NES Cartridge Modded into NES System

gizmodo.com — This has to be the most jaw-dropping NES mod ever... putting a whole system-on-a-chip NES console clone into an original game cartridge. Talk about how to demonstrate the advances in shrinking electronics over the years!

            I still have, and play an NES. The best way to get a cartridge to work is to blow the moisture from your lungs onto the contacts, like fogging glass. The moisture helps transfer the electricity from one contract to another without shorting.

Now what would really be mind-blowing, however, would be to cram a N64 into an N64 cartridge. I somehow doubt that we are anywhere close to that right now, but I can always dream.

          If you could plug an SNES controller into a GBA, and connect it to a television set, I imagine it'd be a decent substitute.

  • rsdigi, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1The NES and it's games were mono, and were not designed for stereo sound. So why are there white and red outputs? I'm assuming this is just so the same sound comes out equally between both speakers, instead of using a Y adapter.
