One of the most engaging, immersive gaming experiences I've ever had. I think only Half Life 2 has made me feel as much a part of a game's world as Ocarina did.
- Seanathan, on 07/14/2008, -1/+153Hey! Listen!
- mnortei, on 07/13/2008, -5/+147I'm not a fan of the cell-shading cartoon look either, the high res textures look great, however. Best game ever.
- CodeBlack08, on 07/13/2008, -6/+119It looks pretty nice updated like that. I definitely wouldn't mind playing OoT in high-res after seeing that.
I must say, though, cell-shading really doesn't work for the old girl. Let's not do keep those textures around. - digifreak642, on 07/14/2008, -0/+104The best part of this: I don't have to hear Navi yell at me.

Relevant to previous comment. haha - inactive, on 07/14/2008, -0/+45Best game ever.
- Sal4, on 07/14/2008, -15/+60To all the people who want a remake: are we forgetting it'd be for the Wii, which is basically a souped up Gamecube? A remake would be awesome but let's at least wait until Nintendo goes HD first...
- LR2_, on 07/14/2008, -1/+45/sorry for hijack

- aabernathy, on 07/14/2008, -0/+41Yeah it would be bad if it were advocating anything having to do with a sick bird
- langdonalger, on 07/14/2008, -1/+40Too soon!
- inactive, on 07/14/2008, -5/+42Man this went down faster than the hindenburg.
:D - hexydes, on 07/14/2008, -1/+38While it obviously looks much better than the original, the geometry is still very behind. If Nintendo ever did this, as long as they would have to take the time to do the textures, they might as well update the models too. In fact, I would love to see a modern take on all of the classic Zelda games. I'd definitely pay for that.
- aabernathy, on 07/14/2008, -5/+39I think I had my first wet dream about Zelda....
- Zalyster, on 07/13/2008, -2/+34No, it's for a hi-res/cel shaded texture pack plugin for an N64 emulator.
- etgoboom, on 07/14/2008, -1/+32hi-res is nice, but i think the original is still better, definatly in the last few. That could just be nostalgia talking though.

http://animepodcast.org/d/zelda/index.html - Carrot1991, on 07/14/2008, -1/+25I wonder if this game will ever be re-made. It would certainly sell well however it could (potentially) take away some of the games charm.
Although thinking back, I wouldn't say no to wandering around graphically gorgeous remakes of great locations such as the Ice Caverns, Lake Hylia, The Forest Temple, The Gerudo desert and many more. It would certainly bring some nostalgia =) - Kragnerac, on 07/14/2008, -0/+22Watch out!
- yurimxpxman, on 07/14/2008, -3/+25I really like the cel-shaded version. It's easy on the eyes, and it looks very pleasant. It seems to fit the game more than the high-res stuff.
- Brad324, on 07/14/2008, -2/+24mirror?
- Zalyster, on 07/13/2008, -2/+24Looks great! If only they could bump up the character models too. :)
- MrFurious2k, on 07/14/2008, -10/+30Am I the only one that still thinks this looks like ass? I mean, I love the series but still, graphics aren't the reason to play it.
- LR2_, on 07/14/2008, -0/+20^^ Note: Do not refresh the page, the swf file is pretty large, it will load eventually.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7tleFb6TlI - cyrix, on 07/14/2008, -2/+20Please, when this game came out you were probably rambling on about how awesome and great it looked compared to the previous generation of games.
Christ has technology made many of us spoiled. - robruiz, on 07/14/2008, -2/+20They used the same plants. :(
- cyrix, on 07/14/2008, -2/+20It doesn't work. That's why they dugg you down.
- scy1192, on 07/14/2008, -3/+20yay I was dugg down for providing a mirror!
- Narcowski, on 07/14/2008, -1/+17Graphics < Gameplay. That said, I don't want a remake, I want a new Zelda with some actual difficulty. Twilight Princess was a cakewalk.
- fenderjazz, on 07/14/2008, -0/+16I'll never forget the sense of pure awe that first time I stepped into a 3D Hyrule Field. No other game has ever instilled that same magical feeling in me. They just got it right for that game, and I don't think anyone will eveer be able to repeat it.
Even all of these years later, I still know that map like the back of my hand. - dagamer34, on 07/14/2008, -1/+17You mean like... The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass?
- TBBucs, on 07/14/2008, -2/+18Yes. It's still kind of a secret, though, so let's just keep this between you and the rest of Digg.
- ZincSaucier, on 07/14/2008, -0/+16wow i love that song. it takes me back to my younger days
- Cyber_Akuma, on 07/14/2008, -1/+16Its impresssive, without a doubt, problem is the majority of the game is actually not finished.
I have not seen a single texture pack that replaces even 25% of the walls and floors in a game (please prove me wrong, I would love to find a complete pack).
Another interesting use of these is alternate textures instead of high-res textures. There is a high-res texture pack for Super Mario 64, but I have also seen alternate packs that try to replicate the oook of the NES one, paper mario, cell-shading, and other art styles.
Problem is many of these are just not finished.
The emulator is also extremely picky, you need the exact same region and even revision of the rom or half to all of them wont load. - powlol, on 07/14/2008, -2/+17Words cannot describe my love of this game. Its amazing how well it holds up too even w/o those high res textures. That said though they do look beautiful

Credit to LR2_ in reply to the first comment. - AndrewWiggin, on 07/14/2008, -0/+15Not sure why I clicked it but I am glad I did.
- cakerun, on 07/14/2008, -1/+15I would pay 50-60 USD for a new OoT in a second.
