- SlamShut, on 10/11/2007, -5/+96Um... call me an idiot, but why is the second one funny?
- moofer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+54The tombstone in my uncle's backyard for his dearly departed jack russell terrier:
"here lies, all cold and hard, the last damned dog to ***** in this yard" - Eeqmcsq, on 10/11/2007, -2/+46I think the second one was meant to be this one:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/lonecellotheory/444308797/ - barthooper, on 10/11/2007, -2/+44I thought it was because of the beer bottle.
- idonthack, on 10/11/2007, -0/+37You can say that again.
- BlackCow, on 10/11/2007, -0/+36What about the tomb stone that reads, < / life>
- bullsfan03, on 10/11/2007, -2/+32Wheres "I told you I was sick!" at?
- newyawker, on 10/11/2007, -2/+31*****
- Ydnar24, on 10/11/2007, -3/+30Maybe they think it's funny that his wife isn't dead yet, but she already has a space on the tombstone? Isn't that common practice?
- ataylor32, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25There's an episode of Diggnation where Kevin and Alex say that Kevin Rose's tombstone should say "Buried" on it
- Area51mafia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22The reference is to the main disc images of Oregon Trail that are available online. The tombstone you come across says "Pepparony and chease.", since when you die the game asks you what you'd want on your tombstone. Oregon Trail saves the data directly on the floppy, so when somebody made the binaries, it stayed.
- jiminizer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+23how did you manage to spell both peperoni AND cheese incorrectly?
- ronaldinho, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21who the heck would have a last name of "Rape"? I would change it in a heartbeat. "Hi, my name is Rape. You?"
- jmpeagle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16the guy put the wrong picture on the main page. The ruddy one wasn't funny, he meant to put up the "I told you I was sick" one at place number 2 based on the sources links at the bottom.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Seeing as Digg gave me a double post, have a wikipedia entry on roundabouts
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roundabouts - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14I think the 3rd one implies the use of photoshop.
- trex279, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13ruddy: "So annoying or detestable as to deserve condemnation" A slang used by brits... It's an expletive
- Area51mafia, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16What do you want on your tombstone?:
"Pepparony and chease." - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Life's final blog
- PhoneGuy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Everytime I see a beer at a grave, I can't help but think of Strongbad.
- Hobofuzz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12The irony of the article's title is funnier than the actual article...
- kethraal, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12My tombstone shall read:
"[earth]$ rm -f /uk/k/kethraal" - Pilot85, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12I hope when I die my friends are good enough to bring me a good beer. Like a Guinness. Ooo! Or maybe a Strongbow.
- Todesengelvr6, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14How often do you see an un-opened beer bottle on a tombstone? jeeez
- prockcore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8My favorite was "You're standing on my balls"
- ThankTheCheese, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I loved the 'connection reset by peer' one.
Someone should do a blue screen of death version; or, for the mac user, a mechanical spinning beach ball ;) - sparkmonkeyz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I hope the guy with weed on his tombstone really got weed on his tombstone.
- jmpeagle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7no
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7My mom's says "To Be Continued"
She wrote that she wanted it that way in her journal because she's said death isn't the end but the beginning. - CompIsMyRx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Then sir, you have not truly lived.
- mrviznasty, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7i believe youre correct
- djbumunltd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6"Died Tragically Rescuing His Family From The Remains Of A Destroyed Sinking Battleship"
- godakame, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6The most amusing one I read about was Groucho Marx's tomestone which he wanted it to read: "excuse me, but I can't stand up."
- redwolf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Spike Milligan has that as an epitaph. The family were less than impressed at his choice and ended up using an Irish Gaelic version instead.
- miriclaire, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I've got a NEW one: "YOUR SESSION HAS EXPIRED"
- mistergosh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I do. I live in front of a graveyard and I often go there for a walk.
It's like a big park, the only difference is that most of the kids around are dead. - tehpwnrate, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5that is lolsome
- Protoss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Chops? Of the pork type I hope?
- rlbigfish, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6I still do :D
- zzz@tkz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4You've never stopped at a graveyard just to look around?
- tehpwnrate, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6So does the third one imply that the guy died of a real life virus, and he loved computers so much that his headstone was made to say that? Just checking.
- jblfireball, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Well said. I was going to type that exact same thing until I saw your post.
- scubasteve377, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Well played, sir.
- ewokdown, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5#4 definitely isn't a picture of an actual tombstone, it's from the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum in Niagara Falls, Canada.
- sanitysama, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/2809/hollergm5.jpg
- dodus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Apparently it's not that hard.
- acdcfanbill, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5http://www.waxy.org/random/images/weblog/Harv_Was_There.jpg
how did this one not make it :x - moofer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4(cue voice of Moe from the Simpsons)
"Hey... there's a guy on the phone looking for Rape?" - merreborn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It is common, absolutely. Walk around in any cemetery in the US and you'll probably see dozens of these, if not more.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I think it's just not particularly funny. What *was* funny, in a very dark way, was something I saw last winter. A guy had been killed driving drunk, okay? So there was a roadside memorial for him. Standard practice. But when I happened by it, there were 6 empty beer bottles people had discarded in the vicinity, but so close they obviously meant them to be near the marker. It seemed like the equivalent of shooting the grave of a gunshot victim.
