- pac2290, on 08/26/2008, -12/+330I lost my brother when he was 17 after he graduated. We couldn't find him for three days until the car he was in was found in a lake close to New York. I am not asking for anybody's pity, I just want to be another person who preaches the same thing. It's stupid, please don't drink and drive. Please. If you want to see a good PSA there you go: http://www.wikizapping.com/videos/item/5121
- flapanthers87, on 08/26/2008, -67/+298Yah, smoke pot instead.
- doctechnical, on 08/26/2008, -4/+211Where's the cap that says "No, she's not as hot as she seems now"?
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -30/+203if you gonna drive don't drink, if you gonna drink don't drive
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -14/+164smart add? yeah
will it convince someone not to drink and drive? no - wildfire, on 08/26/2008, -3/+113Tell the hooker to get it on the way over...
- WhiskeyWrites, on 08/25/2008, -5/+108You aren't necessarily safer if you've been drinking. Yes, you may try to follow driving laws more closely, but that doesn't mean that your reaction times or awareness are better. You may think you are driving superbly, but you probably aren't.
- digitronix, on 08/26/2008, -8/+96"if you gonna drink don't drive"
How else are you supposed to pick up your beer at the store??? - m85476585, on 08/26/2008, -2/+77I think a lot of people are missing the point. When you open the bottle, it dents the car.
- nocturne81, on 08/26/2008, -0/+69twist off caps are consequence free apparently.
- WickEd101, on 08/26/2008, -6/+68Cute idea for a bottle cap. beats ***** pub jokes
- drmangrum, on 08/26/2008, -5/+54I don't need a stupid ad campaign to tell me that. I've lost far too many friends to drunk drivers. One of the saddest was a guy that had finally, after several years, got himself cleaned up: stopped drinking, stopped smoking pot, stopped doing cocaine. He even found a girlfriend that was starting to point his life in the right direction. Killed by a drunk driver soon after.
After seeing my parents, several friends, and family all suffer at the hands of drunk drivers, I have *ZERO* tolerance for that *****. There is never an excuse. Never. - lamiaconfitor, on 08/26/2008, -2/+47Your story works, PSAs don't... they always come across as patronizing, no matter how heart felt. People need real people to convince them of reason, take the keys away, punch their lights out if need be. But PSAs are more often then not, counter productive.

- sindex, on 08/26/2008, -4/+44Yeah, because you only go 4 miles per hour.
- batTUrd, on 08/26/2008, -7/+44Buried. That's not my car.
- dazparkour, on 08/26/2008, -12/+47Don't drive and smoke either - it makes you look like an ***** and gives people a reason to keep it illegal.
You should not be driving high. - borez, on 08/26/2008, -11/+42Never drink and drive... you'll spill it
- evilregis, on 08/26/2008, -2/+32I think stories like pac's only work on the people who are already smart enough to have made the proper decision to not drink and drive. The ***** who think it's cool or okay to drink and drive will just think that they're a better driver than pac's brother and that it will never happen to them because they've gotten away with it so far... they'll rationalize it some way.
My brother lost 5 friends in high school in one drunken car crash... a car that he was a passenger in not long before the accident occurred.
Yet his girlfriend at the time that that happened (who actually dreamt of the accident that night before they knew it happened -- weird), who witnessed this ***** first hand, some years later got wasted, went driving and hit and killed a pedestrian.
There are ***** ups in life that'll be ***** ups until the day they die. If losing 5 of your best friends in one accident due to drinking and driving doesn't set you straight, then what will? Certainly not a story like pac's, as sad as it is. - edwartica, on 08/25/2008, -14/+42I used to know someone who said the same thing. Guess what? He's in jail now for man slaughter because he plowed over a kid after having a couple beers.
- returnofthemac, on 08/26/2008, -0/+28"you drink you drive you spill" by NOFX. It's a song that IS in fact meant to be ironic. Relax.
- PopASquatt, on 08/26/2008, -0/+27I remember that night very well, there was a huge gang of us smoking by the bowling alley when the screeching sirens of the fire department raced by. I joked "Wow, they're in a hurry, must be a whore house on fire." We decided to go see what happened out of boredom, and after driving twenty-minutes we came across the crash. Our hearts stopped, and we finally realized what we had lost. A trail of glass and squeal marks leading up to our friends Mustang that was smashed into a tree with his body sticking out of the windshield.
I lost two friends that night, and the one that survived now has the mind of a 14 year-old. - LinuxCobra, on 08/26/2008, -3/+28I have some rare weed. Its almost a shame to smoke it. Its like killing a unicorn.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -61/+86"I say don't drink and drive
You might spill your drink
Before you get behind
the wheel, just stop
& think
You can take your chances
But there's so much to lose
Another bumpy road,
There's so much wasted booze
I'm not so worried
About how many I kill
I'm much more concerned
With how much beer I spill
35% of accidents
Are cause by pixilated
The other 65% are not
Alcohol related
What does this tell us
About the drunk drivers
They seem to have a
Better record than
the sober team
I'm not so worried
About how many I kill
I'm much more concerned
With how much beer I spill
" - Nevermindz, on 08/26/2008, -2/+26Don't drink and drive. Smoke and fly.
- PPCG4, on 08/26/2008, -0/+23I'd assume that the act of drinking behind the wheel of a running car would be enough.
- zantos420, on 08/26/2008, -2/+24it means, "if you are having fun and the government isn't getting their cut"

- NJank, on 08/26/2008, -1/+23last I checked: "not legal". But maybe it's like that 'new math' them yung'uns are learnin'.
- siobhankeogh, on 08/26/2008, -0/+22My cousin was killed by a drunk driver who managed to swerve across two lanes of traffic at bout 100km/h. He was 26 years old. The driver walked away without a scratch and got 18 months in prison (hardly ***** anything, if you ask me). He'd already been caught driving drunk twice previously and they hadn't taken his license off him. I don't know how the police are supposed to stop people from driving drunk before they kill somebody if they barely punish them for doing it.
As sad as it is, I'm just glad that the guy's car didn't hit the family of five that was driving a few seconds behind my cousin and called the accident in.
Diggers: Before you drink and drive, remember that the people inside those little steel boxes are not invincible and neither are you. How would you feel if it was your sister killed, or your brother or one of your parents or the love of your life? After Jonathan's death I saw some of the most terrible things I have ever seen, but the worst of all was seeing the family completely and utterly broken and seeing the strongest people I know just sobbing. All because of one idiot. Don't be that idiot. - Idiggapony, on 08/26/2008, -4/+25Kingjam, you're wrong. You do not drive more safely after a few beers. Please do the rest of the world a favor and stop driving when you drink. I've seen far, far too many young innocent people paralyzed or killed because of people like you who thought they were just a little bit buzzed, but were still okay to drive.
And when you drive sober, could you please muster up the energy to move your left pinky the two inches that it takes to use your turn signals? We'd all really appreciate it. Thanks. - caseycoold, on 08/26/2008, -3/+24[citation needed]
- drmangrum, on 08/26/2008, -0/+20I don't think it was meant to be humorous. I'm reading it as more ironic.

- RoccoMcTaco, on 08/26/2008, -4/+22Friends Don't Let Friends Watch Friends.
- faded85, on 08/26/2008, -8/+25there have been studies that imply that smoking pot before driving is less dangerous than consuming alcohol.
- daridave, on 08/26/2008, -2/+19EXACTLY. Many accidents happen where the driver, drunk, doesn't do anything wrong... but it's someone else who smashes into you, which you can't avoid because you think you're fine, but you're actually operating in slow-mo ...
- cl2yp71c, on 08/26/2008, -3/+20Seth Rogan in Knocked Up: "Don't drink and bone."
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -9/+25I don't believe you.
- floridiot2, on 08/26/2008, -1/+17Soo.. what you're telling me is I have to drink the beer without opening the bottle.
- jackieshmackie, on 08/26/2008, -4/+18i also have ZERO tolerance for drinking and driving. i think it's one of the most selfish, despicable things someone can do. but my opinion makes me very unpopular with most of my peers in college. it's sad and ridiculous that everyone rationalizes it. ugh there was even one party i went to where the my friend's mom told her she was fine to drive after several drinks, and when i protested she got angry with me for doubting her mom's opinion. it's a very awkward position to be the only person taking a stand against it when someone goes for their keys, but i could care less about them, i'm mostly worried about the innocent people they'll hurt.
- KRY4no1, on 08/26/2008, -1/+15You shouldn't drink and drive, and YOU specifically just shouldn't drive, since you're admittedly so terrible at it.
- koolkluxklan, on 08/26/2008, -3/+16deaths due to alcohol each year= around 100,000
deaths due to driving each year= around 40,000
deaths due to drink driving each year= around 18,000
deaths due to drink driving whilst juggling each year= 5
i say go drink driving and make sure you keep a few juggling balls in your glovebox. - dazparkour, on 08/26/2008, -2/+15You fail at math.
Plus that joke is all over the comments already - so I'll tell you why you are stupid - MORE PEOPLE DRIVE SOBER, A LOWER PERCENTAGE CRASH.
Loud enough to get through? - bnorman, on 08/26/2008, -4/+17Wow, could you be anymore of a douche?
If you want to go and have 'a few beers' walk there, or get someone to drive you, if you have any friends that is. - amc1709, on 08/26/2008, -1/+13Dude, I thought the same thing, right up until the point I went careening off the on-ramp, almost hit a tree, and ended up in jail. Numbness in my hands for three weeks, 5 days in jail and almost $5,000 later (not to mention 1 year of a restricted license, and 12 weeks of drunk driving school that I had to pay for) I've decided I don't drive better with a few beers in me.
- Jeffler, on 08/26/2008, -6/+18Though your message is nice, it also screams "MADD fear tactic". Not that anything's wrong with that, but don't lie about knowing someone.
- eSentrik, on 08/26/2008, -0/+11I saw this article, google'd the lyrics, switched back to make my post, and then read your comment. Great minds think alike, I guess.
