- NRay7882, on 09/24/2008, -0/+26Walt has what other teachers of music lack. His energy and unique way of demonstrating how to understand different lessons and fundamentals of music are easy to comprehend, not only for musicians but also for the aspiring artist who is just picking up an instrument, or the singer who wants to learn about reading sheet music. There's probably not a single lesson that goes by where you can't learn something new. The fact that he can teach those with the time completely for free (or donation) and for the ability to interact with others learning just as yourself, gives him the edge he needs to make his show successful.
To Walt, you're a great guy and it's well deserved that your show be picked up by Revision3. Good luck with it, and keep that ball rolling Killa! - jjaime213, on 09/24/2008, -1/+21Walt has Gary's energy.
- MScrip, on 09/24/2008, -0/+16De-interlace the video!
- CoyoteLoco, on 09/24/2008, -9/+21ho boy, a Gary Vay-ner-chuk Clone.. I'm telling you, they are multiplying.
- brianpeiris, on 09/24/2008, -0/+11These comments suck.
The show looks interesting though, despite the annoying background music and the grainy video. - WarrenWhitlock, on 09/24/2008, -0/+10Now here's a show worth Tweeting about. I just told all my followers to DIGG and start listening to this
- belthesar, on 09/24/2008, -1/+10Walt's show, like himself, is one of the most driven, passionate, and informative pieces of Web 2.0 media. It's only fair that he got this chance to exhibit his show on one of the leading networks in New Media.
- danielhart, on 09/24/2008, -1/+9Walt is a great guy. He has answered many music questions for me and he knows his stuff. DUGG!
- blatt, on 09/24/2008, -0/+7The internet's music teacher is finally getting the attention he deserves.
- admiral70, on 09/24/2008, -3/+9Walt is awesome, great job.
- ligius, on 09/24/2008, -0/+5Then clearly the lessons don't apply to you, they are not meant to. They are just an insight to what music is, kind of like the show 'how stuff is made'. You won't be able to build a car just by looking at the show (or howstuffworks) but you might build a passion for engineering. Same here, only applied to music. I say we need more of this.
- Databob, on 09/24/2008, -1/+5Did you digg it yet? It's an Aw3SOme show, and the now that it's been picked up by Rev3, it's only gonna get better!
- kashem, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Good god... interlaced video is your enemy!! Other than that, it seems cool!
- cliffeotc, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Walt! Your ROCK MAN! LOVE THE PASSION!
- ropiko, on 09/24/2008, -4/+7awesomeness!
- phuzle, on 09/24/2008, -4/+7I'm a guitar teacher (currently teach 40 students a week, ages 8 to 60), and there is little in this video that shouldn't be day one material for any lesson on any instrument. I don't understand why there is so much praise because Walt got hopped up on uppers before explaining some basic stuff.
What people don't realize is that you need tons of repetition. The best guitarists I know (and believe me, I know many amazing ones) have practiced 4-8 hours every day for years straight. That is what it takes and you don't need to watch videos or spend money on lessons - you just need to know what to practice (not too hard to find out) and commit to doing it over and over and over, long past when you think you've gotten it. - Dorolicious, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Awesome!! Did this connection with Revision3 happen at #bwe08? I remember you asking a question there. CONGRATS!!!
-@DorotheeRH - CathyWebSavvyPR, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4Walt definitely has the Passion thing down. I met him in a session at PodCamp Philly 2008. He obviously loves what he's doing and it shows.
- imtheoneinpink, on 09/24/2008, -1/+3go walt!
- Howardgr, on 09/24/2008, -1/+3Walt is not a GaryV. clone. Walt is who he is - a guy who is insanely passionate about music. I had a great time meeting him at Podcamp and Web 2 expo and Blog World. He is going where the people are to get the word out.
- heyitsRachel, on 09/24/2008, -2/+4yaaaaay Walt! :)
- salbonneetdough, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Walt Ribiero is the Mozart of Ustream.TV thanks for everything, Walt. cheers!!!

- holymrack, on 09/24/2008, -3/+5I don't know about clone. They're both extremely high energy and in love with their communities, but two very distinct people doing very different things. Big congratulations to Walt on this though, he's been working and hustling for a long while and it's finally paid off.
- hkbebe1, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2digged walt!

- bicyclethief, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2This Walt guy powers himself by sucking the life force from viewers I think... I'm beat.
- fxu1989, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2The music is too loud and I can barely hear him.
Bad video. - BillC212, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2NOICE!!! :D Go Walt!!! :D
- dumass4u, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2this guys insane wacko nuts off his rocker and possibly on cocaine.
- Homerr, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Had to click on it because of the thumbnail, I thought she had a gigantic rack.
- SuperTonic, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2This is cool man. I'm a college student studying jazz guitar, and through the course of all my music theory classes there hasn't really been a "hip" way to teach theory. God knows us guitar players need the theory early because we are notorious for not being able to read music notation. Which leads me to a joke:
How do you get a guitar player to stop playing?
Put a piece of sheet music in front of him and tell him to read it. - ChristyV, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2This man has re-inspired me years after having given up with countless instructors who taught me very little. Music theory has the deadly possibility of being frustrating and convoluted. Nothing Walt teaches feels confusing and there hasn't been a question asked that he couldn't answer with a clean, concise response. I'm so happy he's around saving music for people like me.
- JCougar, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1He should deinterlace his video prior to export.
- JaanL, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1Walt rules!

http://knol.google.com/k/david-iglesias/music-theo ... - Spo8, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1Hell yeah, this kicks ass. Who knew a music lesson could actually hold my attention?
I play guitar but have never bothered with learning theory or actual sheet music, but I learned something even from this first episode. Bookmarked and I can't wait to see what's coming up. - Meowbiusfox, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1This is useful stuff for the kids.Go Walt!
- twmulloy, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1yay! walt way to go!
- thesimo, on 10/03/2008, -0/+1well he kinda skipped how to transpose the major scale onto the different strings on the guitar...lol
- specialbuddy1, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1I was thinking the same thing. He's just really enthusiastic about music but it's way to fast and jumbled.
- remortgage, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1For a beginner a good place is www.guitarscale.co.uk for electric guitar.
- Peter89, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1So teachers shouldn't be passionate? How much more people could a teacher reach by being passionate and really trying to share the love of music than a monotonous teacher who relies on the students to take initiative? If the student is already passionate, they'll find someway to learn, with or without a teacher, but if there's a passionate teacher, he or she might reach a student who had no idea they had an aptitude or an interest in music.
- Shadowfox99, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1I seriously lol'd at your joke.....I know how to read sheet music for the piano, but when I play guitar I read by tabs...
