- Aculeus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You're right about the title, however I titled it in direct oposition to an article titled "Why I Pay for Music". I should have made it more clear as to the effect of "Why I Don't Pay fo Individual Music Tracks". You are the second person to tell me that, I'll add a side note :).

- trevorroth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wouldn't this be better titled something like "iTunes vs. Subscription service"? I mean... you clearly pay for your music, just in a different manner. I opened up this submission expecting to just comment "Because you're a thief"... but you do shell out dollars for notes... so don't display yourself as someone who pirates their music.
And I agree, there's a lot of hesitation for using iTunes (seems to be the primary service you're against) as you're only paying for the right to listen to the song, whenever you want, on certain devices... UNTIL... the DRM bites you in the ass, or your library is lost, etc. etc.
So yeah... if you spend more than $10 on purchasing music otherwise... subscription could be the way to go for you... especially when you take into consideration that Yahoo Music Unlimited will let you burn and "keep forever" whatever songs you want for $.79/track. And knowing how the music tastes of people shift... not having to pay that cost upfront is a plus.
