- jamie06260, on 10/11/2007, -3/+36Wow, if this actually works out and is usable, this would be practically the best thing ever for all of those Nintendo fans wishing that the Wii had an online marketplace like that of the Xbox 360. Granted, the Wii online marketplace will have to be faster... I for one hate the fact that it is soooooo slow.
- MatttK, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Now Nintendo needs to put two and two together and release Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, and, perhaps, Gameboy Advance games via Virtual Console. I don't care what kind of DRMed official flash cart I need to buy for whatever cost. Just make it happen, Nintendo.
- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2They still could have released GB, GBC and GBA games on the VC. They all play fine on a TV (Super Gameboy and Gameboy Player seem to attest to this). This is likely the only method Mother 3 would get released outside of Japan at this point.
- MatttK, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Sure but Gameboy games are more fun to play on the go. Then again, they should allow NES and SNES on the DS too. I'm sure they could write an emulator for it.

I think that's a little over the top. Xbox live offers a ton of *****, demos, movies, tv shows, exclusive games. PS3s store offers demos, Playstation games that can be played on PSP, trailers and exclusive games. This is just a cool feature for DS connectivity.

- jeromeerome, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14This is great for my DS but how long until I can download demos for the Wii. Yeah I know there are storage req. but can't they fit it on a 1GB SD card.
- ahawks, on 10/11/2007, -24/+10Sweet, now I'll be able to try out the demos before I download the roms! ;)
- synce, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13I BUY GAEMS
- GfunkGbuss, on 10/11/2007, -4/+18I SPELL PROPERLY
- Stormwysper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Me fail engilish?
- johnnycheeks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13That's unpossible!
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Good for you Billy, now go to that little yellow bus...yes it's that way, go on.
- ahawks, on 10/11/2007, -13/+3I buy games too, but DS games are just way over priced, imho.
- shortarabguy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Damn, your time must be immensely valuable... Downloading the roms is free, but your time is so valuable that you can't even waste time doing that unless it's REALLY worth it. I guess nothing's worth money to you then, right?
You play the demo of something to establish its worth. You download it and play if it's not worth the money, and you pay for it if it is. So you're saying that not a single game is worth money, but damn if you won't spend a ***** load of time downloading a demo, playing it, and then downloading the rom, for several( possibly a dozen or more) games.- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -9/+2Oh shut the ***** up your moralist *****. Just earlier today a ton of people were saying how cool it is that you can get Radioheads album for free, and you know everyone downloads music illegally. I own over 450 albums, but i'm not telling people to go buy albums, because they are extremely expensive.
$40 for a DS game is really pricey. $50 for a Wii game is insane, and $60 for 360/PS3 games is asking for too much.- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Radiohead *wants* you to download that album for free. Nintendo, however, has not allowed you to download any ROMs for free.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Why the ***** would Radiohaed want you to download it for free? They obviously want some money for the album they worked years on. Or else they wouldn't be charging $81 for their disc set...which I did buy.
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They don't want you to just download it for free, they want you to download it for what you think it's worth. No reason to get technical about all of this. Anal raping for ahawks plz. troll of the minute.
- shortarabguy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2I have never been called a moralist until now. Oh, how we've fallen...
You can get their album for free, but they ask you to pay what you think it's worth. Stupid, but chivalrous move on their part, because hardly anyone will admit that it's worth any money when they can just take it. In old-style economics, people would value something based on their resources. If I had 20 dollars, wanted 3 albums, and albums cost 10 dollars each( forget taxes for a second), then I would get the two albums that I wanted most, simple as that. You're not supposed to just get and take whatever you want whenever you want at no cost to yourself. That undermines the idea of value.
You can consider the cost of the game high, but other people value it at an even higher price still. That $40 is not an inherent attribute of the game. It is the value associated with it by the people who made it in response to the people who demand it, and if nobody demands it, then the makers will associate a different price with it.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -9/+2Oh shut the ***** up your moralist *****. Just earlier today a ton of people were saying how cool it is that you can get Radioheads album for free, and you know everyone downloads music illegally. - shortarabguy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Doubling my post was intentional... it makes me twice as reliable... Or something.
- shortarabguy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Damn, your time must be immensely valuable... Downloading the roms is free, but your time is so valuable that you can't even waste time doing that unless it's REALLY worth it. I guess nothing's worth money to you then, right?
- synce, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13I BUY GAEMS
- Wiinii, on 10/12/2007, -7/+33Wouldn't you think downloading Wii demos on your Wii console would be released before downloading DS demos on your Wii console? What's up with that?
- BuddyDoQ, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21Storage capacity. 512mb is not enough for even a shoddy Wii game. If they add external storage support, it may be economically viable, but I doubt we'll see that anytime soon. If they do it, I'm sure they'll launch it with their own branded external device.
DS games on the other hand (I have more fingers!) are just about the right size, and a great idea if you ask me. I rarely buy DS games because I can't tell which ones I'll like until I play them. This feature will no doubt send me and my 34 dollar monies (+ .085% local) to the store much more often.- cyberscape2, on 10/11/2007, -8/+6512mb is definitely enough for a short Wii game demo, and as for external storage... you could certainly save a demo to a large SD card.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6It's not really 512MB, they have to reserve space on the memory card itself, so it's more like 480MB...even then, you dont have ANYTHING saved on your memory as it is?
- grumbel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I can already buy a 4GB SD-Card for 30€, that is more then enough storage for quite a few Wii demos.
- danielsan1701, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wii supports up to 2GB SD cards.
- cyberscape2, on 10/11/2007, -8/+6512mb is definitely enough for a short Wii game demo, and as for external storage... you could certainly save a demo to a large SD card.
- Dan2552, on 10/14/2007, -0/+1A DS demo would be 4MB or less, whereas a Wii demo would be a lot larger.

- Adam420, on 10/11/2007, -21/+3would be easyer just to download the rom instead of downloading it to the wii then to the DS.
Get an M3 DS Simply.- blueeyedmonster, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19I'm reluctant to take advice from someone who spells it 'easyer'
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1Hey Adam, I've been thinking about getting an M3. After modding my PSP, and modding my Wii, I really don't see the point in spending money on games anymore, except for PS3 ones (because it hasn't been modded yet, and blu-ray discs and drives are expensive anyway). I've boughten about 15 DS games, I think I'd rather sell them and use the money towards an M3 card.
Do you happen to know where I can get the best deal for an M3?- Adam420, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1try amazon.com
get cheap microSD card there too, u need one for it.
- Adam420, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1try amazon.com
- papapushpush, on 10/12/2007, -11/+8having a DS station on the Wii could spell out new firmware for the DS
- dualscreenman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9The firmware isn't rewritable without modification, except for the user config portion.
- doshindude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11why? it can already handle demos.
- IronTek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Yeah, that'd be nice. Get some freakin' WPA support for their Wi-Fi!
- iofthestorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's a hardware issue I think. On that end, the DS wifi hardware sucks, I get like 20kbps downloads tops from homebrew software. Apparently it's like 802.11b lite, 2Mbit instead of 11.
- stonr2, on 10/11/2007, -14/+7This is really awesome. The PS3 also downloads PSP demos and games. Now people with a Wii and a DS can have the same experience.
- HA5TY, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16Don't Say That......People with a Wii actually want a Good experience
- matthewf01, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Definitely Capitalize words in the Middle of the Sentence.
Yea do that. - mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2You want a 'good' experience? Why the hell did you choose the console with barely any online functions, old graphics, and no new hardware?
How disillusioned are you to believe Nintendo's online features are more presentable than Sonys or Microsofts?- KingGoonie, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Because that console is the most fun with the best games.. and apparently most of the world agrees. Enjoy your Jaguar for the new millenia while Nintendo dominates because its actually enjoyable.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1what the hell is a millenia?
And I don't have to show the long list of games on the 360 and PS3 that are way better than what the Wii has to offer right now.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1what the hell is a millenia?
- KingGoonie, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Because that console is the most fun with the best games.. and apparently most of the world agrees. Enjoy your Jaguar for the new millenia while Nintendo dominates because its actually enjoyable.
- MagicCake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hey I enjoy my PS3 and downloading demos and hi-def movie trailers and stuff like that. What can the Wii do, again? Motion JPEGS? Yeah, that's... that's great...
- matthewf01, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Definitely Capitalize words in the Middle of the Sentence.
- stonr2, on 10/11/2007, -7/+7Are you people really that shallow? Is there some kind of auto-diig-down bot Wii fanboys launched? All I did was express my joy for those people who have a Wii. Yes I have a PS3 and you have a Wii. We can now download demos to our portable gaming devices of the same company. Digg is filled with more hate than reason.
Oh please forgive me for uttering the taboo word of this ***** up childish forum.- HOTM, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Its digg, it makes no sense at times.
- jasnmb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1the PSP downloads PSP demos straight off the Net...wish the DS could do that
- HA5TY, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16Don't Say That......People with a Wii actually want a Good experience
- HA5TY, on 10/11/2007, -7/+24Good! I never actuallt downloaded a demo. I'm not gonna go to Target and look like a nerd downloading software
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3You don't look like a nerd at Target. If you're doing it at Target, it's chic. Goes nice with Choxie and an Archer Farms Italian soda.
(However, do it at Gamestop and say goodbye to sex). - MASTERPL, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Yet you are GONNA post a comment that suggests you failed 2nd grade.
Wrong priorities son. - SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It does feel weird to go into a stores electronics department and take our your DS and start messing with it and then leaving the store. I always feel like store security is going to tackle me as I head out the door.
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3You don't look like a nerd at Target. If you're doing it at Target, it's chic. Goes nice with Choxie and an Archer Farms Italian soda.
- EbaumsWorldyea, on 10/10/2007, -5/+0Does this mean we can finally play that awesome spanish title "Cool people". Or will we have to wait for the corss-platform version on the wii. I dont think nintendo will introduce something so quick if we wait this long.
- Jennyd6, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It's a good idea. I just think the blogger needs to "edit" his work before posting. Ugh.
- merdiesel, on 10/11/2007, -10/+5Pretty sweet, but I think I'll stick with the DS download station I use now... blackcats-games.
- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Those BitTorrent Nazis at blackcats-games? I'd rather pay for the game.
- spideyman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hell of a lot better places to find them than on torrents.
- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Those BitTorrent Nazis at blackcats-games? I'd rather pay for the game.
- trunk8, on 10/11/2007, -14/+19I already have this channel. It's called "R4".
- darkNiGHTS, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9Yeah, the "R4" channel is great. The "demos" are very generous on it, it almost seems like you're playing the whole game.
- spartin92, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2The R4 is totally amazing especially the emulators
- spideyman, on 10/11/2007, -5/+0Mine is called "G6 Real" and those 'demos' work great on it too. :)
- seraph582, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1R4 4 LYFE
- matthewf01, on 10/11/2007, -11/+2***** YES.
Yea I just got an R4DS...but this is awesome and about time.- merdiesel, on 10/15/2007, -8/+3You JUST got an R4?...Why?
CycloDS Evo FTW.
- merdiesel, on 10/15/2007, -8/+3You JUST got an R4?...Why?
- AmazingAndrex, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2You will also be able to download trailers for Wii and DS games as well, apparently.
- iofthestorm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yeah, there's a picture of a trailer for Mario Strikers Charged on the famitsu page. Hopefully this will lead to demos in the future, as well as USB HDD/SSD support.
- kiiwii, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3There's a lot of untapped potential between the Wii and the DS... I hope Nintendo utilizes it more in future games. The Gamecube and the GBA were able to interact via the cable, the DS and the Wii should be able to do that wirelessly.
For example, the upcoming Cranium game for Wii comes with special glasses so only that person can see the word you have to act out or draw. It would be cool to have the word beamed to the DS instead.- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Really? Dunno about you, but I think special invisibility glasses are a whole lot cooler than Wii/DS linkup! I want some of those glasses!
- redjarman, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Man, I had this idea way back when the Wii first announce Wii-to-DS connectivity.
Sweet! It's finally here!- bluto20, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No you didn't.
- skywake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3maybe you did... maybe you didn't... but Nintendo has been talking about being able to do this for a while. This is just confirmation that is IS going to happen and it will be soon.
"I'll give you a specific example we are planning for. Let's say your Wii is connected to the Internet in a mode that allows activation on a 24-hour basis. This would allow Nintendo to send monthly promotional demos for the DS, during the night, to the Wii consoles in each household. Users would wake up each morning, find the LED lamp on their Wii flashing, and know that Nintendo has sent them something. They would then be able to download the promotional demo from their Wii's to their Nintendo DS's. This will, of course, be possible in gaming stores too, but I think users will enjoy being able to do this within their homes. The key merit here is having promotional material delivered to your home, instead of having to go collect it yourself." - May 25, 2006

- coldshuts, on 10/11/2007, -12/+1Download DS full games via bittorrent.
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Gee, it take you all day to think up that absolutely witty little attempt at trolling? Gosh, I wish I was you.
- Echuta, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1Sheesh they're such a backasswards company...
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2That's like MTV defending themselves because they play music videos from 3am to 5am on Wednesdays.
- XStatic, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4Good work!
Next - sell DS games in the Wii marketplace, To stage on the Wii. Download one at a time to play on the DS.
Next sell a secure ram card and allow me to transfer several from the Wii to the DS and play from the secure ram card via a nice menu on the DS.
Yep, I can do the same thing with R4DS(which I bought for all of our DS systems for just this reason).
I don't mind paying for the games, it is the right thing to do, what I hate is keeping track of all the cards!- JudgeMonkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hell yeah, I did the same thing. It's why things like steam and gametap are so indispensable to me. Keep loosing crap. If I could store every game I bought in some big wifi emitting... thingie, and call upon them as I wish. That'd be ideal.
- G1MPY, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I've been waiting for this for a while. Nintendo announced it before the Wii's release. Now they just have to come through with their DVD compadible Wii, and make it available in multiple colours...
- MacHarborGuy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3honestly, i don't know why people want DVD playback on the Wii. I have seen more game consoles in my area die because people used them as their main DVD player and killed the internal hardware. A DVD player is like $30 or less now at wal-mart and are less of a worry if they die, at least they are cheap to replace.
- Schmapdi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Neat stuff - I've seen the demo stations at Target and stuff but yeah - I generally don't take me DS with me into stores. Plus I'd be kinda embarrassed to do so too.
*Knocks little kid over* "Move it, I want to get me some items for my Animal Crossing town!" - Synn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is great and all but...when is it happening?
- blupixelz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Is this Nintendo's strategy to create open wi-fi community? Fon and T-mobile are taking on the similar strategy by letting their users share Wi-fi with other users and vise-versa. One thing for sure: more wi-fi -> more DS -> more addicted kids -> happier investors
- bootstrap, on 10/28/2007, -3/+2too little, too late. Sorry but thats how I feel. Dugg however for good news..
