.
- wutimatang, on 05/27/2008, -0/+46I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it looked like Lost Coast.
- mnemy, on 05/27/2008, -1/+46I was holding my breath watching the video. That dude must have balls the size of my head. He sees all the holes in the ground, yet he trusts it to hold his weight, as well as those rusted beams when the cement has fallen through.
- bigp3rm, on 05/27/2008, -2/+41Only NOOBs use the safety line. And yes I'm a noob.
- kidwithsword, on 05/27/2008, -0/+36How can the camera-man balance and walk across those crevices like that while he is holding a camera? He is crazy!
I agree with MacTyler. It seems like something out of Myst, the way the path is just built into the cliff sides like that. It boggles me how the engineers were able to figure out how to make it 107 years ago... - carpespasm, on 05/27/2008, -0/+35Those parts may have also crumbled out naturally, or when they were first weakened out and people started to notice they made the holes bigger on purpose to make sure someone who wasn't keeping a good eye out would be more likely to see it. Probably a combination of those and people actually stepping through.
- mixsense, on 05/27/2008, -6/+41These guys: http://www.funreports.com/img/863.jpg
- GrayJet, on 05/28/2008, -0/+34Half-Life 3 is looking better and better all the time. I like the handy-cam recording mode. The NPCs look great too. Look at how they react when the player walks past them. I hope the next gameplay video has some fighting in it, though.
- noots, on 05/27/2008, -0/+32yeah, it hurts my brain thinking about how they hauled all that concrete and steel up there in the first place.
- wastelander, on 05/28/2008, -0/+32I just hope he saved before crossing the gaps.. also how did he manage to continue without turning the crank?
- charm803, on 05/27/2008, -0/+32Mine too!
Now I can scratch it off my list of things to do before I die! - jonddoe, on 05/27/2008, -0/+32He is using the safety wire on the more dangerous parts. This is why it cuts after each dangerous part; he is unclasping from the safely wire.
- Boohickey11, on 05/27/2008, -2/+33Only a penitent man shall pass.
- apmtt, on 05/27/2008, -0/+31The others were stopping to tie themselves to different bits as they moved, where as this guy just walked. So no, apparently he wasn't.
- MacTyler, on 05/27/2008, -0/+31Reminds me of Riven
- shewasjustagrl, on 05/27/2008, -3/+34I don't know about you guys, but I found myself impulsively leaning left or right (away from the ledge side) throughout the entire video, praying that "I" wouldn't fall
- aMammoth, on 05/28/2008, -1/+24Everyone was ballsier in 1901.
- bigp3rm, on 05/27/2008, -2/+24That was SO hard for me to watch. My heart is still pounding.
- inactive, on 05/28/2008, -0/+22yeap, they put childproof electrical outlet covers in, and rubber corner guards on all the sharp edges.
- WNW3, on 05/27/2008, -0/+18Cliff walking from home is best given that I fell out of my chair twice watching that.
- Arcesius, on 05/27/2008, -3/+20You'd have to drug me and throw me in a burlap sack before you'd find me up there.
edit: well, you'd also have to carry me up there...
second edit: that, or winch me up... - vano21, on 05/28/2008, -0/+17Well... they closed the place down because people were getting killed all the time (tourists mainly). It is a famous tourist attraction in Malaga province in Costa del Sol, south of Spain.
It's about an hour driving from where I live. I have seen it but never had the gonads to even think about climbing it. - tradwolley, on 05/27/2008, -0/+17I thought people like that only existed in the internet. I guess we now know what they did between 1901 and computers.
- ELLIS1128, on 05/27/2008, -1/+18Looks like it has come straight out of an Indiana Jones movie.
- breezytrees, on 05/28/2008, -2/+18Dunno why you're being dugg down. I guess no one has played it. It was an additional single downloadable level valve released that showcased some new HDR technology. It was silently released on steam a year or so after the release of half-life 2
In the beginning of the level, you had to ascend a trail similar to this trail. It consisted of an extremely old and narrow 2 meter wide walkway and was directly over a large body of water. You had to ascend carefully though, as some parts of the trail are prone to collapse.
Also, the valve in the concrete block at the end of this video is icing on the cake...

EDIT: hmm whoops i guess he's dugg up. minor glitches in this new system. - welshboy82, on 05/27/2008, -8/+23My god that's so dodgy!!
- stubarwick, on 05/28/2008, -0/+15According to wikipedia...
"After four people died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, the local government closed the entrances; however, adventurous tourists still find their way into the walkway."
So at least four...
crazy none the less - 69sofine, on 05/28/2008, -0/+15I can't imagine why they would have closed it...
- deadnewton, on 05/27/2008, -2/+16wtf... i wouldn't try with railings...
- 333cale, on 05/28/2008, -1/+1350?
hell, I wouldn't for 50,000. - MacTyler, on 05/27/2008, -3/+15why? So you could shoot the artist?
- yourgiftsfree, on 05/27/2008, -2/+13Holy. *****.
- Disease, on 05/28/2008, -3/+14Pansy.
