Blog: RIAA worse than illegal downloaders

rawstory.com — Technically, what the RIAA is doing seems legal--it is suing people for illegally accessing their property. However, just as their legal targets are getting otherwise legal content in an illicit method, so is the RIAA. The methods they are using the get money from people are as illicit as the music their targets are downloading.

If you watch a video from Thehill88 on youtube, when she meets Weird Al he thought it was cool his music video was uploaded everywhere and stuff, I'm sure lots of other artists think it also but the RIAA is too damn strict. Also if it wasn't for P2P sharing bands like Linkin Park wouldn't be where it is today.

    ...and both are comparable to borrowing a DVD/CD from a friend and watching/hearing it. No money goes to the makers, unless you like it enough to buy it.
