omgnintendo.com — Some characters work, and some don't. When a character that doesn't work keeps hanging around a story, and especially a video game, you have a recipe for frustration. Game characters can go bad in a lot of ways, ranging from poorly balanced enemies to flat-out irritating concepts. Here's a rogue's gallery of the eight worst, most annoying game char

    I thought he was pretty ***** awesome. I mean in his introductory scene he made master hand his bitch. I knew he was a badass from that moment on.
    • chaosblade77, on 08/07/2008, -2/+5All of Brawls single player was a disappoint because I felt like the story-telling was really weak. It did have a basic plot, and it could be deeper than what's implied, but on the surface it really does seem too "mish-mashed" and thrown together.

      Tabuu is no exception, you learn nothing about his character outside of the vague details on his two trophies and the boss fight was pretty lame compared to some of the others (especially Meta Ridley). You have no idea what his intentions are... he could have been an interesting character (heck, the whole mode could have been better) with more depth in the story.

      All that aside, the song that plays when you fight him is awesome.

It was the same ***** set of stages and platforms copy/pasted for ETERNITY. Sure it's broken up every now and then with a different type of stage, or a new and improved platform, but come on... I tossed the controller aside just before Tabuu; I usually like to finish games but I just couldn't slog through it anymore. ***** you Nintendo, with the poor online network and immense amounts of lag you've thrown at me this game only gets taken out when friends are over and we're sick of CoD4.

      Hell, it would have made even more sense to have Sonic as the end boss. Seeing as how he would be trying to destroy the world of Nintendo characters.

    I'm going to assume that this guy is not a big brawl enthusiast. I don't know how anyone could possibly get through this game without using the dodge move.

        I might have allowed it if all of the characters were from NES games since alot of people just call that system the "Nintendo". However it had Shadow the Hedgehog, who was a character made by Sega, who appeared on the GameCube, Playstation 2, AND Xbox.

        This author is a complete idiot.

Did he never figure out that all you have to do is drop the key (not throw it) and Phanto will leave until after you pick it up and start moving again? All you need is patience, you don't have to try to kill Phanto or throw your key away recklessly. He's right on the money about the FleaMen and the birds, though.

    Tom is an ass, Navi is annoying, those flea men suck, and the others are pointless, but the Yellow Devil really hits home for worst boss ever.

If you killed Phanto but lost your key in the process, then screw you-- go back and get it again, complete with another Phanto on your ass. In some levels, this could become a never-ending cycle of suffering."

    Yeah...if you suck! Messing up once or twice is one thing, but it's not THAT hard to get to the lock, even in the later levels. You just throw the key on the ground, wait for phanto to leave then pick it up again. Repeat when he reappears. All you have to do is make sure it doesn't fall down a pit.
