- Brad324, on 02/07/2008, -2/+100Dear Nintendo: more than 4 battle arenas. Thanks in advance, Brad324.
- KnockoutNerd, on 02/07/2008, -3/+68Yeah with he exception of course being there are not 2 characters on one kart and you can drive motorcycles.
Brawl looks a lot better then Melee, Super Mario Galaxy looks better then Sunshine.Face the fact that they are 2 different consoles already. - paintpro, on 02/07/2008, -0/+64With this and SSBB coming, Nintendo is going to have to get ready for some serious online play. Hope the servers are ready.

- send and receive time attack scores online, online ranking for time attack as well
- upload/download Ghosts" - hoffey, on 02/07/2008, -0/+53But will there be Rainbow Road?
- cbrunet, on 02/07/2008, -3/+35Can't wait. Mario Kart has always been a staple in my gaming library, and this will be no different. But for the complaint that its like Double Dash!!, well, what exactly was wrong with DD!!? It was still a very fun game with some great mechanics. They're obviously going to tweak it per what customers enjoyed/didn't enjoy, and it will more than likely match the DS iteration anyways, how could you go wrong with that?
- cbrunet, on 02/07/2008, -0/+26How can a game be overrated if everyone hated it? I liked the double racers on the cart. It gave the game more depth cause you had the ability to stockpile items on the fly. But yes, MK64 is definitely a much better game, and a return to that stature will be greatly appreciated. I just don't understand the hate on DD.
- swaggadocio, on 08/20/2008, -3/+26Where do I sign up?
- chris4404, on 02/07/2008, -2/+21Yeah its a series, you know they take what made the previous one great and build on it.
- saltinekracka20, on 02/07/2008, -2/+21Do want.
- DustSluggy, on 02/07/2008, -1/+20Well if you imported it, of course it's quite laggy....you're connecting to Japanese people.
But if you're in Japan, my mistake, ignore me. - DeviantDragon, on 02/07/2008, -3/+19Donut in the 64 one rocked.
- R3Dirkulous, on 02/07/2008, -2/+18come on mywhitenoise, come to our side(the nintendo side), it's fun. :)
also, you left out more characters, more stages and new style of story mode...anddddd most importantly online mode. But I guess you might have been referring to the multiplayer only torrent. I'm sure a dual layer rip will come soon, but please buy it when it comes out! - richman241, on 02/07/2008, -0/+15Wheres Rainbow Road?
- meatstick, on 02/07/2008, -0/+13i hope the give you the option of using a gamecube controller like in SSBB,for some games a normal control just works better :)
- doshindude, on 02/07/2008, -0/+12damn.
- iofthestorm, on 02/07/2008, -0/+11Everything in 64 rocked, and while the battle stages in DD and especially DS were nice, nothing beats the classics, which is probably why they brought back block fort in DS. Mario Kart DS is like the definitive version of Mario Kart, at least until the Wii version comes out. Hopefully they will pay the same attention to detail that they had for Brawl and add tons of battle arenas and maybe even through in a stage maker. Hey, I can dream.
- sleeknerve, on 02/07/2008, -0/+10how was it any more kiddie than the N64 version
- mike11stevens, on 02/07/2008, -0/+10Boo Wario, Hooray Beer!
- plokij909, on 02/07/2008, -0/+10Hopefully they'll also release Mario Kart (SNES) for the Virtual Console around the same time...
- BlueSkyfish, on 02/07/2008, -1/+10http://www.nintendo.co.jp/jobs/arbeit/index.html
(You have to live in Japan) - GeneralFailure0, on 02/07/2008, -0/+9Yes, I too feel I need a more mature, grittier Yoshi-on-a-go-cart experience.
- appleseed1234, on 02/07/2008, -6/+15I will not buy this game if there is no Ronpaul Road
- iofthestorm, on 02/07/2008, -1/+9People just like to call everything on the Gamecube kiddy, because they are retarded. Double Dash rocked, although imo DS was the best Mario Kart ever.
- Dan137exe, on 02/07/2008, -6/+13I can't wait for Mario Kart Wii. I was really into Mario Kart DS when it came out. I don't mean to brag, but I was one of the guys on the Nintendo NSider forums that popularized the idea of dodging blue shells as seen on Digg here:
http://tinyurl.com/yvkyk2
The Digg link doesn't work anymore because Nintendo of America thought it'd be cool and snub their hardcore fans and delete the forum indefinitely. So for those interested, here's a picture of the tutorial and one of the videos:
http://tinyurl.com/yv5f5z
http://tinyurl.com/27tdrt
I think that blue shell dodging in Mario Kart DS was more of an exploit than any sort of legitimate technique. I guess beta-testers are paid to work out the kinks much like that one. - iofthestorm, on 02/07/2008, -0/+7Rainbow Road is always a new track in the last cup.
- iofthestorm, on 02/07/2008, -0/+7That would be amazing; the only drawback would be the length of doing one cup.
- LupeFiasco, on 02/07/2008, -1/+7Mario Kart DD with 3 other good players is probably one of the best party games I have ever played.
- TheKingInYellow, on 02/07/2008, -1/+7i loved double dash. i don't know what you're talking about but the two players on one kart and powersliding makes it more fun. like cbrunet says, stockpile items. if you have a good combo on a kart you can seriously mess the other players like mad. as for powersliding, you can navigate through many parts of some levels using nothing but a slide (eg: bowser's fortress) and make tremendous headway by doing so.
- Dgen_X, on 02/07/2008, -1/+6I'd like a rainbow road cup...with every rainbow road track to date
that would be fantastic! (as long as the MK64 RR shortcut is still there) - armo, on 02/07/2008, -1/+6Powersliding was not new in DD.
- macatizor, on 02/07/2008, -1/+6"The company would also take care of all travel expenses"
Free trip to Japan, anyone? :D - emjaymj, on 02/07/2008, -2/+7Good, I hope it's the same as Melee. Why fix what isn't broken? The game was damn near perfect!
- Klarth, on 02/07/2008, -0/+4A new move, huh?
- carbon12, on 02/07/2008, -1/+5link: http://gonintendo.com/?p=35037#comments
- tidu, on 02/07/2008, -1/+5don't worry, you got more than a chuckle out of me. ;)
- iofthestorm, on 02/07/2008, -0/+4There's always a Rainbow Road, and it's always different, and always kick ass.
It'd be nice to have an archive of all the Rainbow Roads in this one though, that would be amazing but doesn't sound likely. - Frostman3D, on 02/07/2008, -1/+5I'm really looking forward to Mario Kart Wii. It's a must have title for me. Mario Kart for the Cube was awesome, and this looks like it'll be much, much better. and the online play makes it even better. Not to mention the inclusion of mini-bikes.
Can't wait. - petard, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3Like all the normal non gimmicky games? I would have rather played Zelda with a gamecube controller, but if I got the gamecube version I would have no wide screen.
- solid12345, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3Will there be a "2 Princesses, 1 Mushroom Cup" mode?
- Ndiggnation, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3If any of the previous generation consoles are powerful enough to host games, and they are, I would assume the Wii is too. Hell, even with some PSP games you can host matches..
- allahuakbar, on 02/07/2008, -0/+32 Marios 1 cup? Plz?
- Sairgem, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3Snaking ruined MKDS' online mode. It turned a fun party game into a competitive piece of ***** that gave me blisters on my thumb.
- tidu, on 02/07/2008, -1/+4I'd have to disagree with you there.. it was way too big, even for four people. 12 person battle? That'd be spectacular, though
- Smwbigboss, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3I remember the first day Mario Kart DS came out, their servers were completely crashed.
- Link459, on 02/07/2008, -1/+3Here's to hoping the beta gets dumped online.
- eatsleeptrumpet, on 02/07/2008, -0/+2And you think there will never be a Halo 4, Call of Duty 5, Quake 5, Guitar Hero IV, Bioshock 2? How about companies like Apple who release a new version of their iPods and Macs at least once a year? What about cars? I was so disappointed when I bought my 1995 Honda Civic to find out that Honda has been releasing new models of the EXACT SAME CAR every year since then - the nerve!
Arooga, Nintendo has many great original franchises - in fact, you named the best of them in your post. But whether we're talking about games, iPods, cars, movies, ANYTHING... the point is that we live for updates. We want a fresh version of whatever it is we're used to, and Nintendo has so far done a great job (minus Mario and Sonic Olympic Games...) bringing us fresh renditions of their games. Have you actually ever PLAYED Galaxy, Strikers, Metroid Prime or Twilight Princess? These are INCREDIBLE games dripping with originality! Also, plenty of games with original characters have come/are coming for Wii - No More Heroes anybody?
Nintendo is doing a great job, and as you can see from my above post, I have no problem coming up with many reasons to buy a Wii.
Comment buried. - allahuakbar, on 02/07/2008, -0/+2Dan I wouldn't brag about that buddy; you sound like a loser.
- grumbel, on 02/07/2008, -0/+2There is nothing wrong with another Mario title, but there is a lot wrong with not having anything else.
For the record Gears of War, Dead Rising. Mass Effect, Bioshock and some more were all new. - harrison5394, on 02/07/2008, -3/+5you're gay.
