- rjejr, on 05/07/2008, -3/+24I have to say the blue light meaning something other than a new Mii contest was a pleasant surprise this morning. Probably the best "Blue light experience" I've had since owning the Wii. If I actually had a DS to make use of the demos it'd be great. (Which is why I canceled my Nintendo Power subscription, too DS heavy)
- Murfshay22, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2It's nice to see that this could be something useful, but it would be even better to be able to set a time when the wii could glow or have it email you instead. I still want to know when theres an update or I receive a message from someone... but not at 4am. It's not exactly comforting to wake up that early in the morning to see a light glowing from the living room to the bedroom.
- RedS0x, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4That sliver of light wakes you up?! Man, it's hard for my buzzing alarm clock to wake me up sometimes.
- Murfshay22, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Sad thing is... I'm the same way with my alarm clock. Never wakes me up.
When I had the wii in my room, it was horrible... now its in the next room over, but still gets me.
- Murfshay22, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Sad thing is... I'm the same way with my alarm clock. Never wakes me up.
- krd1979, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2If I remember correctly the brightness of the blue light is adjustable in the Wii options menu, you might want to check that out.
- RedS0x, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4That sliver of light wakes you up?! Man, it's hard for my buzzing alarm clock to wake me up sometimes.
- themastersb, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Too be honest I didn't really care about finding this in the morning. To me I'd rather have something useful rather than a bunch of gameplay videos.

- haxr, on 05/07/2008, -5/+3Finally, information harvesting on a console! :D At least it's fun.
- Wiinii, on 05/07/2008, -15/+4They should have called it the "Nintendo SPAM Channel", or "Nintendo Spyware Channel".
"The main goal of the Nintendo Channel is to provide information on Nintendo and 3rd-party goods and services "
"To receive this service you must agree to allow Nintendo to collect nonidentifiable info from your console, such as the games you play and the time you play them"
Opt Out, I Disagree.- lordmetroid, on 05/07/2008, -9/+1I don't allow my Nintendo Hardware to reach the internet for this reason...
- TehProphet, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Whats wrong with that? The information is used so that Nintendo can get a better idea of what the gamers want, and to help categorize games so that people can find other games that interest them based on age, sex, hardcore/casual, etc. It also offers more than just advertising, you can play DS demos, and the whole thing is free, so quit your bitching.
- Wiinii, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1a) They don't give a ***** about core gamers.
b) that's called spyware.- TehProphet, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3It's not spyware when you have to install it yourself, and you are plainly told what it's purpose is AND you have to option to opt out of it.
- dustinjr1993, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1noone is forcing you to download it! im gonna respect your opinion and idc. if its from nintendo i can trust it
- Wiinii, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1a) They don't give a ***** about core gamers.
- Stunn, on 05/07/2008, -1/+25The DS demos are cool, everything else I can use the internet for.
- chrisinsocalif, on 05/07/2008, -3/+25I am wasting most my time playing Mario Kart online and getting really frustrated when i get hit by a blue shell right before the finish line and see all the other drivers pass me. GREAT GAME!
- slapded, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1im trying to get the world record in luigi circuit. it will never happen.
- Snuff99, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Race in 2nd place until it's time to strike...
- Startemus, on 05/07/2008, -1/+11At this point, anytime the Blue Light flashes I'm happy.
- KaiUno, on 05/08/2008, -1/+7Their plan for world domination is coming together beautifully. Fase one, blue light brainwashing, complete.
- xtreme777, on 05/08/2008, -0/+11Phase two, make people think phase is spelled "fase."
- counterplex, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1At least people are out of the "faze" phase.
- crossmr, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1we could spell it in korean: 배즈

- Philbert, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1I'll have to check my Wii. I don't have any blue light flash. Hmm...

- OfNumbers, on 05/07/2008, -1/+18I didn't realize this was difficult enough to require a walk through.
- VictorH, on 05/07/2008, -10/+2"I am wasting most my time playing Mario Kart online"
Some of the classics are available for free online, like the acclaimed SuperMario 3 : see http://www.software4free.org/games.html.
[This page on Software4free.org has a Hall of Fame of free games] - InuX, on 05/07/2008, -1/+6Curses!!! I sent my Wii in for repair (Nintendo has superb customer service btw) :'(
- Mitchellkohl, on 05/07/2008, -9/+3waste of time
- BestJaxx, on 05/08/2008, -9/+4I guess this is good for people who actually use their Wii, but there are a bunch of people that bought the Wii who won't get this for a few months simply because they aren't bored enough to turn the console on. Don't get me wrong, but Mario Kart just isn't the same as GTA or Call of Duty.
- WhoDoneIt, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5Damn.. all this time I was thinking to myself while playing Mario Kart, how come I can't shoot people in the face and ***** prostitutes. You mean they aren't the same game? I feel so stupid now.
- BestJaxx, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1At least form what I have seen, people who have played games all their life aren't amused by the majority of the games on the Wii.

- Mackofalltrades, on 05/08/2008, -3/+8Heard about this morning. Got excited and Downloaded. 15 minutes later... Pure dissapointment.
- frozenelf, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4I know, right? Not being able to pause the video to wait for it to completely load (broadband is crappy in my country) is ridiculous. I have to wait for it to buffer for two minutes for every six seconds of content. Great idea Nintendo, but going back to 1999 RealPlayer-buffering isn't much fun.
- TehProphet, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1runs perfectly for me with broadband. you must have really low end internet, which is not Nintendo's fault at all. That or you have your router to far away or not configured correctly.
- frozenelf, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Low end doesn't even begin to describe it. Yeah, I guess it isn't Nintendo's fault but it would have been great to have had the option to have the video download completely while paused like other video sites.

- VinnieDaMac, on 05/08/2008, -2/+4Looks stupid, but at least it's free so it can't hurt to download it anyway.
- nydwarf, on 05/08/2008, -2/+14What a dreadfully boring video.
- abortionsforall, on 05/08/2008, -5/+5The blue light pulsing woke me up this morning. I expected something stupid and I was correct. I didn't even bother to download it. Once I saw description I just rolled my eyes. There has not been an update yet that I found worthwhile.
- zointax, on 05/08/2008, -2/+4For those of you who might complain about the anonymous data-collection, tip: you can disable it (choose "I Disagree" at the start or change it later in the options) and everything else still works. It's all optional.
- airwalkery2k, on 05/08/2008, -3/+6This has to be one of the best updates I've seen in a while. The video part is alright, but what really got me excited was the DS demo downloader. That will be my favorite channel if they can keep pushing out new demos for top tier games.
- Lososaurus, on 05/08/2008, -0/+14This is really what the shop channel should have been in the first place.
- tyroney, on 05/08/2008, -2/+6dumb light woke me up at 3 am.
buried for inane cameraman chatter. - Dan11023, on 05/08/2008, -14/+3CMON now the wii?
come on, you know that controller looks like a dilllldo
I aint gonna play my games, with no dillllldo- KaiUno, on 05/08/2008, -0/+8Not those kinds of games anyway. On another note, your bum's got a square hole has it?
- Dan11023, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Super Smash Brothers.....
The only ballin thing about that game, is that mushroom dude........
and u cant even eat that bitch - Shaflugi, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Apparently nobody gets that he's referencing chad warden from Youtube. Oh well.
- Dan11023, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I poop ice blocks
- Dan11023, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Super Smash Brothers.....

- KaiUno, on 05/08/2008, -0/+8Not those kinds of games anyway. On another note, your bum's got a square hole has it?
- Awspire, on 05/08/2008, -7/+2I love the part where he mentions "what the Japanese have been enjoying all this time". Ya, what, that looks like the most useless channel yet. I could do more with a modified Xbox than a friggin Wii. Nintendo has become toddlers entertainment. They should partner with Mattel.
- macweirdo42, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3Yeah, damn Nintendo for forcing you to buy a Wii rather than getting an Xbox and modding it like you wanted!
- qwertyuio, on 05/08/2008, -0/+725. Male. Alone. How depressing...
- ibone, on 05/08/2008, -3/+2Wow, the Nintendo channel seems really boring.
- macweirdo42, on 05/08/2008, -4/+2*shrug* I still don't understand the people who bitch about Nintendo. I just... don't see the purpose it serves. I mean, I don't like spinach, but you don't see me going around bitching about how "spinach is a food for people with no taste buds" or whatever.
- samfishercell, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2I already downloaded and tested a slew of demos (in classic style Team Ninja delivered an awesome little demo, and allowed you to replay it at a higher difficulty upon beating the boss....Disney forced you to quit after walking you through the tutorial).
However, the Nintendo channel is straight up embarrassing. Has anyone tried to the "recommend a game" feature yet? It's nothing more than a veiled attempt to do free market research for Nintendo. The survey options were horribly stiff as well. The bipolar choice between "casual" and "hardcore" made me cringe a bit as well as I fear Nintendo will use that as leverage for more watered down "casual games" in the future.
Freaking give me 10 points a survery - I would gladly fill out 60 of them to score an SNES game from the Virtual Console.
Also - the lack of Wii demos just plain sucks. I would love to try out Boom Blox and others...thanks for staying behind the times Nintendo.- SaintStryfe, on 05/08/2008, -3/+1ya know, not everything is perfect on the first run. Wii demos would be big. DS demos, relatively small. And with only 512 onboard memory, and a large segment of people who may not understand SD cards, why confuse the subject right now?
Nintendo works in evolution - it makes things better over time. Unlike microsoft and sony, who release crap and let it lie.

- petecampbell, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Europe, you there?
- psyonide, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1I, for one, am excited to now have what essentially amounts to a DS Download Station in my bedroom. No commuting to the local Gamestop to play a demo, just park my lazy ass in the general vicinity of the Wii and download away. I really don't get what some people are complaining about (but, then again, this wouldn't be the internet if people didn't bitch, even if their bitching is about a company giving them free stuff).
- Snuff99, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1I'll probably buy Ninja Gaiden now...the demo won me over. The channel has served it's purpose, Nintendo knows exactly what they're doing.
- Jelga, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0Agreed, I thought Ninja Gaiden didn't look that great for the DS, but it really surprised me, I'm really considering this title now. Man, I almost sound like a tool...
- dustinjr1993, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1does this thing buffer much? well im most excited about the crappy free DS demos, gives me a reason to dust off all the cobwebs on it XD ill watch some trailers if i know nothing about it
