- chaosblade77, on 07/01/2008, -0/+0I honestly can't see the iPhone being a "legitimate contender" in the handheld gaming market. There will probably be some more complex games for it (beyond snake and other simple phone games) including some exclusives, but considering Nintendo (and likely Sony) will be ready to push a new handheld in the near future the iPhone will probably be left in the dust.
On top of that, Nintendo refuses to even add DVD support to it's consoles. The Wii already uses a DVD drive and can read DVDs with homebrew, it was a conscious decision to not allow normal DVD playback on the DVD drive. I can't see them attempting to penetrate such a "distant" market when they don't even enter one that's right on the doorstep.
