First thing first. WHY the ***** would anyone bring a loaded weapon into a Children's Toy Store. (ok, Toy's R Us, has big boy toys sometimes). But the fact is, Children were present. Pulling a gun out in a room filled with Children says *****.
Thin out the HERD!. Because these two dumbasses had some sort of personal dispute that could NOT be resolved outside. I feel bad for the sap who now has to replace carpet(or clean the floor) in the store. - ElGanyan, on 11/29/2008, -0/+10I grew up in the area and had been to that store a few times myself in the past. Contrary to the MSNBC report, I'm more than willing to bet it's gang related. The report mentioned Hwy 111/Fred Waring area being affluent... ya it is, but there are a number of stores and shopping malls etc. in the area that people from all over the Coachella Valley go to. There are cities only 20 - 30 minutes away like Indio and Desert Hot Springs (former meth capital of Southern California, last time I was living in the valley) that are hot beds for latino gangs. If it wasn't direct gang confruntation then atleast the guys packing were gang members, no one else would be sick enough to go shopping at a Toys R Us while armed. ***** ridiculous.

It was NOT over any purchase - in fact witnesses say neither group even had any purchases in hand.
Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez said the fight was not over a toy. He said handguns were found by the men's bodies, but he released little other information. He would not answer a question about whether the shooting was gang-related.
Witnesses Scott and Joan Barrick said they were checking out of the store when the fight began between two women, each with a man.
