- jivemasta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Wtf, they say it was lawful defence of another man. So no murder charge. But before he shot proof, he shot two in the air to stop him without killing him. So he gets charged for having a weapon and shooting it. My mind is boggled.
- BeachSide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You feel bad!?!??!?
Let's list the events...
Pool game gets out of hand
Proof shoots and KILLS Keith Bender
Keith Bender's cousin shoots Proof and kills him
Maybe I am missing something... - Colbear, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I was a fan of Proof's music, but I don't feel bad for him at all. He got what he had coming. You live a crazy life and it's bound to catch up to you some day. I think hanging out with Snoop, Dre, 50, and Em is the reason he's in the mess though. I wouldn't imagine anyone looks up to these guys for their lifestyle. Their success? That's another story.
Proof was my favorite rapper from D12 but I haven't cared to listen to him since the event.
His family and friends? Yea it sucks big time for them. - david630, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3oh and the Lily Allen record is amazing
- david630, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@CBTF
rap doesn't promote violence anymore then any other form of music ie metal. If your looking for some good rap however here are some of my recent favorites
Ghostface Killah-Fishscale, Rhymefest-Blue Collar, DJ Drama & Lil Wayne-Dedication 2, and T.I.-King - IcyStorm, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10Yeah, well we don't care that you don't.
RIP Proof - SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1check out the new swollen members album for good rap. And as sad as his death is, Proof probably was popping off at the mouth and got himself shot.
- dmoney22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@bpapa,
I'm sure what you're referring to is 'selling out,' which most rappers do not do because pretty much what that means is you say '***** you guys IM RICH' to alllllll of the people who helped you become what you are. Most of these guys are very close to who they are with when you see them, you don't just up and leave when you hit the big time. - haifista, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't understand it either.
- Superthug, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I was a big fan of Proof and of D12 at one point. Proof and Eminem really carried the group.
But, just because I liked the guy doesn't mean I dont think it was his fault. A pool game?!
Come on. - bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I'm pretty sure that none of those guys you mentioned leads any sort of "lifestyle." They are all ***** rich off their ass and have their heads buried in about a million different projects. I don't think they have time to get into gun fights with local gangstas.
- torifile, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3That was the most convoluted headline I've ever read. I understand it now, but it took 5 reads.
- dralezero, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Comprehending that title gives me a headache.
- bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I feel bad for Proof, his family, and his friends. I also thought he was a good rapper. But for somebody that hangs out with Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Eminem to get caught up in stuff like this... seriously, what was he thinking? He probably shouldn't have been involved with these sorts of situations. I know part of his personality was that he was always staying close to his home in Detroit, but that doesn't mean he has to stay in a violent enviornment. If anything I hope this sends a message to other rappers to get out of the hood when you have the chance.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2 Proof, 32, was a member of the rap group D12 and was a close friend of Grammy- and Oscar-winning rapper Eminem, who spoke at his funeral. Despite snickers about his last album "payday", co produced with wrappers Mars and M.C. Nougat, he went on to enjoy critical success with his hit single "Baby Ruth Got Back."
Proof insisted the shooting was unintentional, blaming hereditary butterfingers for a slip of the trigger. - steveoco, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Agreed, I didn't know who proof was and was very confused by what the story was actually pertaining to.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5Remember kids: rap doesn't promote violence.
If you say it does, you must be a racist. - tmcc, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Proof was an idiot.
He deserved to die. - sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -16/+6I'd type something witty here involving "fo shizzle" ,a 40 ouncer and how it honors my homies but I'm just a diggity suburban white boy.
So, uh... nice shot? - dmoney22, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1shut up whitebread.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1You must be a college professor with a degree in grammar.
- DFrag, on 10/12/2007, -19/+6Wow, I'm really trying to but I don't give two ***** about this.

What is Digg?
