*cringes at own ***** joke* - SEN5241, on 06/19/2009, -7/+138Why is this map is based on a Mercator projection superimposed on a round surface? Look how big Greenland is in relation to the South American continent. It seems daft.

- Nephersir7, on 06/19/2009, -1/+9Yes you are
- maleficdog, on 06/19/2009, -1/+8I guess he used lemon juice in order to prevent the carved surface from oxyding.
- insertAliasHere, on 06/19/2009, -0/+6Yeah, I was going through the slideshow too. A few creative ideas, but they don't really have any depth. I did like the Hawaii one, that was a neat idea. But what is ***** in a litterbox in the shape of a fingerprint supposed to mean?
- adderley, on 06/19/2009, -0/+6Love it. This is the best one imho.

Also, apple juice oceans - quikbmwkid, on 06/19/2009, -0/+5and how he didn't ***** censor
- darthvalium, on 06/19/2009, -1/+6the mercator projection is somewhat imperialistic.
- MxM111, on 06/19/2009, -0/+4Because it is not projection of the Earth.
It is projection to the apple surface of Mercator projection of the Earth. Duh! - TommyGunn32, on 06/19/2009, -0/+4Well, you're sitting here on Digg leaving comments like the rest of us, so I'm not sure what getting outside has to do with it..
Come on, admit you're unemployed and sitting in your parent's basement waiting to troll Digg like the rest of us. - tomg025, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4why what? why anything? why you? why me? how did we get here? what are we supposed to do? do we have a purpose? what effect do we have on each other's lives? i suggest you watch a german film titled Run Lola Run to learn a thing or two or three or five before you ask such STUPID questions!
- DirtPile, on 06/19/2009, -27/+31They're all red states!
- lougoose, on 06/19/2009, -0/+4That is the weirdest thing i have seen all week.
- comradeTJH, on 06/19/2009, -1/+5Yeah, he bit off whole Denmark.
- BrendanSheehan, on 06/19/2009, -0/+4Poor Northern Ireland, he clearly chopped them right-off during production.
- reckonbeats, on 06/19/2009, -1/+5It's a political statement. The artist does not recognize Madagascar.
- Gravey9, on 06/19/2009, -4/+8HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
- allyclark, on 06/19/2009, -0/+3I'd like to see the video of that
- PenisBreath, on 06/19/2009, -0/+3you should see my penis...
- apoc68, on 06/19/2009, -0/+3@ Darthvalium: It's not imperialistic, it was accurate to the point for its intended use, which was navigation. Navigator knew about the stretching effect toward the poles on the map and had scales that accurately compensated.
The argument against the map is the positioning of the countries -- North America prominent top left, Europe and Russia top right, everything below. This argument spawned mostly from other map makers with different methodologies of constructing a map, all equally valid yet all with major flaws as well. It's impossible to project the surface of a sphere accurately onto a flat rectangle. I want to eat an apple now. - XkenX87, on 06/19/2009, -0/+3He's like YEAH I found my niche.
and yet hes on digg for an apple. - WhiskeyLemur, on 06/30/2009, -0/+3Probably the weirdest thing the guy's poor, traumatized cat has seen all year =(
- aerovisor, on 06/19/2009, -0/+3you guys are so cool
- radialturkey, on 06/19/2009, -1/+3They need to do way instain mother!
- Chris1280, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Steve job's dream.
- thirdeyeopen, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2He must have carved that out pretty fast, its barely browned.
- VodkanLemons, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2Russia is on the back of that apple, and it's ***** HUGE!
- m3arvk, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Their ports are closed anyways.
- radialturkey, on 06/19/2009, -1/+3It's a globe.. It doesn't have a name for its projection because the point of the different projections are to try to accurately depict a sphere in 2D.
- LimeParrot, on 06/19/2009, -4/+6lol your self-rebuttal made it funny
- mohrt, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2The whole map is out of scale for that apple. If you are looking at all of north and south america, you might see the left-most tip of africa, but thats about it.
- likeyehokwhatev, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Finger...*****?
- TommyGunn32, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Pot to the kettle?

- dayoldblues, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Dugg for accuracy in that the brown parts used to be white, just like our planet used to be clean.
- inactive, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1What happened to Florida?
- jfield1, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1A "known it all elitist" would know that it's not "KNOWN it all elitist".
I'm calling BS on your coding. - zxsaint, on 06/20/2009, -0/+1now it's clear why adam didn't want his god damn apple back
