- Cubedude04, on 01/07/2008, -3/+99Man those look awesome. If only they were big enough for a wallpaper.
- Nobi-Wan, on 01/07/2008, -2/+85Sorry for the double post but here's his Flickr page for all your wallpaper needs.

- DeviantDragon, on 01/07/2008, -4/+56Wow, one of the better photo submissions I've seen on Digg.
- bjs3171, on 01/07/2008, -3/+43aw...the Little Prince found a girlfriend.
- MiamiGuy, on 01/07/2008, -1/+40Actually there's two links to tutorials:

- cracker42, on 01/07/2008, -3/+29Grrrr... I submitted these photos a month ago and only got 8 diggs. Now I see why people use sensational, uninformative headlines and descriptions :-/

- rnelsonee, on 01/07/2008, -1/+17Cool. I just made my first 'planet' this weekend and it was pretty easy. There's an amazing program called Autostitch which automatically makes a panorama for you with no user input required - you just throw a bunch of your pictures at it and it'll put them all together (although you can change things, like output quality). Once you have that picture, you just convert rectangular -> polar in Photoshop/Gimp and you're done.
My first try at a planet, with some obvious Photoshopping for color saturation:

Either that, or a lesson as to why you shouldn't use the word "Wee". - proseandpromise, on 01/07/2008, -1/+13Those kind of made me dizzy.
- zengonzo, on 01/07/2008, -4/+16I'd assumed he meant actually create one using the same method.
- ncapone, on 01/07/2008, -1/+13Kind of remind me of the cover to the Yes album "Fragile."
- triskele, on 01/07/2008, -3/+15My good English vocabulary isn't enough to tell how awesome these are.
- MacEnvy, on 01/07/2008, -1/+12Elle est une rose, je suppose.

- badjoke, on 01/07/2008, -8/+18Stretching the image doesn't really compare with having a larger version.
- play150, on 01/07/2008, -0/+8The sixth picture looks like the eye in Lord of the Rings.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7Editing comments kills urls.

Please, think of the urls. - FredFredrickson, on 01/07/2008, -0/+6Sure, if you completely ignore all the other games before Ratchet and Clank that also had spherical worlds... Sonic 3 anyone?
- RandomTaskMan, on 01/07/2008, -0/+6because people are comparing them to the planets in Super Mario Galaxy
THATS why. - forzaruler, on 01/07/2008, -3/+9I was going to hunt you down and gut you for the whole double-post thing, but since you found his flickr profile, I'll let this one slide.
- reazal, on 01/07/2008, -5/+10The title is misleading and to put this into the gaming section is far more misleading. Cool pictures though!
- rnelsonee, on 01/08/2008, -0/+5Since you asked - I made one of my den: http://www.terrapintables.com/graphics/interior.jp ...
- Nossie, on 01/07/2008, -0/+5mind trying that again :) ?
- heypetray, on 01/07/2008, -1/+6...Now I HAVE to bury you.
- TastyLamp, on 01/07/2008, -5/+10Man these are trippy.
- merreborn, on 01/07/2008, -0/+5Digg breaks all your links when you edit the comment containing them.
Please, FFS, fix this crap. - BestJaxx, on 01/07/2008, -0/+4It's a small world after all.
- cracker42, on 01/07/2008, -0/+4Actually, I called them "Planets" because that's what the original artist called them on Flickr:
http://digg.com/arts_culture/Wee_Planets_A_Photose ... - nazsco, on 01/07/2008, -1/+5http://www.flickr.com/photos/gadl/sets/72157594279 ...
from the author himself. - Cupantae, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4It's good; it's just misleading
- oirvine, on 01/08/2008, -2/+5He never said anything about his grammar or spelling.
- dimplemonkey, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4D'oh! Loved the 404 that showed up!
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4No pipes?
- lime148, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3Halo invented planets, actually.
- macbookpromat, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3You can thank the polar coordinates effect for that...
- stopbrorape, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3I think they look great. I was expecting some douche in a Mario outfit when i clicked on the story.
- cawfee, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4That's really neat for a first try :D might have to give that a shot later on.
- antitomato, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4You rock MiamiGuy
- catastrophee, on 01/07/2008, -1/+3http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/48/Frag ... I would agree.
- guybrush3000, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2I'd guess he either used some sort of extreme fisheye (practically spherical) attachment and aimed the camera down at the ground or perhaps he photographed a 360 degree panorama and then had them stitched together in a manner where the two ends would meet, thus creating a circle. I had done this once using the latter method, but just as a little experiment. I'm entirely jealous of what beautiful results this photographer came up with by reallying running with the idea.
- DrakeGTA, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2Inconceivable!
- rediculous, on 01/07/2008, -1/+3I have never seen a giant 404 Not Found in real life...so i don't know where it was taken.
- jake6730, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2I have never actually played this game, I have seen my brother play it. But that aside, it looks like a sweet game, and I never play video games. You are just going to have to realize that video games are becoming a lot more mainstream, so get used to it.
- RandomTaskMan, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2Still?
It just came out a few months ago.... - aussia, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2I'd buy a calendar of those... they're fantastic!
