- Ashkc88, on 02/22/2008, -1/+43Giana Sisters on a Nintendo console? Ah, the irony.
- jsin1276, on 02/22/2008, -1/+37I feel that it should be cheaper then 500 wii points as it isn't on the level of an NES game so it should be cheaper probably 300 wii points would be a good price.
- razmig, on 02/22/2008, -1/+24So how does that make it inaccurate? People use digg outside of the US, and c64 is still coming to the wii, so do everyone a favor and shut the ***** up.
- aspec, on 02/22/2008, -0/+21Man, if you have to ask... I don't think you'll appreciate them. Let's just say that the name comes from the amount of Ram in Kilobytes, and not system processor bits.

For the price of a couple of games, you could just buy a C64 with a few 1541s, joysticks and assloads of floppies.
I'm not buying it. Both figuratively and literally.
I'll laugh my ass off if Nintendo makes you use the Wiimote to type in load * ,8,1 to play - Nudar, on 02/22/2008, -3/+21LOAD "*",8,1
- DeanRed, on 02/22/2008, -0/+15I miss the good old days of the cassette and the 1 hour loading....
- 10goto10, on 02/22/2008, -0/+15I can understand that Nintendo wants to make money on their own Nintendo-branded classics (even if those have long since paid for themselves). But I doubt that a single penny will go to the original people that created the C64 games Nintendo now intends to sell. So as far as legality and morality goes, I don't see a reason you'd have to pay Nintendo to play these C64 games.
You could argue that just buying these games from Nintendo is easier than going through the hassle of installing a homebrew emulator, but on the other hand -- people who grew up with the C64 don't usually get scared off by something trivial as that ;) - jkoski, on 02/22/2008, -0/+12Load "*" ,8,1
- ricksite, on 02/22/2008, -0/+11500 points does seem a little high. It would be cool if they bundled the games. Say 10 games for 1000 points or something.
- Varz, on 02/22/2008, -1/+11My auntie still uses her C64 I'm sure if I told her about this she'd go and buy one.
Especially if Wizball comes to VC. - mindsnare, on 02/22/2008, -0/+9not to mention the games came on cassette tapes.
- pault107, on 02/22/2008, -4/+13Wow. ZX Spectrum next please.
- juicebag, on 02/22/2008, -0/+9They should give people a reason to not just play it on an emulator. That reason could be that it's only 3 bucks.
- CIAVT, on 02/22/2008, -0/+8LODE RUNNER!!!!!!!!
- inactive, on 02/22/2008, -0/+7Although this is very cool, I want to see classic PC adventure games make it to VC more than anything else at this point.
- LogitechG15, on 02/22/2008, -2/+9More overpriced 15+ year old games from Nintendo. NES, SNES, C64, etc should be $3.00 and N64 games should be $5.00.
- imbetterthanu, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6I'd like to see a re-release of the King's, Space, and Police Quest games from Sierra. The wiimote is perfect for Sierra's interface.
- kravex, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6Wasn't Uridium replaced by Uridium+ due to a bug? I'm sure you couldn't complete lvl 9 on the original.
I wonder what Rob Hubbards great soundtracks of the day will now sound like coming out of my audio system. - ricksite, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6The Commodore 64 is the highest selling computer model of all time.
- coheedcollapse, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6Yeah, I've always thought that if Nintendo halved every single one of their virtual console prices, it'd be worth it. Until then, I won't be purchasing any of them. The only game that I'd even think about buying (but I own it so...yeah) would be Earthbound.
- Netmindstorm, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6Maybe now I can finally find that Wumpus.
- sindex, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6BC Quest for Tires! Woohoo!
- johnhummel, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6I spent so many hours with Karateka as a kid. I must have gotten to the final boss like 4 times, only to be killed by that white haired girl at least twice until I figured it out.
Dang - that was a great game. The boss fight with the bird? So awesome. - HarleyQuinn, on 02/22/2008, -6/+12Excellent, I have been using an emulator ( http://zzap64.co.uk/c64/c64emulators.html ) for those times when I am up for Bolderdash, Loderunner, Jumpan, not to mention to old Winter/Summer Games and Bruce Lee games I spent hours playing as a kid.
- magiclava, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5...only to crash right at the end...
You kids don't know you're born! - BinaryFragger, on 02/22/2008, -1/+6Europeans are usually the last to receive games (wasn't SSBB delayed there as well?). It's refreshing to see them receive something first for a change.
I buried you for thinking that America is at the centre of the universe. - mdc10s, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5And dont forget zack mckracken, maniac mansion, california games, and blue max. Good times!!!!
- DefaultGen, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5Most NES games that Nintendo sells for $5 are dirt-common $1 NES games. Then there's Sin and Punishment for $10, but it's a $40 game. Nintendo really doesn't care what the real prices are, they care what people are going to pay.
- potisreallygood, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5Ug Olympics, first game to bring spousal abuse to video gaming.
- Trenchbroom, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5Elite! 10000 points for Elite in my living room! So my son can ask my why I'm so happy shooting outlines for fifteen minutes just before I come in to dock at the wrong angle and BAM! Space debris floating everywhere.
Actually I'm sure Nintendo won't allow this game--slaves and narcotics anyone?? - penguinpc, on 02/22/2008, -0/+41541
- inactive, on 02/22/2008, -0/+4No, but there should be quotes around the asterisk

- steelclash84, on 02/22/2008, -0/+4I hope they include "Into the Eagle's Nest". That was such a fun game on C64.

Mom, wheres my dinner!! - inactive, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3My Vic-20 games came on cartridges you could plug into the back. The only thing we used the tape drive for was for pirated games that somehow came around our neighborhood.
Radar Rat Race, how I miss thee... - screensnot, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3Racing Destruction Set!
- Coffeedemon, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3If they get the Bard's Tale, Ultima or SSI "Gold Box" Forgotten Realms games I'm buying a Wii.
- EricAnderton, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3What does it sound like? That's easy, just go to www.scenemusic.eu and listen.
- hobo343, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3only if the splash screens still take 5 minutes to load...

- mccalli, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3Depends where you were. Most of European C64s used the tapes as the disk drives were daftly expensive. I'm in the UK and was the only one with a 1541 snail drive, everyone else with C64s used tapes.
Over here only the BBC Micro range were particularly common to find with disk drives, and they were pretty expensive too. Still a lot of tape drives even on them. - DefaultGen, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3No... nothing...
- BearinG, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3Test Drive !!!
- TremorX, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3Amiga, and it was awesome. Maybe the Wii will get Amiga games next? Eh? Eh? PLEASE?
- juicebag, on 02/22/2008, -1/+4I read that as Ron Hubbard.
- zetsurin, on 02/22/2008, -6/+9This is just yet another example of the Wii simply being a GameCube. Where's something to innovate that people have been promising? Don't people find it ironic that the average joe on the streets only knows Wii Sports?
Heck, you can buy a C64 joystick that plugs into the TV which will play those games for a fraction of the cost. But because Nintendo decide to rehash you all think it's cool right? - wrupp, on 02/22/2008, -0/+3M.U.L.E. !!! Bring it on!
