- Rowan187, on 10/22/2007, -1/+115Ah very nice, FINALLY USB Keyboard support. Maybe I'll use the internet channel more now!
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+54To get the new browser features you have to go to the wii shop and update the browser(same goes for everbody votes). Doesn't anyone read the messages Nintendo sends them?
- Ignitedude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+48Am I the only one who was fairly surprised that the channels didn't update themselves once you've done a system update, rather than having to update the channels manually?
- plizard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+43apparently you don't live in the same time zone as nintendo of japan
- wiggles, on 10/11/2007, -4/+44I know some doctors who, after some hormone treatments and visits with a psychologist, can give you the hook up.
- reconflux, on 10/13/2007, -0/+32Yeah, I sleep with my Wii too. It keeps me warm when that Blue light turns on.
- mym6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31It seems nobody else read the new agreement. There is new language in there that seemed to indicate expanded online services. The language leads me to believe there will be some sort of real time chat ability.
- Exhaust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27Uh oh... All the bad people out there in intertube land will say naughty things to all the kiddies!!! What will we do?!?!
It'll never happen without having to enter a friend code, provide a DNA sample and get written permission from everyones parent. - liwii, on 10/11/2007, -4/+30USB Keyboard support is a welcome addition. It has been almost a year, what took so long? Open up the Internet Channel and enter http://MapWii.com and share your Wii Number and Friend Codes.
- imamessy1, on 10/11/2007, -7/+32Why do the updates always come at 3 in the morning? That flashing blue light always manages to wake me up.
- Azuroth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26USB Keyboards worked everywhere EXCEPT the internet channel. Now they work there too.
- ThndrShk2k, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23The E-Mail Nintendo sends you tells you that.
How much ***** clearer do you need? A reinactment of the "Wii would like to play" commercial, but with "Wii would like to update your Firmware, Browser, and Votes channel because you are illiterate?" - GeekyGerge, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22The updates! They do nothing!!!
- Salzar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Ive said this before, they (Nintendo) does not make flash. ADOBE does and they have made it very clear that all other non windows platforms, will never have good flash support. Cant tell you how long I waited for flash 8 or 9 for linux just so you could watch youtube. Flash is a great idea, but its development for many platforms seems limited. From the last report I heard, there was major issues with rewriting for 64bit.
In closing, dont hold your breath waiting for flash! - judremy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21They can't bundle the channel updates in because people may not have either channel. Remember, the Internet Channel costs now (if you didn't get it before July) and some people didn't get or didn't want the Everybody Votes Channel. Bundling those things in would take up space in the limited 512 MB that is there. Doesn't take long to go to the Online Shop and get both anyhow.
- arobar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16Just because there are no big changes doesn't mean it's not worth reporting. Something changed, even if it wasn't huge... Why do you have to be an ***** just because you think an article wasn't newsworthy?
- melonhedd, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17Turn it off.
- johnhummel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15That'll be sweet - I'm still hoping for Bluetooth keyboard support, but - one thing at a time.
- TheClassic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Yeah I found that a little disappointing
- drunkninja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15There's not a whole lot they could do to "brick" modded consoles. Nearly every Wii modchip merely mods the DVD drive, nothing on the motherboard is affected. Even if they come up with a way to detect it and shut down the system, all it would most likely take to get working again is to remove the chip.
- cardyology, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Any news on how this affects modchips?
Is it the "bricker" we've all been ***** ourselves about? - TheClassic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14You can change the way the light works... or turn Connect24 off
- VOOK, on 10/11/2007, -8/+21God damn my nazi web host killed the site WHY YOU MONKEYS
Dugg mirror got it
http://duggmirror.com/nintendo_wii/New_Firmware_up ...
Sorry Lads - mojotooth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Probably to scare you into not modding your Wii.
- Rabbethan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12But isn't that one of the best ways to wake up?
- daridave, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14People dugg you down, but you were right. It worked already, but it was still buggy. Now it seems "official".
- VOOK, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11No it does nothing
- maduin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Adobe doesn't allow anything above flash 7 to be run on devices other than desktop computers.
- brutimus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I'm typing this from my Logitech MX Duo (RF wireless) + Wii. I just plugged the base station into the Wii, left the mouse off it and started using the keyboard. It works fine from across the room!
- doshindude, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11*sigh*
I hate trolls. - brufleth, on 10/11/2007, -6/+15I still can't actually get a Wii.
- arobar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Maybe don't buy routers before the standards they're based on are ratified?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11They still need flash 8 support and better handling of streaming media :( but maybe that's asking too much right now. In any case, with the keyboard support, now i can troll digg more efficiently from my wii!
- arcticblue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Um, so use your computer. The Wii's web browser wasn't designed for day-to-day use; it was designed for stuff like Homestar Runner, Youtube, and certain sites designed specifically for the Wii.
- cardyology, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8You mean bannings? Halo 3 beta caused *some* (not mine :P) peoples console to be banned from xbox live permenantly. Not a single one was bricked.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8How can YOU not find the right "Reply" link?
- mbthompson, on 10/11/2007, -4/+12USB keyboard support is not a big update?
- MKautz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Adding USB support might be a tad bit easier than making a modern game my angsty friend.
- Exhaust, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10mywhitenoise knows from experience...
- Seacor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8All details of v3.1 update and Internet Channel update:
http://wii.nintendo.com/wii_faq_other.jsp#q7 - JonnyTrombone, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Yeah, what do they mean "no big changes found yet"? USB Keyboard support is pretty big!
- tcpip4lyfe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Which ones? Im kind of excited for battalion wars.
- WallnutBoy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8BLAME CANADA.
- racer108, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I would.
- liwii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Random people can't send messages to your Wii. Only people you have put in your address book and vice versa can send you messages. Check the FAQ: http://mapwii.com/wii-number/faq.cfm
- directive0, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Yeah can't agree. I actually really dig the browser. Its fun to hate on things cause they don't work exactly how you would have wanted it to though, I guess.
Also... your idea about actively crippling the browser to run on lower rez sites and channels linking to websites is asinine, I'm glad you're just a user ranting rather then a developer designing or you probably would've done serious damage to the awesomeness of surfing the web from my couch with a remote. - capran, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Yes, that's how the Wii Remote connects to it. In fact, you can use the Wii Remote with a PC with bluetooth (need 3rd party software).
- Jon99UT, on 10/11/2007, -11/+18USB keyboard support was added in the last update I thought?
- Psykus2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Seems like I was trying to update the internet channel before the update was completely up for US users (last night). Other people were having the same problem too. Works fine now.
- hasahugedig, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6you are not hardcore enough to appreciate the Wii. I'm serious this isn't a joke.

What is Digg?
