- cyberdork, on 01/05/2008, -1/+2How come what you Americans call Patriotism is called Nationalism in the rest of the world?
- Prototek, on 01/05/2008, -0/+1The red and white make your eyes look painfully bloodshot, and the blue is just grossly unnatural.

- sfacets, on 01/05/2008, -0/+1Perhaps you guys should get rid of the East India Trading Co. logo.
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -2/+3That is really disturbing. It's something I'd expect from the Bush idiots, but Fred Thompson fans? I thought he and his followers were at least a bit sane.

Patriotism means love and devotion for your country. This is an expression of patriotism.
Nationalism is an ethno-political ideology that sustains the concept of a nation-identity for an exclusive group of people. Like Nazi Germany. It implies the belief that your nation or culture is superior to others. "America number 1!" is Nationalism.
The only real difference between the two is that nationalism implies superiority over others. - zerobackup, on 01/05/2008, -1/+2Because Patriotism sounds so much friendlier than nationism. Just like we call civillians "insurgents". Or depending on our alliegance rebels are either "terrorists" or "freedom fighters". Never forget that the founding fathers were all commiting high treason and would have been hanged in England as war criminals. I always try to put a diferent perspective on "terrorist" acts, it's very had sometimes but seeing things from the other side's viewpoint can really help understand global conflicts. Oh wait, I just commited the most un-American act ever, I humanized the enemy!

- Coven, on 01/05/2008, -1/+2Some people need to go review the United States Flag Code...
United States Code Title 36 Chapter 10 ยง176(d) "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. " - stonebear, on 01/05/2008, -0/+1Makes the Goths, with their white contacts, look downright lovable, doesn't it.
