- jerryjamesstone, on 03/22/2009, -1/+12Hmm...I hope it don't sink. That is a lot of trash in the ocean....
- Gr00ver, on 03/23/2009, -1/+10One man's trash is another man's.. boat?
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -1/+10*sigh*
'i'm on a boat..' - Natealus, on 03/23/2009, -0/+5Chill out dude. Or is it your personal mission in life to be a hater?
- jjc5004, on 03/23/2009, -1/+5Is it just me or does the guy look like Desmond from Lost? I think this is going to end badly for him.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -3/+7The title makes it sound like they've already made the voyage; buried as inaccurate.
- BenTheTank, on 03/23/2009, -2/+5Ok dude. See you on the news when you're being rescued.
- pak314, on 03/23/2009, -1/+4Must be nice to be part of the Rothschild banking family rich enough so you can all this stuff.
- vsaint, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3Correct title: Boat made mostly of plastic bottles to attempt to sail from California to Australia
- inactive, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3I seriously don't get stuff like this, what does this accomplish? Is it supposed to be offsetting some carbon footprint? This is about as retarded as that earth day where you're supposed to turn your lights off for 60 minutes and sing cumbaya
- Fortuna, on 03/24/2009, -0/+3The title impressed me, until I realized that the description indicates it hasn't even happened yet.
- Ragzouken, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2No, it's written in present tense. The boat sails, not the boat has sailed. It's happening.
- depro9, on 03/24/2009, -1/+3Like whoa, he is a Rothschild $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
- ziadeh, on 03/22/2009, -0/+2lol I think they pick up the trash on the way for maintenance.
- Omek, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2I'm on a boat (I'm on a boat)
I'm on a boat (I'm on a boat)
Everybody look at me 'cause I'm sailing on a boat (sailing on a boat) - borez, on 03/23/2009, -1/+3That journey is going to take a lot of bottle.
- poogy21, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2sounds like a bunch of rubbish to me! ;)
- Good luck! - SwiftKick34, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2I'm on a boat ***** take a look at me
Straight flowing on a boat on the deep blue sea - centran, on 03/24/2009, -1/+3What ever happened to that dude that built the plastic bottle island? Did he rebuild that after it got "trashed" by a hurricane?
Maybe the island dude and the boat dude should hook up and build something even more awesome? - KiraDnote, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2Bottles? There aren't any bottles. Are you blind?
- centran, on 03/24/2009, -0/+2I'm on a boat, I'm on a boat
Take a good hard look at the ***** boat - trademark912, on 03/24/2009, -1/+3I will rejoice in the ironic gift this boat will give to the Pacific when it capsizes.
- poogy21, on 03/23/2009, -0/+1s
- replaysMike, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2STOP POLLUTING OUR OCEAN!
oh wait... - TheMachine1, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2If its not UV stabilized and/or designed to last I say its adding to the global waste problem. Filling the bottles with foam with likely be required (making recycling at a later date much less likely). I've done some experiments with PET bottles heating them in water baths with the bottled filled with cold water and got them to shrink to a thicker plastic. A method to precisely reduce a 2 liter PET down to a stronger bottle would be cool.
- inactive, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2Hey look! Its the bling boat...
- NoozeHound, on 03/25/2009, -1/+2Was I the only one that despite the competely obvious 'Boat Made of Plastic Bottles' was put in mind of The Black Freighter?
- faraggi, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2Didn“t anyone else think the boat was ACTUALLY made from the bottles?
Or did I just short circuit my brain... - flamesoftheend, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2What chemicals did it leach into the ocean? Dont drink the ocean! It may have Antimony! Omgz!
- Axeman2063, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2Better hope the skipper's a mighty sailor man....
- m0llusk, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2As a destination for a ship "down under" is a bit ominous.
- BROKE2012, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2Boats 'n hoes, boats 'n hoes. I gotta have me mah boats 'n hoes...
- aubinhick990, on 03/24/2009, -1/+2This is cool and all, but isn't it a waste....?
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -1/+1Probably safer than most catamarans as long as the means of attaching the bottles is well tested.......
- greenlight2001, on 03/23/2009, -1/+1The whole thing?!
- Natealus, on 03/23/2009, -2/+2After watching that video... I wanna go.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -2/+2Maybe they should stop at the big swirling mass of plastic swirling in the ocean for a photo op
- johnny989, on 03/24/2009, -1/+1David de Rothschild? more like david lee roth
