Animated Lego Donkey Kong Game Recreated (w/Video)

trendhunter.com — The video was created by Lego enthusiast Dan Kressin who, for reasons best know to himself, decided to create a Lego Donkey Kong replica. Using only Lego he must have the patience of a saint as he recreated the original Donkey Kong screen… or so I am told as I’m not old enough to remember the original.

    The animation's about 5 frames per second. The hammer doesn't last long enough, Donkey Kong should turn side to side to throw the barrels rather than flapping his left arm around, there's no hammer on the second floor like there should be and if it was supposed to be authentic, where's the 'How high can you get' bit at the beginning.

    Normally these kind of animations are ok but this is absolutely rotten. Hell, the camera couldn't even stay still throughout the whole thing. Was this a school project or something?

    Nice little effort but ultimately; EPIC FAIL.

  • WafflesID, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4It's like art with an etch-a-sketch. There is a certain challenge to produce real artwork despite the limitations of the medium.

    Anyone can DRAW a donkey kong animation, but it takes a lot more effort and therefore is more impressive/satisfying to do it with a medium that was never intended for that purpose.
