I remember Sakurai stating in an interview that all characters with transformations(Zelda/Sheik, Samus/Zero-Suit Samus) would become separate characters. We've already seen an example of this with Zero-Suit Samus and Power Suit Samus. He also said characters that were "duplicates"(Captain Falcon/Ganon) would also become unique characters all on their own.

Maybe a bit more personality though, since she didn't really have any more facial expressions than Steven Seagal in her last game. I was kind of surprised by how much of her back is showing in the picture with Pit though. Guess it might've been like that in TP, but you just didn't see her back all that clearly.
Sheik is probably out, but they'll probably replace him/her with either a new move or Midna. They are in game shots, they have to be or they have done some serious work to create the simulation of gameplay in a 3d rendering suite. In some aspects I think things will get toned down a bit as they get near completion, it's one thing to have Link's triforce smash look cool (and great to put up on a website and get more hype) but in practice if it drops framerate to 3-5 FPS, it's unusable. If they have to drop some polys here and there or "optimize" this or that, it will have an effect on what is seen in the final version.

There's certain updates to the site that deserve to be dugg, and certain updates that can be ignored. Show me some of the characters that werent seen in a SSB game before, 1st or 3rd party.

I'd say Sheik and Dr. Mario are the best characters in the game, but Sheik is only good if you're capable of controlling him(her?). Most people aren't, and I know I guy who could easily be top 10 in the world for Smash. Sheik is my go-to character, but I have no chance of using her as effectively as she can be used, and my buddy even admits that he feels like he doesn't use her as she should be used. I think Sheik scales to the player's reflexes, and that's it. Not so much broken as only good if the player is talented in the first place.
