Tracy - imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6They are above the law, despite what they want you to think.
- Dradis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think the residents around where those cops live should, one day, simply walk into the officer's homes, and say "Hey Derek/ Pat, have you seen my screwdriver? I can't find it anywhere!" then continue to walk through the home, searching through their underwear drawers, medicine cabinets, etc.
- skyorbit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7That kind of mentality disgusts me. I met a cop one time who had just become a cop, and I asked him how he liked it. He said, "It's great! Now I can get into bar fights with-out getting into trouble." And he wasn't joking.
Most cops aren't any better then the average welfare mom. They receive a check from the state, with confiscated tax dollars. Many of them are worse -- because instead of just squandering those tax dollars, instead of "protecting us" they're harassing and many times hurting us.
Tracy - freebirdpat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They are above the law as long as the press or internal affairs doesn't get a hold of it.
- FullBleed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The thing that really amused me is how this whole thing sounds like the setup for a wacky childrens show, comic, etc.
Get ready to follow the adventures of the clever adolescent sleuth Mirage (which on its own is already a decent character name) and her wacky talking Persian cat!
Hilarity and madcapped hijinx ensue, of course. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Like Conrad Dobler used to say, 'It aint' a penalty unless you get caught.' Well, guess what, they got caught, and they should go to jail.
- Smoove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Get real, people. These cops were on the people's business, and you act like they're some kind of criminals. They were obviously following up on a terrorism tip that led them straight to this girl's underwear drawer.
- szelij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They're only above the law if you don't have money to hire a lawyer.
- mikbunn, on 02/11/2009, -0/+1It's not a legitimate excuse, but most police aren't given hard time because they'll be killed in prison.
Those the public entrusts with special rights (police, politicians) should be held to a higher standard. - wvdavis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1But... but... the NSA does it. It must be ok.
- skyorbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1LOL
