- Lane, on 11/18/2007, -1/+39How can one put this type of thing up without an audio clip??
- isolino, on 11/18/2007, -1/+23Or pics.
- inactive, on 11/18/2007, -0/+18or a video
- KillerJ59J, on 11/18/2007, -1/+13Okay, _blink182_rox. I'm sure it's classical music that's gay and not what you listen to.
- kingvik, on 11/18/2007, -3/+14Or a video.

- heystoopid, on 11/18/2007, -0/+9Wrong era , please try again !
But then again , perhaps perhaps you view everything written in music prior to 31st December 2000 to be classified as Classical music now as it is so last century :) - djbon2112, on 11/18/2007, -0/+8*smashes head on desk*
You're what's wrong with music today. You don't recognize good music if it smashed you in the head.
P.S., STOP calling it "classical music": it covers more than 400 years of European history. Divide it up like it should be. - Feep, on 11/18/2007, -0/+8You're so deep.
- luet, on 11/18/2007, -0/+8Oh dear.
- smokeylizard, on 11/18/2007, -0/+6Actually having seen this in person, I thought it was very good. Shame there are not any pictures or videos available of it yet. And i definitely would not call these people geeks, the computer was actually used as an instrument. Used the webcams which looked very unusual from the audience.
- 0260, on 11/18/2007, -0/+6how can they be nerds if they use apple laptops? anyone who even touches an apple product is very hip. havent you seen the commercials?
- andycr512, on 11/18/2007, -0/+5If it doesn't have screaming and a guitar, you turn it off immediately.
- EmoSLWarrior, on 11/19/2007, -0/+4You have no real taste or appreciation for music. The fact that you listen to two of the most odious forms of commercial music craft (rap and country) illustrates that clearly. I'm not much of a fan of classical myself, but at least I acknowledge that they are still very important works. Whether you like it or not has no bearing on whether it is important or not. You may not care about how your Intel or AMD processor works. But if no one did, you wouldn't be pointing and clicking your way to Digg. My main point is that you must acknowledge the importance of classical music. It is the foundation of all other music. It is the microcode of all forms of western music.
I suspect your interests in rap and country are probably limited to the most obvious and most popular acts of the genre and have little to do with an actual appreciation for artistry. Your obvious bad taste in music is a strong indicator that I am correct in my assumptions. However, I should also say that given a choice, I would probably rather listen to some classic NYC rap any day over any form of country music. I find country music to be the most loathsome of musics. It appeals to the lowest mentalities usually coming from the southern U.S. - keppj0nes, on 11/18/2007, -1/+5How could someone write an article like this without a video?
- zombies187, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3Its ok not to be interested but you must stop listening to blink182.
- nerogtr, on 11/19/2007, -0/+3"blah blah blah, this is an outrage, this is the end of music, blah blah".
easy tiger, music will be just fine. - HastyBoom, on 11/19/2007, -1/+4LOL. That is sooooo 1993. All you're doing is displaying your ignorance.
- david468, on 11/18/2007, -0/+3Ever heard of a band geek?
- crazybrit, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2Okaaaay.... no sound or video clips? Lame.
- saifatlast, on 11/18/2007, -1/+3Actually, creating electronic music generally involves playing it on some kind of instrument just like any other kind of music. A lot of people now use MIDI keyboards and drum pads that hook up to a computer. You use some kind of software to "record" what you play. Basically, it records the notes realtime as you play them.
- KillerJ59J, on 11/18/2007, -3/+5I listen to hip-hop and country too. I just don't think there's anything that interesting to be found in classical music.
- madeinbrazil, on 11/18/2007, -2/+4Geeks finally went to band class.
- crazyhorse13, on 11/19/2007, -0/+2so....
can we hear it? - sr3yas, on 11/18/2007, -0/+2Anyone else think its really uncool to wave your hands into a webcam as an instrument?

http://www.mp3ultima.com - SteveKubrick, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Wow York made it onto the front page and it isn't even New! Hoorah!
Great idea. Would love to see a video of it. - Ronnie, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Replaying a midi file is not equal to playing an instrument . Replaying 50 midi files is not equal to playing 50 instruments. Music without soul is not music. IMHO /soapbox
- insanebrain, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1no pics ??
- mookieXL, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Only instrument? Are you ***** serious? There are MIDI sensors for guitar and violin, above mentioned drum pads, midi flute, various experimental gizmos, and basically any instrument can output MIDI via pitch recognition (although not in realtime).
- nufoto, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1"musicians dressed in formal black and used Apple MacBooks" Now that would have been quite a site to see......All though this was done before using Super Collider

- HastyBoom, on 11/19/2007, -0/+1Dug, but really disappointed that there's no pics or audio clips. :P

- phoenix2330, on 11/18/2007, -1/+1technology is amazing. i love it. great find Dugg
I would love to see a video too - Sinudeity, on 11/19/2007, -0/+0Have you ever played on a 'midi' guitar?!
Seriously, that doesn't count. I could also just hook up 8 buttons
and make a 'midi instrument'. What you lose, is the 'feeling'.
IF you could hook up a flute to a midi-controller to make some recordings...
Why would you? - rennick, on 11/18/2007, -1/+1Very cool.
- lardoandkeg, on 11/18/2007, -2/+2That is actually pretty cool. Nice find. Dugg.
- rocknroll4ever, on 11/18/2007, -0/+0 And now for something completely different...
- madfusion15, on 11/18/2007, -1/+1pictures or it didnt happen
- Jereso, on 11/18/2007, -2/+2Not band, orchestra. Besides, bands are better.
- Sinudeity, on 11/19/2007, -1/+0"Some kind of instrument". You mean, the ONLY instrument, which would be a midi keyboard. Which is less time-consuming than manually clicking and dragging notes. Although, you can still manually modify your notes AFTER playing it with the midi-keyboard.
- Sinudeity, on 11/18/2007, -2/+1I think that has always been my problem with digital music. The human interaction.
Instead of practicing your fingers raw, you simply click and drag a few notes over a bar.
The light sensors sound cool though. - vornan19, on 11/18/2007, -3/+1O' help me, Lord of Music. Help me retain the charm, warmth and love of ANALOG.
Yo! Fellow musicians, check out http://www.analogman.com for analog effects pedals. I have no affiliation with analogman, I'm just a customer! - allemande, on 11/18/2007, -2/+0As a pianist...this is an outrage!!
- BreakingBnj, on 11/18/2007, -6/+1What is the point? There would be NO emotion in that music whatsoever, and emotion is what music is all about.
- habenneas, on 11/18/2007, -7/+2Here's some clips of a digital orchestra:
