The women having one night stands slept with more guys, which seems like the commonsense answer. There are evidently more guys around willing to have 1-night stands then women.
To put it into concrete terms: Imagine 100 men and 100 women. 60 of the men had at least one 1-night stand, 54 of the women had at least one 1-night stand. If they were all evenly paired up that'd leave 6 guys left over. Now all it takes is one woman out of the 54 to finish them off and your stat adds up.

First of all, use your head.... %women does not have to equal %men:
#1: there are more woman in US than men,
#2: there are women who have one-night stand sex with multiple men (and vice versa). For example, let's say you have a group of 10 people (5 guys and 5 girls). If 1 one of those girls as a 1 night stand with all 5 guys it would mean 20% (1/5) of the girls had one night stands where 100% of guys had one night stands. You get my drift?
#3: Some men have 1 night stands with other men, while there are women that have one nights stands with women.
SO as you can see, you can't assume much with statistis... afterall...
