- krets, on 11/17/2007, -29/+237This is exactly why dogs > cats.
- meman2, on 11/17/2007, -6/+164Dogs are more noble than we are.
- squirrelza, on 11/17/2007, -4/+130I hate sad animal stories :(
- zeptobyte, on 11/17/2007, -5/+100I actually prefer cats, myself, but I must admit that a cat would be like "screw you, good luck" and walk away. Or take a nap.
- TheKrillr, on 11/17/2007, -4/+80My cat's eyes would have gone "OMG WORLDZ BEGGESSTT FYREPLAZE!" curl up and take a nap in front of it.
- Skepsis, on 11/17/2007, -1/+67It even says that the dog was abused by its previous owner. That just shows how forgiving dogs can be. It is amazing what we can learn from our pets.
- iceman0113, on 11/17/2007, -1/+62FTA: "Smith says he nearly lost his own life going back for Storm. Two Carter Lake firefighters had to pull him out the back door, where he collapsed while trying to save his pet. "I know it was stupid, but ... people with pets understand," he said."
Such a tragedy, but I understand why he had to do it. I would've gone back for my dog if I was in that predicament. - xOKxWhy, on 11/17/2007, -2/+62Oh man, now I'm thinking about Futurama with Fry and his dog. So sad
- Hayaemsay, on 11/17/2007, -2/+37Jurassic Bark *sob*
- dxmzan, on 11/17/2007, -2/+35I hope fluffy lets you sleep while your house goes up in flames.
- darkyplasma, on 11/17/2007, -18/+50Dogs are smarter than cats and are more lovable. This is why dogs rule! ^_^
- TheKrillr, on 11/17/2007, -0/+29I doubt it would have mattered either way. When you're part of a pack, human or otherwise, you risk your life for the others in your pack. Hence why when this man noticed his dog didn't come with him, he ran back in to get him... hence why so many dogs in so many situations have risked their lives to save their owners.
It's called loyalty. - Roger, on 11/17/2007, -1/+27Dammit I just was just getting over that, thanks for the reminder :(
- inactive, on 11/17/2007, -5/+30cats are as capable, if im ever uneasy my cat trys to cheer me up. She wakes me up for school and always trys to talk to me in chrups and meows(im stillin waiting for her first word), Its just that stupid people neglect there cats and feed them crap so they become fat and lazy.
- WNW3, on 11/17/2007, -0/+24""I know it was stupid, but ... people with pets understand," he said."
Gaddam RIght - raiderj, on 11/17/2007, -3/+27Wouldn't trade my pound puppy for anything!
- scabbers, on 11/17/2007, -6/+29A lot of cats would go ***** nuts and try to wake you up just the same. It's not really a huge surprise that a dog alerted him, or that a cat would... how stupid do you think these critters are?
- kaytrio, on 11/17/2007, -9/+31I CAN HAZ WARMTH?!
(I'm so sorry) - wabbiteh, on 11/17/2007, -3/+25Would they be tears of oil? You know your mechanical systems cannot feel true love, you ROBOT!
- cub404n, on 11/17/2007, -0/+22 i like this story becuase almost everyone can connect and feel for the guy who lost his dog. :(
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 11/17/2007, -1/+22Some people don't understand how much animals can love.
- fuzzmeister, on 11/17/2007, -4/+24Dogs may _be_ smarter, but cats usually act smarter.
- bubba9999, on 11/17/2007, -0/+18life at your house must suck. Girlfriend? Replaceable? Kids? I can make more...
- wilf_brim, on 11/17/2007, -0/+17Saw that. Feeding it peroxide. Sorry, but that is well and truly messed up.
- Flizzle, on 11/17/2007, -0/+16When I get my own dogs, they're definitely coming from a shelter. The best dog I've ever had came from a rescue home, my beautiful Bellum =)
I miss her so much when I'm at university!! - Kronikle, on 11/17/2007, -0/+16That was probably one of the saddest things I've ever seen on TV :(
- Murdats, on 11/17/2007, -0/+16you knew that it was comming

read the mouseover text - lolwtfhaha, on 11/17/2007, -2/+17Trolls are replaceable too. BANG
- Graves138, on 11/17/2007, -0/+15If it takes forever, I will wait for you
For a thousand summers, I will wait for you - richardiscool, on 11/17/2007, -0/+15Pictures of his dog in his coat pocket.
- bitt3n, on 11/17/2007, -2/+16if I were your dog and you named me fluffy, I would let you burn for that fact alone
- milkmage, on 11/17/2007, -0/+14breed? ***** that. all 6 of you just go to the pound - the dog will pick you as much as you pick it. you'll just know.
- 40hands, on 11/17/2007, -8/+22No it's not. You think a cat is going to sit around and not freak out just the same? This is why people who love both > dog fanboys.
- alpha94, on 11/17/2007, -1/+15Wow, you're a first class *****.
- Arkavus, on 11/17/2007, -1/+15Everyone that has the time to commit to a dog should get one. Unfortunately a lot of dogs get neglected because their owners are too lazy to make sure they get enough exercise and are treated with enough attention.
- Fizban140, on 11/17/2007, -1/+15Obviously you are an *****, and that guy isn't, you make a good point.
- daridave, on 11/17/2007, -0/+13You know, that's not entirely true. My neighbor had an heart attack some time ago, and not only did the cat feel it coming (he kept sitting on him that day, usually he's never around), when the person started feeling sick, he litterally nailed himself on his chest and had to be forced away, he wouldn't let go. The cat might not have done anything to save him, but he never let go of him... far from the "screw you" typical feline attitude... so I guess they're not all bad... cats can be good, too.
- bubba9999, on 11/17/2007, -1/+14Mutts. Hybrids are smart and fun to play with.
- eRock33, on 11/17/2007, -0/+13My friend's cat woke her when her house was on fire, she and her cat were able to escape. I'm just saying...
- airwalkery2k, on 11/17/2007, -2/+15Aye. Anybody who didn't shed a tear is clearly not human. Or is just a cat person.
- Fizban140, on 11/17/2007, -5/+18No, cats act stuck up and all around bitchy. They don't care about you, all they want is food and a place to crap.
- EmitStop, on 11/17/2007, -0/+12Border Collie. Nice dogs.
- elvenseven, on 11/17/2007, -2/+13http://www.digg.com/users/bingobongony/history/com ...
Someone needs a hug. - princessToBe, on 11/17/2007, -1/+12My dog comes and gets me when somebody's at the door he'll sit and look at me weird or he'll run around in circles to get my attention
- ragmaster, on 11/17/2007, -0/+11Get a pug. You can't resist to smile when one is staring at you.
- Fizban140, on 11/17/2007, -0/+11Get a Beagle.
- kakwakas, on 11/17/2007, -1/+12Not if you raise them right. :]
- wilf_brim, on 11/17/2007, -2/+12You could get another pet, but they are not replaceable. Yes, they probably aren't worth dying over, but they aren't like getting a new 'puter or whatever.
