- alex7575, on 10/19/2007, -3/+15You all need to realize that in Brazil it's summer when it's winter here, and vice versa. There's a reason they're half naked in mid February (it's end of summer over there, when winter time's still lingering in Japan).
Also, if you're wondering, Brazil has the biggest Japanese community outside of Japan, I'm guessing they have a big Brazilian communitity in Japan also. - superyounan1, on 10/18/2007, -0/+8Everyone knows how much the japanese love cultural diversity in their country! And how highly esteemed the Japanese Brazilian immigrants are!
- inactive, on 10/18/2007, -1/+8I noticed "two things" that were not quite up to Brazilian Carnival standards.
- r00tus3r, on 10/19/2007, -0/+6Dude, you're a nerd.
Luckily, you've come to the right place. - masamunecyrus, on 10/18/2007, -0/+5Shortly after WWII, during Japan's economic boom, there was a large amount of Japanese that emigrated to Brazil and vice versa. In fact, the largest Japanese population outside of Japan is in Brazil. Because of that, it isn't unusual to see some Brazilian people or Brazilian restaurants or grocery stores here in Japan. Apparently they have an annual festival in Tokyo, too.
- FlyCO, on 10/18/2007, -1/+6replace those bikini with dental floss, and it will feel like a real Brazilian Carnival
- inactive, on 10/18/2007, -2/+6I noticed that the girls weren't as hot as they are by Brazilian Carnival standards.

- FlyCO, on 10/18/2007, -0/+4Everyone knows how much the North-Americans love cultural diversity in their country! And how highly esteemed the Latin-American immigrants are!
- canha, on 10/21/2007, -1/+5Mambo? WTF?
- pwr4, on 10/19/2007, -0/+3I've been to Brazil twice, once for Carnival once for New Years (the second biggest party in Brazil). I took Samba lessons for a year. Here's what's off.
1. They suck at dancing Samba- some of the Asian girls in the video are just twisting their hips, not shaking it. The Brazilians who dance and are in good shape all have Sir-Mix-A-Lot approved asses. Not fat, very muscular. Even the Asian girls who live in Brazil develop those Samba asses.
2. Lack of passion. The adrenaline and energy pouring from the dancers and much of the crowd can rival the most passionate U.S. sporting event. This parade was sorely lacking except from the dancers who were obviously Brazilian.
3. Skin. The only thing men and women need to cover in the parade are their genitals...and even those get exposed sometimes while dancing.
The two best places in the world to see Carnival are Rio de Janeiro (they have an 80,000 seat stadium designed for the parade) and Trinidad/Tobago. - Mononuclear, on 10/18/2007, -0/+3Welcome the start of Brazilian jujitsu and the Gracie legacy.
- robotsongs, on 10/18/2007, -0/+3No Boobies != Carnival
It's as if the Japanese are reserved or something... - Schmapdi, on 10/18/2007, -0/+3The phrase "shake it like a white girl" came to mind.
- morningmatters, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2Odd, considering Nagoya has lots more Japo-Brazilians.
- lizard3k, on 10/25/2007, -1/+3In related news.. Samba de Amigo is coming to Wii: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163152
- lampiaio, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2Japan is the #1 destination of Brazilian emigrants (followed by the US in second, and Europe as a whole in 3rd).
- neodorian, on 10/19/2007, -0/+2No, I came here to see if anyone else made a similar joke.
/sudo make me a sandwich - smackhero, on 10/21/2007, -0/+2cuba is quite a distance from brazil.
- ipodman715, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2Just about to say that. So true.
- Falldog, on 10/27/2007, -2/+3The editing and sound quality?
- superyounan1, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1i doubt you've traveled much, there is scathing racism all around the world in homogeneous nations, racism that rivals the worst america has to offer. Unless you've experienced it first hand, its hard to appreciate just how well different cultures get along in all the metropolitan areas in the US.
Plus I'm an american, and I love latin-americans. They're warm, kind people. Legal Latinos are integral to our society and our economy would wither without the illegals immigrants. - Speaking, on 02/08/2008, -0/+1mostly
- stu42j, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1When I was in Tokyo a few months ago, there was some kind of Jamaican/reggae festival going on at Kasai Rinkai Park.

- TVo14, on 10/18/2007, -0/+0come on, its not boobies it missing. Everyone knows that Brazil is the number one exporter of thick asses. And Japan is an exporter of flat asses but make up for it in amounts of bukakke fluids. Real Brazilian samba is full of delicious jungle booties.
- ZenMojo, on 10/18/2007, -1/+1Ass so small you can't see it from the front. Their samba sauce is weak.
- RioGangsta, on 10/18/2007, -1/+1CADE AS MULHERES PELADAS????????????????????????????
Translation: Where are the naked chicks?????????????????????????????? - Speaking, on 10/18/2007, -2/+1Japanese immigration to brazil is mostly one sided. Though many Jap-Brazilians have an easy time immigrating to Japan. Many Japanese came because of the explosive growth in brazilian farming (parts of brazil can grow two full crops a year) and the work that represented, also, prior to WW2 (and to this day) Brazil has one of the best and most open international immigration and trade policies. So the Japanese had any easy time leaving Japan in the run up to WW2.
- str3ama, on 10/18/2007, -2/+1you know there's a lot of drag queens in carnival ..
- inactive, on 10/21/2007, -7/+1ha ha, id rather go to Brazil and get my mambo on! dugg
