- phathurkryme, on 11/14/2008, -3/+63This is absolutely absurd! Why should a judge have power over any man, let alone that much power? You go, Ian!
- error10, on 11/14/2008, -3/+59Secret trials, too. America (or at least this judge) has gone off the rails.
- margomaps, on 11/14/2008, -2/+52Wow. I'm not surprised the judge tried to "send a message" since I'm sure he's not used to people disobeying him, but 90 days in jail??? That's absurd! Isn't this rather obviously cruel & unusual punishment?
- slimat420, on 11/14/2008, -2/+46I guess the Judge is now the emperor of Keene NH. You have to kiss the ring or get tossed in to the dungeon.
- dgoddard, on 11/14/2008, -2/+42NH Constitution, Part I, Art. 18
http://www.nh.gov/constitution/billofrights.html
[Art.] 18. [Penalties to be Proportioned to Offenses; True Design of Punishment.] All penalties ought to be proportioned to the nature of the offense. No wise legislature will affix the same punishment to the crimes of theft, forgery , and the like, which they do to those of murder and treason. Where the same undistinguishing severity is exerted against all offenses, the people are led to forget the real distinction in the crimes themselves, and to commit the most flagrant with as little compunction as they do the lightest offenses. For the same reason a multitude of sanguinary laws is both impolitic and unjust. The true design of all punishments being to reform, not to exterminate mankind. - AbsurdParadox, on 11/14/2008, -1/+39Maybe I should move sooner than I was planning.

- dreepa, on 11/14/2008, -2/+36Anarchy in Your Head.com said it best..... move to NH NOW!
www.freestateproject.org - denmorin, on 11/14/2008, -1/+35Obviously trying to make an example of Ian. This sure as hell isn't stopping me from moving to NH, just makes me want to get there faster
- libervisco, on 11/14/2008, -1/+33What exactly is a "position"? You're saying 2+2=5. Positions can't be respected, humans can. It's this kind of thinking that you exhibit which gives rise to tyrannies which we're witnessing. Deluding yourself into belief that things which are mere imaginary abstracts with no relation to anything in reality are in fact real. It's like a religion. Government is a religion and you're suckered into it.
- Taors, on 11/14/2008, -1/+33This is just disgusting. 90 ***** days for not standing? If you've ever denied 'it' being about control, here's your proof.
- nealaus, on 11/14/2008, -2/+33It is sick and disgusting and shows the petty little tyrants (local, state, and fed governments) for who and what they are. The general population could care less because they all have a false hope for change that will never come so long as they stay where they are, static and complacent in their illusions.
- gsarnowski, on 11/14/2008, -2/+33Are there any protests being planned? I am in CT right now but would be willing to come up.
- chowda, on 11/14/2008, -2/+32what if your leg hurt? and does this arbitrary authority only apply to standing? if he asked me to do a cartwheel, would I have to do that as well?
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -1/+30How about being jailed for 2 days for not having ID with you?? It happened to me in NYC. The policeman couldn't even fill the forms and taking my fingerprints (they treated me like a criminal). He was so dumb, he was useless. I asked him what he can do. His answer: "I CAN LIVE PRETTY GOOD OUT OF YOUR TAXES". And a charming smile of course.
- Dalebert, on 11/15/2008, -1/+30I walked out of the courtroom when they announced we could be sanctioned for not standing for the judge. I wasn't prepared to be arrested today and I wasn't about to stand for that thug. Next time I'll be prepared to be arrested. I walked home with a heavy heart. I think you had to be there to feel the tension in the air. They were waiting for us. The new court rules were clearly targeted to arrest us. I was threatened in public by some baliff who said he'd seen me in court and was "looking forward to cuffing me himself". I had no idea what he was talking about but now I know. These people are petty tyrants. This is not something that can be hidden from for long. Obey with your tail between your legs right now if you like, but sooner or later, we have to stand up to them or this cancer of tyranny is going to grow. No violence. Simply disobey. They are the violent ones. We just have to wake people up to that fact.
- 00z003, on 11/15/2008, -1/+30Actual video of Ian being arrested.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlcT-3niVes - tracywood, on 11/15/2008, -1/+29Stupid judge. Guess he didn't realize the can of worms he just opened.
- libervisco, on 11/14/2008, -2/+29I will listen to tonight's Free Talk Live, which will be missing Ian (host of the show!) due to obvious circumstances ^. It will be interesting to hear reactions of listeners as Mark announces this news.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSgZBLWgGyY - coltsfan1518, on 11/15/2008, -1/+23***** the government. And ***** the statists for loving their slavery.
- slimat420, on 11/14/2008, -0/+21If there are demonstrations I am sure they will be posted on NHFree.com
- libervisco, on 11/14/2008, -0/+19How can you respect a "position"? That to me sounds like just another self-delusion, like the one saying government is here to protect and serve when it ALWAYS ends up doing the opposite.
Every person is an individual. Societies and communities cannot exist without an individual and therefore don't exist in and of themselves. Demanding therefore that an individual be sacrificed or give respect for this mystical concept is ludicrous, yet this craziness is what most people today accept as fact.
There is no spoon. There is no "position". There is no good government. There is no "common good". There is only the individual and his life, liberty and property violation of which is a direct violation of that individual's existence as a human being.
Nothing else matters. The judge nor a police officer deserve no more respect than a person giving (or not giving it) believes (s)he does and they shouldn't force people to provide such respect with punishment if they don't the way this case shows us. - rancemo, on 11/14/2008, -0/+19They put him in a separate room, with only a video feed to the public. Apparently, there was no audio and nobody really knows what happened during his "railroading".
- dagnome1984, on 11/15/2008, -2/+21The only idiot here is the one who supports institutionalized violence for victimless crimes. Way to lock up a real criminal that couch sure is hurting people.
- ornerycat, on 11/14/2008, -1/+19Standing for a judge out of fear of arrest is NOT showing respect. It's showing fear.
- StormCommander, on 11/15/2008, -1/+19title is inaccurate
he WAS standing
judge yelled at him to sit and had him arrested before he had time to think - inactive, on 11/15/2008, -1/+19It's time to not give validation to the system by not participating. How do you correct a lawless government? It's impossible when they follow no rules. What we can do is support each other regardless of the laws and be the free person we want to be. Ian rocks. Mark rocks. Julia rocks. Senior Grouchy Pants rocks.
- wishninja, on 11/15/2008, -1/+19You guys talking about moving are true patriots. Man that is really a good person that would go so far out of their way because they love their country.
- OnGard4Liberty, on 11/15/2008, -0/+17Proctor, how about you just remove the person who shouted it from your list instead of whining about spam? You can control it.
- AlexLibman, on 11/14/2008, -2/+19Where can I buy that on a t-shirt?
... or, better yet, a cattle branding iron the size of which is just right for an average government bureaucrat's hindquarters? - AlexLibman, on 11/14/2008, -0/+17The ease or difficulty of displaying one's allegiance to tyranny is not in question here, especially since most of the time the demanded action is mere inaction and silence.
- wtfk, on 11/15/2008, -1/+17Who are you, little man?
Little man in a dress?
Who told you, little man
To give free people stress? - waynetheman, on 11/15/2008, -1/+16Any homeless bums out there want free room and board for the rest of your life?
I'll personally pay you to move to NH and simply sit in court trials and REFUSE TO STAND FOR THE FASCIST JUDGES. Keep doing it every time they let you out of jail, and it's a free ticket back in! Sweet!
Time to start draining their coffers, methinks. - chowda, on 11/14/2008, -1/+16politeness (separate from basic decency) is voluntary... not something you should go to jail for omitting. We are not in the military.. and I find it offensive that I have to show mandated "respect" for a lawyer in a silly robe. Respect is earned, you're not appointed to it.
- AlexLibman, on 11/15/2008, -0/+15I only shouted once.
I don't know how you got on my Friends list, but you've been removed. - wishninja, on 11/15/2008, -1/+16Just looked on monster.com seems there might be a few jobs in the area. I'll have to start lobbying my wife about this. Looks like a nice place to move. I do production engineering work new projects robotic automation, welding, any places I should look at? I saw there is a Timkin plant.

This little clown's temper tantrum was precipitated by Ian's consistent refusal to play their silly little legal games.
- chowda, on 11/14/2008, -2/+15violence reduces us to their level.
- StormCommander, on 11/15/2008, -1/+14you can watch it for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlcT-3niVes
- lordmetroid, on 11/15/2008, -0/+13And who will be judging on this? The judge himself or one of his colleuges... It is useless, the government is a form of organized crime like the mafia except they got this huge propaganda machine and indoctrination camps aka. schools working for them.
- mmd643, on 11/15/2008, -0/+12That's exactly what I was thinking.
