- mkeydr, on 05/31/2008, -25/+497Since when does Mozilla require you to register an account to download an extension?
- Continuum, on 05/31/2008, -6/+300http://www.nintendo8.com - No extension required.
- Mejogid, on 05/31/2008, -3/+246Since you decided to download an "experimental" addon, which is an addon that hasn't been sufficiently tested for release to the general public. Experimental addons won't showup in search results unless explicitly specified, and can't be downloaded without an account so that the general public doesn't go download potentially dangerous/poorly functioning addons. A policy which would seem to be justified, based on the reviews for this particular addon.
- michaelphw, on 05/31/2008, -3/+144Doesn't seem to work in FF3.
- franklymister, on 05/31/2008, -1/+99It just opens Virtual NES in a popup window.
Go play anytime you want, without an extension - works in any Java-capable browser: http://www.virtualnes.com - thal3s, on 05/30/2008, -4/+88What's with all the reviews saying "it just doesn't work"?
- houndeyex, on 05/31/2008, -8/+91...and what's up with Firefox addons requiring a login to download? I don't remember that being the case before.
- doshindude, on 05/31/2008, -24/+101since they redesigned their site (for the worse).
- mcool119, on 05/31/2008, -4/+78None of the cool add-ons work with FF3. :(
- cannonball, on 05/31/2008, -14/+74un-*****-believable
- rauz, on 05/31/2008, -6/+62bugmenot.com to the rescue
- Topher06, on 05/31/2008, -16/+59I don't really get why you need firefox to play NES games. What is wrong with a stand-alone emulator? This is lame for the sheer fact that its completely unecessary to have to write a plug-in for a web browser to play a video game. Its almost like the developer was too lazy to write a net interface for a standalone product to access online ROMS so he just hooked into firefox just because.
- unicronband, on 05/31/2008, -6/+49Because "it just doesn't work". In fact, ***** THING SUCKS. And now my browser acting all ***** up. If you want an NES fix, check out Continuum's link below. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be burying this and leaving a nasty review on the firefox page.
- Pottypotsworth, on 05/31/2008, -6/+47"This loads and runs well (not jumpy, etc.) and I can see its future as a very well-used add-on. My problem is that the controls do not work at all. Aside from that, it works fine."
Pretty useless if the controls don't work. Also, how can this be legal? - vinnyvenus, on 05/31/2008, -7/+46WTF is up is with this registration crap? I don't want to be a hater but I really I hate this type of stuff.
- doshindude, on 05/31/2008, -2/+39I'd rather use a complete emulator than waste my CPU by integrating it into firefox as a half-assed extension.
- Flappity, on 05/31/2008, -1/+33Aren't you glad you saved all that time abbreviating retard?
- samssf, on 05/31/2008, -5/+34Except the plugin description says it works with FF3, now. Except, it doesn't.... but they say it does... but it doesn't. ***** THING SUCKS.
- ConfusedCartman, on 05/31/2008, -7/+34"This extension not compatible with Firefox 3.0"
Buried. - Verz, on 05/31/2008, -0/+25Experimental add-ons require a login.
- RcFromTwitter, on 10/10/2009, -2/+26nintendo8 is getting digg effect'd.
- JammoBlammo, on 05/31/2008, -0/+23lol - Are you new at internetting?
- Sabin, on 05/31/2008, -6/+28I have a complete GoodNES set but this is still fracking awesome.
- Anemichelix, on 05/31/2008, -2/+22"FireNes 1.0 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.0"
:'( - therumster, on 05/31/2008, -5/+25no firefox 3.0 - fail,
- benecere, on 05/31/2008, -1/+21The log-in is for the experimental extensions. The others don't need one
- Verz, on 05/31/2008, -18/+38Dugg down all of you ***** besides the two above me. Firefox ALWAYS required you to register before downloading experimental add-ons.
- TheGreatBelow, on 05/31/2008, -11/+30Sorry, not registering for that *****. Don't try and pull ***** like this Mozilla.
EDIT: Link to add-on w/o registering http://firenes.en.softonic.com/ - compu73rg33k, on 05/31/2008, -1/+19First name: Doesn't
Last name: Matter
Problem solved? - DonSlice, on 05/31/2008, -2/+20Oh, the irony.
- volve, on 05/31/2008, -10/+27A login for extensions? so much for simple, open and free alternative to IE. Somebody woke-up feeling like alienating users today!
- uremomsnitemare, on 05/31/2008, -0/+16solution = use ie7 to download firefox
- ligyron, on 05/31/2008, -2/+18"FireNes allows us to play around 2500 Nintendo games, without the need to download anything or emulator or roms." Now, just login with your Firefox account (or create one if you don't have one already) to download and install this add-on...umm ok
Going to a website and playing the games on-site seems a whole lot easier to me, and something I can do anywhere as long as I have a web browser - xexx, on 05/31/2008, -0/+16Since when has something being illegal ever stopped everyone from trying it?
- trogdoor, on 05/31/2008, -0/+15I love how half the people here are complaining about the fact that the addon didn't work and possibly screwed up firefox while the other half is complaining about Mozilla's new policy to require you to login to install experimental plugins that might not work and / or screw up firefox. The ironing is delicious.
- Cyberbladewolf, on 05/31/2008, -6/+21Why get your nuts in a twist that he doesn't want to use a real fecking swear. You're free to swear if you want, just as he is free to not swear if he chooses to.
- SolitarySoviet, on 05/31/2008, -2/+17well do it live!
- thrikulam, on 05/31/2008, -2/+16http://www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jsp
It ain't. As to why it's not shut down, don't ask me. Maybe it's because of the plethora of sites that are open. - Jushooter, on 05/31/2008, -1/+15Actually, Nintendo8.com isn't the original site. All the games on Nintendo8 comes from Virtual NES: http://www.virtualnes.com/
Not only that, but Nintendo8.com contains ads. So, pure 100% blogspam. - BigBrother87, on 05/31/2008, -0/+14Hi, are you new?
- JupiterSSJ4, on 05/31/2008, -3/+16why the ***** are you all complaining that it doesn't work using FF3 when it's not released yet! It's still a RC so go back to v2 until v3 is out and quit bitching about bugs that are your fault for using a not ready browser.
- TheSnuffster, on 05/31/2008, -1/+14It's too 1337 for IE, baby!
- dubloe7, on 05/31/2008, -0/+13which brings me to another extension I love, bugmenot.
- CarnivalOfDust, on 05/31/2008, -1/+13Isn't it for people at work, school, etc who can't install a standalone exe but can use FF extensions? My school used to do that, so this would have been well useful. So calm down dude.
(Edit: Although my point is moot, as a) it sounds to be a bit ***** and b) online NES interfaces already exist) - inactive, on 05/31/2008, -2/+13I tried to install the bugmenot extension for Firefox, but I need a password, which is what I'm using bugmenot for in the first place.
D: - dheaddy, on 05/31/2008, -3/+14I was about the post the same thing, it doesn't work but apart from that it works fine, wtf?
- MasterJediDan, on 05/31/2008, -0/+11Hey, at least we've got Adblock Plus.
- Culyt, on 05/31/2008, -4/+14GoodNES? As in "oh my GoodNES!!"?
☢ - trogdoor, on 05/31/2008, -3/+13You can get them for the wii.
- Myonosken, on 05/31/2008, -0/+10Still annoying.
