- semeticstallion, on 11/27/2007, -2/+53Sweet band, sweeter concept. I've "watched" this 8 times now and still am noticing new things.
- handsomehansen, on 11/27/2007, -3/+43seeing this band live is like having a religious experience.
- RAEP, on 11/27/2007, -0/+28Win Butler has never looked so ***** creepy.
- gavin422, on 11/27/2007, -0/+23This has been around for a while. They put a countdown timer on their website and everyone was hoping they'd announce a new album or something. Instead, they gave us this video. It's pretty cool, but it was disappointing at the time.
- aproxia, on 11/27/2007, -1/+16Makes me want to replay it to see if I can find other things. But I'm of the Youtube generation... So I'll just go to bed now. zzzzzz
- McBradd, on 11/27/2007, -1/+14Totally awesome. I'd love to see more media move this direction.
- Tayls, on 11/27/2007, -0/+12Yeah, but Neon Bible was released just a few months ago. The idea of expecting another album announcement was absurd at the time.
- RAEP, on 11/27/2007, -0/+11Also, I wish they would've picked a better song. Not the best from Neon Bible. Maybe more to come?
- shahruz84, on 12/17/2008, -1/+11that really scared the crap out of me...
- kmadigan, on 11/27/2007, -5/+14Arcade Fire is the best Canadian band since The Band.
- tearmeapart, on 11/27/2007, -6/+13Interactive music videos have been done before...
I believe the Smashing Pumpkins did The Crying Tree of Mercury in 2000 (as mentioned in http://www.spfc.org/band/chronology.html?year=2000 ), but it was so obscure that I cannot even find a link to it. - bbcoburn, on 11/27/2007, -2/+8Very creative and catchy. There's loads of different things in the "video".
- ZenMojo, on 11/27/2007, -2/+8Diggable.
- leprix, on 11/27/2007, -5/+11so it no longer is? thats good. i hate it when things continue to be pretentious.
- mrjit, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6They're amazing live.
- merdiesel, on 11/27/2007, -1/+6One of my favorite bands... great find, thanks.
- JigoroKano, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5Yeah but I've listened to it so much it might as well have been out years.
- sutro33, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4So is Wolf Parade.
- Dunkelzahn, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4No, it actually did happen. It was on the old smashingpumpkins.com website from during the Machina/Machines of God period (2000-2001). The whole website was an interactive flash site full of all sorts of mystic symbols and easter eggs, tied into the concept album Machina and then the never-completed animated series Glass and the Machines of God that Billy Corgan was putting together...
Then Zwan was born and all the SP stuff was put aside... :-/ - Bologner, on 11/27/2007, -3/+7You're pretentious.
- theXenon, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4I blame Digg and iTunes for keeping me poor... I went and bought their album.
- Adenosine, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3I can't get enough arcade fire - this band pushes boundaries, all of them
- theradical, on 11/27/2007, -3/+6Not entirely creative as far as the animations go. It is a very cool idea - it just needs someone with real vision to develop it in a way that can make it mainstream.
- worn, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Man I love Arcade Fire.
- ZenMojo, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3I digg on principle.
- gyrfalcon, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2The people who weren't in diapers 16 years ago had the Internet... You've obviously never used gopher or other systems that were around before the www
- bitcloud, on 11/27/2007, -0/+27th Guest? Return to Zork?
I'm pretty sure there's a reason the rift between interactive and passive media exists - too passive to be interesting, and too active to be passive... - Bologner, on 11/27/2007, -2/+4Rush?
If so, then there's no one better. - kickelephant, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3I third that, Chicago theater last march was life changing.
- abox, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3That is really awesome, moar songs plz!
- skywake, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machina/The_Machines_ ...
- markperia, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2I knew it wasn't gonna be a new album. But I knew it was gonna be something cool. And it is.
- kablammo, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2You know he can't hear you, right?
- Legato, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2interactive music videos seem to be few and far in-between... mainly because they take a lot of work only to have their greatness limited to the internet. this was on digg a few years back afaik - http://www.theunseenvideo.com/video/youmakemefeel. ... - but it changes based on the weather outside... assuming it gets your zip from your ip correctly :D
- owlfeathers, on 11/27/2007, -2/+4I completely agree. But, you should see The Polyphonic Spree. It's like Jesus. But, you're on acid. And Jesus doesn't even give a damn.
- Jessejb, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1IDK all my Canadian friends talk about 'Tragically Hip' ?
- feelsgood, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1this idea would have made a lot more sense with black mirror as the song. Digg this comment so that they are forced to make a new video.
- kickelephant, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Maybe so, but there are a few people who would disagree...like Bruce Springsteen....and some nobody by the name of David Bowie...you might have heard?
- breezytrees, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1this is really really good, i can't stop listening to it. so minimal, so perfect for 2:53am. Thanks :-)
- gavin422, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1The Youtube generation sleeps?
- Darkhowling91, on 11/27/2007, -2/+3Nifty.
- michir, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Yes, this is so true.
- b3owulf, on 11/29/2007, -0/+1Maybe this is a good idea... but in execution I just want my 4 minutes back.
- AnotherBrian, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Arcade Fire was recently on Austin City Limits, they where great.
http://www.pbs.org/klru/austin/index.php?option=co ... - camilos007, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Innovative band, innovative page.
Saw them at Maurice-Richard Arena. Great band. - NailerNforce, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1http://www.rektor.no/index.php?go=princess
This music video game was made in 2005. I like it alot. - psylent, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1You're a foolish fool.
- j3one, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2band + shrooms = amazing live religious experience.
- gavin422, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1The timer was put on their website close to the height of the Radiohead hype. It didn't seem that unreasonable.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -1/+1Imagine TV commercials doing the same thing to you and all other viewers in 10 years!
